I found my stay to be wonderful. I had a couple of great nurses. However, the night staff was not as considerate of patients who have just had surgery.

Dr. DiNick is incredible!! He is truly an artist and does his work with the utmost care and consideration. He is very maticulous in his work and leaves barely a scar. I have such a beautiful figure now and am loving every minute of it. He is wonderful!

All in all, it was an okay experience. I had one nurse who seemed kind of mean to me, but that might have just been all the drugs I was on, lol.

Originally, when I started my journey at BTC, my doctor was Dr. Jerry Rogers. Because I had insurance issues, it was six months later and Dr. Rogers had retired. It was at that time I was told my new doctor was Dr. Poplawski. BTC called me and told me that Dr. Pop wanted to meet me so I made a trip back to Ypsi for another consultation, which I didn't mind at all. This is my life I am talking about! I have spent a whole lot of time reseaching this surgery, so I immdiately told him that I had read all of his patients comments and now I would like the opportunity to draw my own conclusions. It made him laugh of course...
We didn't spend time going over the surgery per say, but we did talk a lot about WHY I overeat, my support, counseling and the emotional side of being fat. I appreciate his concern knowing that he doesn't want me to set myself up for failure and I agree wholeheartedly that I have a mental problem that needs to be fixed. He was very happy that my husband was there and I could tell that he was happy that I had done so much research before I had made my decision. My conclusion: I feel very confident with his surgical capabilities and I think this was God's plan for me to have Dr. Pop as my surgeon.

Dr. Poplawski was very thorough in explaining all of the risks, etc. surrounding the surgery. He included my husband in everything which went a long way in easing his apprehensions about what I was going to do. After surgery and my followup visits with him are where he shines. He's so caring and encouraging and makes you feel you're his only patient. His office staff was extremely helpful and supportive as well. He really stresses exercise following the procedure. I like structure and the BTC program is all written out and if you have any questions a nutritionist will answer any time.

Personally I believe that this hospital is wonderful. The staff was awesome, they really made the stay easier. They were attentive and friendly.

The hospital itself was good because it was very accomadating for overweight individuals.

I had never had an extended hospital stay before so it was a big concern, but the staff made things very easy for me while I was there.

I think the staff was WONDERFUL! I am an RN, and I know that those nurses worked very hard at making this experience as pain-free and pleasant as possible! They were incredible : knowledgable, friendly, considerate, understanding....I think it pays to go to the facilities where this surgery is all they do!
