Barix Clinics - Ohio Hospital
My overall opinion of BTC is excellent. I have to say that i did not like sharing a bathroom with 4 other patients though and there was a time in the middle of the night that i rang the nurse for my pain meds and was made to wait 30 minutes. The reason i said my experience was not restful was because my roommate was extremely ill and could not move alone. Staff was constantly in the room assiting her and she was yelling and screaming from pain. Readers should know that this patient weighed probably 600lbs and required extreme care.
I was nervous at first because I knew if something went wrong with my heart or something not connected with the stomach, they would be out of their area of speciality, but then I realized at any hospital only the requested surgeons are avaliable at the time of surgery, and the only benefit would be quicker transfer to another floor-say a cardiologist for a heart attack. The BTC hospital is only a few minutes from any hospital in Columbus, and because they only do this surgery ,they are better prepared in preventing problems to start with! Many of the staff had gone through the surgery themselves--so they knew the conditions first-hand, and that was comforting! It was clean, well staffed with people who cared about you--not just your fat, and only 12 rooms, so you got personal attiention when you needed it most. When I used the 'call button' I waited less than 30 seconds to be answered, and usually was answered by a nurse/or aid in less than 1-2 minutes. Not all hospitals answer that quickly! All in all- a 10 out of 10.
