Brandon Regional Medical Center Hospital
I was looking for a Dr. that not only knew his stuff, but had a good bedside manner. I had heard stories about a local surgeon that really herds people in and out and his bedside manner is in need of help. But people still go to him because they are so desperate. I found Dr. Chebli on this website and was impressed with his professionalism, knowledge, patience and of course his bedside manner. He not only turned out to be exactly the type of surgeon I was looking for; but as it turns out, as one patient put it, "he is a total hottie!"
(Helps with the process). I read the bottom of this "surgeon's page" and it says that no dr is 100%, however, I have to disagree, so far. I am completely a 100% satisified customer. The staff is great and the dr is wonderful. I will check back in after my surgery.
This is the kind of surgeon I have. Even though my liver was huge, he could have easily opened me up and taken the easy way out, but he didn't. It was a challenge, but he still did my surgery laprascopic. Dr. Chebli thought he saw bubbles in the leak test and did he keep looking? Yes. It took him an hour 1/2 because he is a perfectionist and I love that about him. He really, really cares about his patients. If anyone is considering surgery with Dr. Chebli, do it! He's great!
My first impression of Dr. Chebli was that he definetly has information well prepared for his patients. He gives you this great binder with all types of information. It's so handy to have especially when someone asks you a question about the surgery you can show them just about everything right from the binder. Dr. Chebli and his staff seem very helpful and understanding. Dr. Chebli is very thourough in making sure you have all the tests necessary to make sure your health is in well enough condition for surgery. The hardest thing for me was Dr. Chebli instantly said to me NO SMOKING or NO SURGERY. I haven't had a cigarette since 4 days after he told me. I know that it makes sense and I want to do everything the right way.I will fill you in more as time goes on. My initial consultation was both pleasant and informative.
First impressions: Dr. Chebli was direct, provided clear information, didn't talk down to me. He comes across as being "on top of his game," assertive, self-confident -- important qualities in a surgeon. He doesn't pull punches about the need to use surgery -- whether lap band (my choice) or gastric bypass -- as a tool and not a total solution. He made it clear that aftercare is key.
Dr. Chebli's staff is professional and friendly, made me feel welcome and comfortable. Sue, RN and insurance coordinator, did all the legwork on getting approval. She kept me informed at each step.
I'm still pre-op, will update after surgery (God willing!) on other aspects of care.
Update post-surgery: Dr. Chebli did a great job in surgery (#1 priority!), good follow up in hospital, kept my hubby informed. Dr. C is definitely topnotch.
I had my first consultation with Dr. Chebli about a month ago. I was sooo nervous, but was put to ease as soon as I arrived at his office. The office staff are very nice and personable. I thought that Dr. Chebli was very professional and very nice(and very cute to boot) I am very excited about this journey. I think I am very good hands. I am now trying to get covered by my insurance and that is a huge pain in the ass. But Sue has been very helpful.
My first impression of Dr. Chebli was good. He was very nice and explained a bit about himself and about the surgery options.
His office staff, especially Sue, have been extremely helpful, courteous and hard working. She seems genuinely interested in helping his patients get what is needed well in advance to help the process for insurance approval to go smoothly. Thanks so much Sue!
I have no negatives about Dr. Chebli. He has studied with a fine surgeon in Dr. Roll and I believe that he genuinely cares about his patients.
He has an aftercare program and is scheduled to speak in forums concerning life after surgery.
There are several risks associated with this surgery and that will be discussed in more detail with him at my next office visit.
I give both him and his office staff very high marks thus far. Surgery is scheduled for May 28, 2004.
I met with my surgeon on March 8, 2004. My first impression of him was great, very friendly he did not rush me into making any desicions on what type of surgery to choose, he talked about the advantages and disadvantages of each surgery. Every question that I asked he anwsered. Everyone in the office was very helpful.
Dr. Chebli was the best! I definitely got the impression that he knew what he was talking about. The information I received at my consult was so helpful. He really works with top-notch people also. The nutrionist and social worker (for the psych eval) were extremely helpful. During my hospital stay he visited regularly and was always concerned. I find him very easy to talk to and quite funny also! I'm thankful that he was my surgeon.
He looked young but he proved he had experience with the surgery. That made me feel alot better about having it performed, he answered every question I had in the mind and gave detailed information about the surgery. He gave me a notebook of what I needed to do before the surgery. He made me feel very relaxed and I put my worries aside. The staff was nice also, it was a pleasant experience. Now I have to do my checklist starting with all the testing then I can go back to him.
Dr Chabli was very pleasant and humorous. We did not go into detail about what to expect before and after surgery because he wanted me to take care of some physical problems first (ulcer) before focus on the elective WLS. We'll meet again to go over the WLS pre-opt and post-opt care.
He performs both lap and open but prefers open for me because I'm apple instead of pear shaped. He is young but I feel secure with him because he trained with the best and I've heard only good reviews about him.
Mindy was very nice and helpful. I had more than a few insurance issues and had to call the office several times. Mindy was always ready to lend a hand. She spent time explaining things to me and looking up phone numbers for me.
Dr. Chebli is a TOTAL hottie!!
Phew, now that's over, I can concentrate on the really good info. He was very straightforward and nice. I've only met with him once, but have another meeting scheduled in the next few days. His office staff is wonderful. Mindy is a God-send.
I didn't like the fact that I couldn't look at him all day heehee
