I had my initial mini seminar with Dr. Schuhknecht and initial meeting. My surgery is scheduled. I liked Dr. Schuhknecht very much and his staff all seem very nice, helpful and friendly. I really liked that the office had a very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere but was very professional at the same time. The Dr. was very willing to answer all my questions and his staff have been helpful with follow up questions. The only thing I would wish for differently is that they would have separate information packets printed for those of us getting the lap band procedure. The information packets are all about the micro pouch procedure which I understand is the most common procedure for them. I would like specific follow up diet packet and the lap band informational pamphlet to be included. It is difficult to sort through and try to figure out what applies and what doesn't. So far I have been very pleased. Will let you know more after the surgery.

I was very impressed with Dr. Schuhknecht from the start. He has a warm and genuine spirit about him. He answered both my husband and I's questions. At surgery he came and talked to me for a momment which was a comfort. He has a very friendly staff, though sometimes there hard to get a hold of on the phone. I would say both his surgical competence and bedside manner are equally great. I would recommend him to everyone.

My frist impression was he made me feel comfortable and i felt he knew what he was doing i stilll feel this way. His office staff were very friendly. He emphasizes aftercare alot.He also helps you with aftercare so you are doing what you are tlod.He explains that you could die if you have blood clots he also will put something in your legs to help prevent them but he really stress the matter.I rate him as a very good dr. . i think both are important surgical comp. and bedside manner.

I have known Dr. Schuhknecht for five years and personally been impressed by his expertise of being a surgeon. He sits on the Board of Directors with a few other Physicians he's excellent.

The staff at the CORI centers was always very busy. You have to ride them for a while to get anything accomplished.

Dr. Schuhknecht carefully addressed the risks of surgery with all of his patients as a group.

Sept. 25. I had my consulation with Dr. Schuhknecht. I think he is very informative. Knows what he is doing. He also has a good since of humor. He explained everything in detail.

His office staff are the best. I am grateful to Amanda and Susan.. They listened and listened and listened to me when I called all the time.. All of the Cori staff are just great.....

I liked him well enough, though he used foul language a few times in his presentation to the group as well as during our one on one meeting. I found this to be inappropriate and unprofesional.
His office staff are really great people, though a bit harried and understaffed.
They schedule you for a certain time, but you don't meet with the Doctor for almost three hours! He apologized, saying he had a procedure he couldn't avoid. However, after talking to several others who have gone to him and/or his partners, I discovered this is regular procedure for them. So, be prepared to wait.
I have only read/heard great things about this doctor's procedure and skills and am confidant I have picked the right Dr.
I have not exp. his surgical competence for myself yet, but will post what I think when I do.
I'm now six and a half months post-op and down 91bs! I HIGHLY recomaned Dr. S. and his staff to anyone who will listen. They've answered any and all questions I've asked of them and have always been very kind and supportive! I think Cori is a great place and am looking forward to my TT after the first of the year with them!

I am VERY impressed with Dr. Schuhkneckt. He is kind, caring and considerate and truly has a compassion for obese patients. He truly seems to enjoy helping us to "make a new life". He has been very accomodating and patient oriented. I am VERY happy with my decision to go with Dr. Schuhkneckt. My family also loved him and felt he went out of his way to explain things and calm their concerns and questions.

The office staff at CORI have been outstanding and I especially thank Amanda, his team leader and Cheryl, one of the medical assistants and Susan in the office for prompt, courteous assistance with filling out work disability papers. Everyone seems truly caring about the patients. They have always returned calls promptly. They were especially caring and supportive during a stressful week pre-op when I feared I may have to postpone due to another minor medical issue that arose. They hung in there with me, and helped get me through it so we could proceed. I am so grateful!!! I'm doing great at 2 weeks post-op and am so glad it is over and went extremely well.

My first impression of Dr. Schuhknecht was very positive. He was very friendly and VERY informative. He was more that willing to take whatever time was needed to answer questions no matter how trivial. His office staff was very nice. I enjoyed those that I met in person and those that i ahve only spoken with on the phone have been very helpful and pleasant. They talk to you like they know you. At this time, I can't think of anything I don't like about him or his staff. I was given a pamphlet about aftercare and diet. There wasn't a lot of verbal talk about it during my consultation. He was very open about the risks of surgery. He even OFFERED to tell us his mortality rate. He didn't wait for someone to ask. So far, (being pre-op still) I think he is great. I think bedside manner and surgical compitence both go hand in hand.

I had my consultation with Dr. Schuhknecht on June 11, 2003. I am currently waiting for insurance approval. Dr. S. answered all my questions and by the time I left I felt completely confident of my decision to have surgery. He is fun and easy to talk to and seems very down to earth. His office staff have been wonderful.
