Boston Medical Center Hospital

THE NURSES WERE UNDERSTAFFED I KNOW ITS NOT THIER FAULT BUT WHEN YOU ARE IN ALOT OF PAIN AND HAVE TO GO TO THE BATH ROOM AND THEY MAKE YOU WAIT AN HOUR IT REALLY MAKES YOUR HOSPITAL STAY TERRIBLE. ALSO ONE MORNING AFTER CALLING THE NURSE FOR AN HOUR FOR MY PAIN MEDS. I CALLED MY MOTHER AND SHE HAD TO CALL THE FRONT DESK. I ALSO HAD A TERRIBLE BED SORE BECAUSE NO ONE GOT ME OUT OF BED ( ITS BEEN 7 WEEKS AND ITS STILL HEALING. ALSO IN THE SIX DAYS I WAS THERE NO ONE EMPTIED THE TRASH. I ALSO HAD A VASE FALL OFF THE WINDOW AND TOLD THE NURSE AND NO ONE CAME TO CLEAN IT UP, MY MOTHER HAD TO DO IT. AND THE NURSES WOULD TAKE THEIR GLOVES OFF AND TRY TO TOSS THEM IN THE BUCKET BUT THEY WOULD MISS AND LEAVE THEM ON THE FLOOR, THERE ALSO WAS BLOOD ON THE BATHROOM FLOOR AND MY MOTHER WAS GOING TO CLEAN IT UP AND I TOLD HER NOT TO TOUCH IT BECAUSE IT DIDNT COME FROM ME.

I was in intensive care for 3 days and the care there was good. When i was transferred to a regular floor the room had all the last patients things still there so it had not been cleaned at all. The nurse was buzzed , and seemd to not car and then stated that I was not there a half hour yet and I was there longer then that. Everytime I buzzed for pain medication or anything for that matter it took an average of at least one hour for them to come to your room. The oevernight shift was the worst.I finally gave up waiting for help to the bathroom and made it being very dizzy and i measured my own urine because they never bothered to.I will never go there again. I found it amazing that the nurses were incapable of saying they were sorry for the rediculously long waits . Oh the avergae times to buzz the nurse was 3 times within an hour to get them to come to your room. Never Again.

I felt that the support services, and care in the OR and RR were exceptional. The care on the floor however was poor. I waited several times for up to 2 hours for pain medication once my PCA pump was taken away. The nursing staff was excellent 50% of the time and horrible the other 50%. I was either checked every hour or not checked at all. On 2 occasions I had to call my mother at home and ask her to call the desk to have somebody bring me pain medication. I'm a nurse myself and am extremely disappointed in the nurses who share my career at the Boston Medical Center.
