William Johnson Bariatric Surgeon M.D.
My first impression is there is no way Dr Johnson is old enough for a driver's license, but I checked him out he is an excellent surgeon. His office staff is a caring wonderful group of people who have been quick to help me with anything that I have needed. He did a great job with my surgery and was very good at answering all of my questions. On a scale of 1 to 10 he is definately a 10.

My first impression was at the informational seminar. He was very personable(good humor) and open to questions. When you initially look at the Doctor, you notice how young he looks. As he talks and when you have your initial consultation, you realize how knowledgeable and thorough the Doctor is. The program at Atlanta Bariatics is very structured and organized. I account this to the fact they are a Center of Excellence. Aftercare & Post-op Support meetings are emphasized and required for treatment. I must give a shout out to the staff I came in contact with. Susie Darrow, the bariatric coordinator, was awesome with everything, and Latonya, insurance coordinator, knows her stuff. Thanks Guys!!!! I am pre-op so I have not seen the Doctor's bedside manner or aftercare firsthand, but will update my board soon.
First impression was what made me decide to use him. He walked in and smiled at us instead gawking at the future clients. rnMy impression hasn't changed and probably won't I would refer any and everyone I know to him. Overall he is the best Dr. I have ever dealt with. HE gave me my life back and for that I will always owe him everything.
I began working with Dr. Johnson's office in November 07 and my surgery date was 4/14/08. At first it was a little bumpy, they do require a lot of information that my insurance did not need and look bewildered at some of the items that they were requesting. I have nothing but great things to say about the staff as well as Dr. Johnson! I didn't do my pre-op with Dr. Johnson but with Dr. Hart and I was in awe that Dr. Hart had actually read my chart and gave me the same care as Dr. Johnson. rnrnThe entire staff is personable and every time I walk through the door I feel like they know and care about me personally. They answer my questions and help me in anyway I need it. The office atmosphere actually makes me work harder to use my tool because if I don't meet my goals I feel that I'm letting them down.rnrnAs a post-op patient they have been great as well. I've been able to email the nutritionist and when I felt I needed to come in outside of their set schedules she saw me and really helped.
I am very pleased with my surgeon. Dr. Johnson has a very wonderful personality and is good at putting his patients at ease. His office staff is very busy, but they are so helpful and give their full attention when dealing with the individual patient. They really seem to care. rnrnTheir office requires information for insurance that is sometimes above and beyond what your insurance company may require, but they help you cover any and all bases just to be sure you get approved the first time!rnrnThe support group after surgery at Emory Johns Creek is an absolute blessing and I look forward to each chance to meet. rnrnHe is an encouraging, friendly and supportive surgeon. I would recommend him to family and friends without hesitation.rn

I am schedule to have surgery1/12/09. I have been very pleased with Dr. Johnson. I also think he looks very young. But I am 62 so that might have a lot to do with that.rnThanks to Dr. Johnson and the good lord I came through with out problems. I had swelling and had to drink the terrible exray stuff 3 times. But everything is fine. I came Thursday afternoon late. I am doing great with my diet and have had no problems so for.
Dr. Johnson and his staff were very good to me throughout the whole process. My first impression of him was -- is he old enough to do this?! He looks very young but I didn't want to judge him. I didn't even bring this up when I met him because I figure that he might be used to this question. He was very nice and assured me that he has performed many surgeries. I saw Dr. Johnson briefly when I was waiting to go into surgery then before I knew it, I was in the recovery room. The surgery went very well. Emory Johns Creek Hospital is a beautiful hospital. Dr. Johnson's nurses followed up with me several times after the surgery which was very helpful. I met with him 2 weeks after the surgery. Everything went well with the visit. The only thing that I suggested was that they tell everyone to use lactaid with the protein shakes because I didn't know that I would be lactose intolerant. To find that out after the surgery was very painful and uncomfortable. Not his fault at all but just a suggestion because a few others have had the same problem. I am going to start going to the support group meetings at the hospital.
Dr. Johnson appears very young, but it doesn't take long to realize how much knowledge he has and compassion and excitement for the changes that will take place in his patients. The office staff is top notch. I switched to his practice from another and could not have asked for more assistance and response. Dr. Johnson feels that the patients and doctors are in a contract with each other and their practice believes in follow-up care. I would certainly favor surgical competence over bedside manner any day, but because Dr. Johnson has both - wasn't an issue!!!
GREAT young Dr. that is a pleaseure to talk to and he kept it real at all times. I appreciated the fact that he didn't sugar coat anything when speaking with me. I've only met him once so far, but first impression are what matters the most. The office staff is very pleasant and helpful. If you are considering Dr. Johnson and his staff know that they are very detailed oriented and will make sure all the I's are dotted and the T's are crossed before submitting to your insurance. The y stress that you attend support group meetings before and after surgery. rnrnWill update later about his surgical competence & bedside manner.
