Wayne English Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.
So far Dr. English has been an amazing man he has talked about everything going on to the final point. At first i wasn't really sure of what to think of him, but then after meeting him and talking to him a bit he became an amazing man in my eyes. He talks about the care and all the things that can go wrong and the things that will happen before, during and after surgery to the end. His office staff are amazing also, they greet you talk to you take your time and they are just wonderful overall.
Dr. English was wonderful to work with! Before and after surgery he has shown real care and compassion for me (as I am sure he does for all of his patients). His staff at Marquette General Hospital were just as wonderful... They have made my recovery so much easier...and my progress so much more successful! Thank you to all of you on Dr. English's team at Marquette General!
Dr. Wayne English was fantastic with me; he and his office took exceptional care of me before, after and during the process. He worked with Dr. Carlos Carrisquilla; another very fine Doctor. His office always got right back to me, answered all my questions, made proper arrangements, and gave me the support that was offered from the hospital at the time. I had a minor problem on a Sunday; Dr. English called me back himself, met me at the hospital and kept me overnight. It was scar tissue at the lap site that came loose; it hurt like hell, but was not a problem. It just released itself. What was so amazing to me was he kept saying I am so sorry you hurt! He has compassion
(Passion for helping others) Now, the nutritionist from the hospital was as dead as a door. Had no personality and made no sense, basic food groups, not even a clue about portions, or how we were to eat to start out. she was 100% failure. the psychologist they referred me to was a bonified nut. She herself was at least 100 pounds overweight, did not want the WLS.as she explained it was not for her. OK, then why was I referred to her? All she wanted to do was talk about how I can never eat soup again.about her friends that had the operstion as well as problems with men
( hers, not mine) I went in because I had a friend who was dying.she was banded, it was to tight and it cut through her pouch, 23 pints of blood and in a trama center for weeks, I kinda needed someone to talk to, sure wasn't this gal.
Then,I was sent to a specialist for my ulcers after ward, he put me on previcid and karafate. Well I got sicker and was in more pain than one southern gal should ever experience. It took weeks of scopes and chews and I was not getting better. then I called a pharmacist at Publics. He told me you can't take those two meds together, it would create a volcano, It sure did. I am all burnt up inside. Then when I was feeling better I went in and thanked him for helping me and closed my account because it was his fault as well as the doctors, Drug interaction should be red flagged! So I will say this. All doctors’ aftercare is through their associates who are part of the hospitals referral system. What I know now is that I tell everyone to check out who they refer. The after care was not any type of care at all for me. The Dr. English was fantastic as a lap surgeon. His manners, his knowledge, his immediate staff were fantastic. Fl Medical’s baiatric ward was very good. They knew their stuff. The referral Doctors from them were some of the worst I had ever delt with in my life! That’s why I felt so blessed finding Obesity help, all the information we need, a mass of folks that have gone thought it, with the knowledge, and information we all may need.
My first impression of Dr English, is that he is very caring. All my questions and concerns were answered. He makes sure you understand that the surgery is a tool for you to use. The after care program is clear and concise and structured. That we are ultimately responsible for the weight loss, and if we follow the aftercare program, than the weight loss will be successful. He and his staff reviewed the risks of the surgery. But after speaking with them I feel very confident that I made the best choice for me and that I am in good hands.
Dr. English was exptremely kind, he has a wonderful bedside manner which made me feel calm and secure in my decision. His office staff is professional, knowledgable, and proficient. I did not have any reservations about Dr. English or his staff. They are a relaxed group, they do not give you volumes of materials to go over but do offer monthly support groups and contact to a dietician. The aftercare program includes a schedule of appointments for follow up. Overall I would rate this practice a 9.
INSURANCE APPROVAL -
TAKE MATTERS INTO YOUR OWN HANDS ... IT CAN BE A LONG JOURNEY ... In my case, the 7 months delay in having the insurance approval was because of the lack of follow up from the surgeon's office. THEY ARE VERY BUSY!! It seems to me that if the approval process or the insurance company is different than what the surgeon's office are used to do every day, they simply leave the file aside.
DR.ENGLISH-
THE BEST! WHAT ELSE TO SAY?
