When I first met Dr. Douglas Olsen, I could tell that he was an extremely professional man. Dr Olsen was confident, enthusiastic, patient, and fluid in his explanations of the risks and rewards of RNY surgery. His professionalism--along with his staff, set me at ease. He went right into telling me all the risk of the surgeries and did not sugar coat anything. I felt very secure with my decision to have Dr. Olsen as my surgeon from the beginning. He wants you to be educated and informed when making the decision to have this surgery. I thank God that I had such a well practiced and professional surgeon on my side. He is very positive.rnWhen working with Dr. Olsen, I could tell that he really cared about my success and that he enjoys helping people live complete and happy lives. And it is not just him, it is the staff in his office who were all so friendly and remember my name when I come in for a visit...even the receptionist! I love his office staff. I walked out of there even more sure of what I was doing. His staff and the whole office runs very smoothly and I have had nothing but absolutely WONDERFUL experiences there so far. rnAbsolutely the best surgeon/doctor I have ever dealt with. Future patients should know that he is the best doctor/surgeon I have ever met.rnI would rate him highly to anyone. I believe having surgical competence and bedside manner is very important...if I don’t trust my doctor or feel that he or she is listening to me that I will not allow this person to operate on me.. rnI am sorry but I can find nothing negative about Dr. Olsen. He truly takes care of me and my Family in the way that he beleives is best for us, so far that reason i can see nothing negative.

I really liked Dr. Dyer and am glad I used him for my Lapband surgery. I was very pleased with the pain management after the surgery and my incisions were very neat and healed well. I had my surgery in early November and have lost about 40 lbs. I am pleased with the results and did I have to do this again, would use Dr. Dyer again.

I thought he was truly a very compassionate and caring surgeon also very flexible. My impression has not changed. They are very friendly and accomadating. there's nothing negative t here is immediate trust. That it is very very important . Because he has all tools accessible and convenient for or where it is available. By not only showing illustration but also emphasising the dangers of not following careplan. On a scale of 1-10 a 10.

At first I thought that Dr. Dyer was a little standoffish. Since that I have had the surgery, I have found him to be very caring. rnI think his office staff is very nice and try to help you with anything that you ask of them. What I wish is that you wouldn't have such a long wait when you have an appointment. I always have about a two hour wait from my appointment time. rnDr. Dyer emphasizes aftercare..and they offer a list of programs that you can attend. rnI would rate him as a doctor 100%. He told us everything about what would happen. Even the risks. Overall I would tell everyone that is considering surgery to go see Dr. Dyer. I think his surgical competence is outstanding. Bedside manner was fine. rnI had the surgery on November 16, 2006 and I feel like a new person. rnI will say however that I was disappointed that we were told the surgery was going to be only a couple of hours and I had family and my pastor waiting for six hours in the waiting room and no one let them know that there were other things going on. Not the Dr. fault I think. That was my only complaint.

I chose Dr. Dyer b/c of his online creditials and the number of surgeries he has done. He is a very straight forward man who directs you to success and it is your choice whether or not you heed to his instructions. His office staff is excellent! He stresses the importance of vitamins and aftercare maintanence. He is an excellent doctor and I recommend him to anyone who asks.

Dr. Dyer was a great person to talk to and did inform me of all that could go wrong and that I my life would be a lot better when this was over--and I would be suprise on how I would feel in a few months---I,m here to tell you he was so right --I feel great and can,t believe the things I have missed and the way My grand kids keep telling me how great it is for me to be able to do the things I do now,By the way you can not find a better person to do your surgery than Dr. Dyer I just think the world of him and his staff is great.rn The hospital staff was great too. rnYou won,t go wrong with these people taken care of you . rn thank you Dr. Dyer and Staff. rn rn Rose Bradshaw

Dr. Olsen was very through in explaining my surgery options and was comfortable with him from the start. Dr. Olsen's office staff is very helpful and have always been there for the support I required. Dr. Olsen is VERY BIG on aftercare. Dr. Olsen feels that this is part of the key to the sucess of the surgery. It is a proven fact that Dr. Olsen has a very structured aftercare program. Dr. Olsen was very through in explaining the risks and possible complications of the surgery.rnrnDr. Olsen by far, is the best doctor to do the weight loss surgery!! Both Dr. Olsen's surgical compentence and beside manner should earn him Doctor Of the Year!!

I had my first consultation with Dr. Douglas Olsen November 30, 2006. I had laparoscopic gastric by-pass surgery on December 4, 2006 and just today,January 4, 2007, had my one month post-op checkup...I have lost 42 lbs!! It was tough at first, but as the days and now the weeks go by it has gotten easier for me. My first personal impression of Dr. Olsen was of a professional who truly cares for his patients and their well being. He was very knowledgeable, straight forward and very solemn. He explained every detail (pros & cons) of the surgery, and he took time with me. He came into my room and was in absolutely no hurry to be finished talking with me. He answered every question I had to ask and he did not act like even my silliest question was unimportant! Right before surgery he came to my bedside in the holding area of the operating room to check on me. After he asked how I was doing, I looked at him and said...I am lying here wondering what in the world I have gotten myself into...he laid his hand on my arm and told me we can stop here...it is not to late to change your mind. That is when I knew I was going to be ok, because I drew strength from him and his sincere caring I could see in his eyes and hear in his voice. Since surgery I have been to see him twice and he is really a teddy bear...even so, he is very strick about aftercare and following his instructions. I am 53 years old and have been to many medical clinics, but I have never been to one that has a staff that made me feel more at ease... actually I feel totally at home. Everyone is on a first name basis, constant smiling and just pure sweetness in everyone I have had the pleasure of dealing with before and after my surgery! As for me and my own personal experience on a scale of 1-10 I rate Dr. Douglas Olsen a 10+. This is my own personal impression of my own personal experience and I am making no statements about what other people may experience if they choose to have weight loss surgery or if they choose Dr. Douglas Olsen as their weight loss surgeon.rnJo Atkinson from Centerville, Tennessee

Dr. Olsen, the man who helped prolong my life!! I love him!! My husband loves him!! rnrnDr Olsen knows his stuff. He is great. My first impression of Dr O was he is very serious, BUT this turned out to be great. He is serious, but he is very funny as well. He is very knowledgeable about bariatric surgery and was one of the first to do laproscopic - I thank God everyday that I chose him. He is very concerned about your health and well being and makes sure that you know what is going to happen and take place during and after your surgery. He lets you know the good the bad and the ugly (which I am very proud that he does, because for me, I want to know everything). He gives you the tool to help with your weight loss and you have to work your plan and follow it to succeed. I feel that he is the BEST surgeon. I made the correct decision of chosing Dr. Olsen. His office staff is great. They are always willing to help in any way they can. They have all gone above and beyond. I love them as well and feel that the whole office is now a part of my extended family.rnrnThe Centennial Center for the Treatment for Obesity is a Center of Excellence which provides a wonderful aftercare program for life. They are constantly finding something to make things better for all their patients.rnrnWay to Go Dr. O!!!!!!!!

Dr Dyer is a great surgeon and person. I was impressed by his down-to-earth knowledge of the procedures and his genuine concern for my health long-term. rnrnThe surgery, although delayed a few hours because of the case in front of me, was smooth and I have had no issues with pain or leaks. I think I hit the pain-button twice the first night out of frustration of just not being comfortable, but I never took a pain pill, tylenol or anything. It was just not nearly as painful as expected. Worst part for me was the catheter! The drain tube was more aggravation than pain, and it came out the first week back with no issues. The port was \"odd feeling\" to clean, but not painful and I was walking a /12 ile on the second day home from the hospital.rnrnAlso I cannot say enough about my day nurse at Centennial. She was great, there if needed but not aggravating... and she did told me to watch being hateful when she said \"Ill be back\" after a blood thinner shot and I said \"I am sure you will\" jokingly.rnrnDr Dyers follow up and easy to follow instructions have also made this a breexe. I was back to work on the 10th day after suregery for 4 hours, then 6 hours and the following Monday went back full time. (I am in management so not allof of physical stress, but was walking a mile 4 times a week by that Monday).rnrnThe staff and accessibility to staff at the office is also a huge plus. If you live in the area and are thinking about surgery, see the Centennial Center for Treatment of Obesity. This is a perfectly structured, well oiled machine of knowledge and care!! rnrnrnrn
