El Camino Hospital Hospital
I met with Dr. Legha on Friday, January 28, 2005. My impression of him was that he was very knowledgeable about he does. I was pleased with his knowledge and confidence as a surgeon and he answered all my question and concerns. I look forward in him doing is work to help move to the other side. To me Dr. Legha has both surgical competence and has concern for his patient's.
Through,professional, attentive,firm,direct, educational.
My first impression was and still is that Dr. Foster will be my surgeon always for any need on mine or my husband or family member.
Staff, very helpful,I feel comfortable to call with any problem or question.
Future patients should always be honest with their surgeon.
Dr. Foster emphasize aftercare though patient education and patient participation. With on going follow up appointments.
There is a well informed staff and support group.
Rishs of surgery was addressed in a stright forward maner.
Overall Dr. Foster is the best.
Surgical competence, according to the surgical team I spoke with she has their upmost respect. And the is good enought for me. And she performed my surgery as far as I am concered, perfectly.
My first impression of Dr. Feng was one of great professionalism as well as knowledge. My intial consultation with Dr. Fend was a very lengthy and an informative one. He addressed the risks and complications of surgery in great detail. Dr. Feng is very much concerned about your overall health. I feel two of his greatest assets would be his bedside manners and his surgical competence. He just knows what he's doing. As these are my personal impressions of Dr. Feng, I most definately would recomend him to anyone with no hesitation of giving him a hight score of a perfect 10. He also imphasizes great aftercare and explains the aftercare program in detail. Dr. Feng is one person I trust with my life, and am so very glad to have been given the opportunity to have had him as my surgeon. Thank you Dr. Feng.
Dr Wetter was very professional, and put me at ease. He answered my questions before I had a chance to ask them. I look forward to utilizing this procedure as a tool to reach my lifetime goal of once and for all being done with fad diets and moving forward to behaviorial changes that will enhance and greatly improve my lifestyle.
Donna DeKay, Yvette and the entire staff are a wonderful support team!
I look forward to meeting again with Dr. Wetter on the 19 of January.
Initial consult was with Dr. Ndidi Azikiwe and Dr. Robert Rabkin. They both seemed to feel that I was a good candidate for the DS. My initial surgery date was with Dr. John Rabkin but I do not know if the updated date is with Dr. John or Dr. Robert.
Attended a group meeting in SF and all three Drs. and most of the office staff were there. GREAT event with a lot of nice people. Dramatically different than other support groups I've attended previously. Where the topic of what you can/can't eat appears to be the norm at most meetings, here it was never really a topic. The meeting was structured, but informal enough to make it fun.
I had a problem with the anesthesiologist (Dr. Lee). I have very small veins, so he had a difficult time locating a vein for my IV. I woke up with horrendous back pain in my room, and was screaming for 45 minutes, until I was able to receive enough morfine to calm down the pain. I was informed this was all as a result of not receiving enough anesthetic in the OR. If that was the only thing that went wrong, I can't complain.
Dr. Wetter was very nice and didn't make you feel like you were a freak or looking for a quick way out. He talked to you and made you feel very comfortable. He explained the procedures and the pros, cons and risks involved in the surgery.
My impression never changed from the time I met him in October of 2003 to now in Nov. 2004 He stayed the same caring person the entire time.
His office staff was very helpful, he had a coordinator for the surgeries, who you could call at any time with questions.
Dr. Wetter is very insistent on certain issues, such as weight loss before surgery and learning how you are to eat before and after the surgery. He is adament about starting an exercise program that is to continue after surgery. He has a aftercare program forintegrating food back into your life.
I thought his he was absolutely great overall, including his surgical competence and bedside manner. ( He has been doing the Lap procedure for a long time,He was one of the pioneers of the Lap surgery. He trains other MDs on how to do it.)
I realize that not everyone might have the same experience or impressions that I did.
I was trully ready for my experience and was determined to make it as positive as I could. So everything happened the way it was supposed to for me.
My first impression of Dr Rabkin was that he was very professional and also had a kind bedside manner. He proved to be a very competent surgeon.
The best person in the office is Myra; she is an excellent PA. She is attentive and responsive.
(I must confess, it is fortunate the other PA left because he was terrible.)
There is an emphasis on aftercare through Myra's accessibility and by way of the group meetings. If you cannot go to those you are in trouble.
The risks were spelled out very clearly.
I rate Dr John Rabkin in the highest possible way for both professional competence and for bedside manner. He is outstanding.
My husband and I met with Dr Wetter on July 12. We both found him to be very informative and very nice as well. We had gone in with a list of questions but before we could get to any the doctor had answered all of them.
In regards to his office staff we found them to be very pleasant as well. Especially Yvette.
I go back for my second visit on the 11th of July. By that time I will have my pysch eval and met with the nutrionist.
I will post more on my 2nd meeting.
