I would like to thank God first for leading mr i\n the direction of having weigh lost surgery. I then want to think Dr. Melvin and his entire staff for such great services they have provided for me the entire process. I pray for others who are considering having weight loss surgery to consider Vanderbilt. Dr. Melvin thumbs up to u, thank God for you. Mrs. Bobbie I thank God for u we went threw a lot, I've never meet such a caring staff keep up the good work
I first met Dr. Melvin in March 2011. He has the best disposition and immediately put me at ease. My surgery was on Monday Dec. 5th at 7:30. The entire staff was excellent. When they wheeled me into the OR Dr. Melvin was the first person I saw and he held my hand assuring me that I would be fine. I would strongly recommend anyone looking to have surgery to look into Vanderbilt Weight Loss Clinic and the best surgeon Dr. Willie Melvin.
I have been preparing for surgery since my seminar date of July 5, 2011. This has been a fast process but everything has fallen in place. The staff at Vanderbilt Weight Loss Clinic has been wonderful! My insurance specialist (Bobbie) has been GREAT! She has been right there to help in anyway possible. Now I'm am starting on my weightloss journey beginning on Dec. 5th, what a wonderful Christmas gift. Dr. Melvin has been GREAT! He has been so kind and caring, I feel very comfortable with him as my surgeon. My weight loss quote: I'm "movin on". Thank you staff at Vanderbile Weight Loss Clinic!
I would like to say, Dr Melvin is one of the greatest people I have ever met in 42 years! He is all for the patient. There was an immediate calmness that came over me the first time I met him. I knew I was in the greatest hands. I was very doubtfull, but have made it thru the surgery and can say he has played a major role in placing me on the right path. If you want a caring doctor, one that will be for you, firm and giving this is the best! You will no longer be just a number!

Actually i did a lot of research before picking my surgeon. I knew other people who had used him and also read lots of testimonials of others who have had success. He was exactly the dr. i was looking for and he's a wonderful support system. His office staff are really helpful and have answered every question i've had diligently. I would give him a great rating and the aftercare i feel like i'm in good hands with his team. Both his surgical competence and bedside manner are awesome!
I LOVED Dr. Melvin the first moment I met him!! He came in, sat right in front of me and never took his eyes and listened to every word I said. Then he took both of my hands in his and said,\"Suzette, we are going to take very good care of you\" Wow! what a way to meet the person is going to jumble all of your insides and give you a new life.rnrnI have gone through the bariatric surgery dept at Vanderbilt. I have never been anywhere(especially a hospital) where everyone you meet is kind and helpful. I do mean everyone. from the valet parking to anyone who sees you looking lost and they dont only tell you the directions but they will walk you there. I am soo blessed.rnrnMy surgery is scheduled for Nov. 30 and then I will be part of their aftercare group for life.
I have only met Dr. Melvin once. He was easy to talk to and seemed to be a caring person. I have spoken to a local doctor I know about Dr. Melvin. He spoke highly of him, not just as a good person, but a talented surgeon. So, I feel better about my choice. I will say more later when I have more information. :)
