Dr. Schuhknecht had quite a sense of humor! He explained everything about the different surgerys, and all that we could expect. His office staff were all friendly as well.
Dr. Schuhknecht makes you feel very comfortable and answers any questions that you have. Has a very positive attitude. Very encouraging in post-op progress. I would recommend him to anyone interested in bypass surgery.
My first impression of Dr. Schuhknecht was his down to earth style. He made me feel very comfortable both in the group session and in my private consultation. He wanted
me to loose some weight pre-op and I am accomplishing this. It has also helped me
from becoming tangled up in the “Last Supper” syndrome. I will update this as time
Goes by.
Dr. Schuhknecht did the one-on-one consultation about the procedure. He thought I was a very good candidate because I'm not as overweight as most people considering the procedure. My BMI is 41. He was good to talk to. I was surprised his weight was close to mine or at least he looked like he was near my weight. At least he has a appreciation of what carrying a little weight around is like. Overall he seems like a good guy. He has lots of fans. Many people I've talked with at Yahoo! Groups were very pleased with his work and bed side manner.
I felt like he was so together and knew what he was doing. He swore a couple of times during the consultation which some people indicated that they were offended, but actually it made me feel more at ease, like he was just a guy too! My husband really liked him too. The staff means well, they really do. They have recently lost a lot of people from their staff and they are desperately buisy with the BTC no longer accepting BCBS, they are literally flooded with phone calls. So cut them some slack, because they are all really nice people. I dealt with Amy who was a joy. She actually called me at 9:00 at night from her home to schedule my appointment, that is how buisy they are. The whole process for me took 1 1/2 months, which is wonderful!
met with dr s on 4-23-03 after getting caught in the insurance issue at btc with bcbsm. dr s seemed to know exactly what he was talking about and was very down to earth i like that about doctors when they dont come across as superior. i feel that he and the other surgeons at cori centers do alot more to preventivly protect you from the complications after surgery. i am very glad that fate and the universe have led me to him.his office staff is wonderful when they arent to busy to get back to you, but just keep after them they are just human.
Dr. Schuhknecht was awesome. He was great in explaining the procedure and is really polite. I am not so sure about his office staff so hopelly that will change, they dont seem very organized.
I have met with Dr. Schuhknecht once. This was for the initial consultation. He seem to be very straight forward. I liked that. He seem to be very easy to talk to and listened to all of my comments and concerns.
Finally met with Dr. Schuhknecht yesterday - he was great. Very personable, good sense of humor, great at explaining the surgery and not hesitant to go into detail. I have had no problems with the office staff, they have been quite helpful. My surgery date is set for the week following my consult, not bad!
