Dr Chebli was very friendly and made me feel comfortable from the start. He was very helpful in what type of surgery was best for me. My impression has not change what so ever about him. His office staff helpled me with any questions I had. They took the time to explain all the test that I would need to setup. I can't say there is anything that I dislike about Dr.Chebli. He is very direct and to the point. I like that in a Dr. He tells you what needs to be done on your part before the surgery. He has a book that is given to you with all your directions that need to be done by you. How the surgery is done and what needs to be done afterword. Overall I would have to say I feel very lucky to have him as my Dr.
I can't answer to the bedside manner part, but hope he is as nice as he was in the office. IM looking forward to having this done and will do everything on my part to make this a success.

When I met Dr. Chebli, I knew I made the right choice. Quite honestly, I chose him because he was in my insurance plan, but I soon found out he is the type of man I can work with. Dr. Chebli knows his business and does not allow half steps. He is most concerned with his patients coming out of this process with the health to truly begin life anew. If you think you can slide by with him, or half step on the things he has you do, forget it. My impression is he will forgoe doing a surgery on someone who is not sincerely ready and dedicated to doing this the right way. That approach worked really well with me and I felt I had to work hard to get to the best place possible to have this surgery. From start to finish, he is A-1.

Surgery day, he was right there, bright early and strong. I felt very confident in his hands. I knew I had the easy part of going to sleep and leaving the work (of the surgery) up to him. He visited me twice in the hospital and when I called him two days after my release with a swollen belly, he had me come in right away. Turns out I was retaining fluids so he was able to address this right away. He listens and truly truly cares about people making this important transition and seeing it for the BIG step it is. His information packet was huge and informative. His office staff is INCREDIBLE. Sue is a swiss army knife of a woman! Not only did she manage all my insurance stuff, she also removed my staples today and really knows how to encourage and challenge you at the same time.

If you are ready, and even if you have doubts and fears, trust me, you want this doc and his team in your corner. I was also impressed with the obvious rapport between Chebli and the hospital staff at Fair Oaks, they clearly have loads of respect for the man. As do I.

After care is very structured and he is very clear about what you need to do to have this surgery be a success for you. He does the starting gate, then its up to you to see it through but believe me, he will tell you how each step of the way. I am sticking to what he prescribes for me to do in terms of eating and drinking, and not taking half-measures. I cannot believe I had major surgery just days ago. Other than the water retention, which he addressed today, I feel better than I felt pre-surgery. His insistence on meeting with dietician and a rather long dietary class is really very important. You need visuals! When I saw a table spoon of food, I truly began to understand.

I went in as a patient, I came out as a believer.

Dr Chebli is a very very nice looking man so to be honest, at first that was a distraction but his knowledge and care of his patients is top notch. He really put me at ease. His office staff were very nice. They show the same level of professionalism no matter how many times I've called.

I met Doctor Chebli in September of 2003 when I had my initial consultation. He was very nice and informative. He answered all my questions and simplified a few things for me concerning the surgery. He allowed me to select which form of surgery I thought would best suit me, along with adding his professional opinion to my choice. Because I was scheduled for another operation during this time, he suggested that I wait 2 to 3 months after having the surgery before coming back to him for the WLS. He told me that in most cases, a person, after having surgery, is pretty hesitant on going directly back under the knife. And you know what?....HE WAS SOOOOO RIGHT. After having the fibroid tumors removed, I never wanted to see another hospital...lol. But I have come along way now in my healing and I am ready for anything. The staff is great and the lady I deal with directly....Sue, is just wonderful. She's very attentive and prompt. She gets the job done. I am very satisfied with my selection of surgeons and very happy with how things are progressing for me. Sue has been tremendously helpful and has a very sweet and personable manner. My impression overall...."It doesn't get any better than this"

My fist impression was hat he was very knwoledgeble, and very excited about what he does. He is wonderful. Office staff is great and helpful. They know what they're doing. Dr. Cheblis exlained everything about the surgery, pros and cons. He even drew the process out and explained the surgery step by step. He realy believes in constant after care and followups.I rate a 10 from 1-10. Excellent choice, not only is he friendly, he's also a very enthusiastic DR.

Dr. Chebli is a great Dr. From the beginning to end he is great. Very attentive to your needs and goes over in detail everything you need to know about the surgery. Same goes for his office staff. All I had to do was go in for the consultation and they did the rest. The surgery went very well with no complications and he made a much smaller incision than I expected. So far so good and no problems. His bedside manner is great as well. He is very easy to get along with and really helps when you ask for it.

My first impression of Dr. Chebli is that he is charismatic and distinguished looking. His wonderful bedside manner made it so that he was easy to talk to and I felt like he really understood my issues. We spent the fist 10 minutes conversing aoubt my name, home town and native tongue. It has been said that it only takes five minutes to form a first impression. In those few minutes, I knew that he was someone I could trust with my surgery; hence, I selected him as the 'one' to help me get on to the "other side."

I had completed hours of homework on the various procedures and surgeons prior to making this appointment. Hence, our discussion focused on the RXY-Lap. We talked for length about how to make this surgery successful as well as next steps. Upon leaving the consulation, Dr. Chebli gave me a three ring binder filled with information on obesity, nutrition, websites, support groups and a check list. Whoa! It has been so nice to have all of this information in one convenient location.

One added benefit of going with Dr. Chebli has been how curteous, knowledgeable and helpful his office staff is. More than respect, I truly felt that his staff had reverance for the morbidly obese and our struggles with weight.

The only thing negative I had to say is that I wish his waiting room and office had larger chairs or sofas. I could feel my stomache do the, "I hope if I get into this chair, I can get out of it," dance everytime I had to sit or stand...

I'm one of those people who will speak with anyone. I was chatting with a lady who worked for a GI specialist and asked about WLS. She said her doctor didn't do that but her mother in law worked in the same office as Dr. Chebli. She had so many wonderful things to say about him that I decided to check it out. She gave me the number. I called and was pretty bummed to find out that he was no longer with them. I figured I had nothing to lose and asked them if they could give me his new number and what do you know? They did. I fell in love with the way his staff treated me and then the treatment from Dr. Chebli put it right over the top. After that first meeting, there was no way I was going to have anyone else work on me. I was a neonatal nurse for two years and then a psychiatric nurse for 1year before I started having babies and decided to stay home. I still remember how we were taught to care for patients. From the first day of the four year program we had it drilled in us that we should find another field if we wanted to treat people like cattle. I guess volunteering at several nursing homes and hospitals for the last 15 years didn't hurt to remind me either. I am very careful about who touches my family or me. I've been known to switch doctors because I didn't like the way the staff treated someone while I was sitting in the waiting room. I had such a great feeling about Dr. Chebli that I figured if anything happened to me, it wouldn't be on his watch. If you are searching for a WLS physician, you can stop now. It doesn't get any better than Dr. Chebli and he has the caring supportive staff to back him up. If you have any questions, email me. I seem to be pretty good at calming pre-ops down the day and even hours before surgery :-)
