Vishal Mehta Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Mehta and his staff are very understanding, knowledgable and caring. I could have never got through this without them!! rnrnI had the surgery because my quality of life was not at all what I wanted. From small aspects to large I needed to change. I chose Dr. Mehta because he made me feel very safe and comfortable. i trusted him. My appointment was very easty to get, like counting 1, 2, 3. Of coarse i would refer people to his facility. rnrnMy husband is having surgery at the end of February 2007. i was 250% satisfied with my care!! Yes all of my questions and more were answerd.

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH DR. MEHTA AND HIS STAFF. I HAD BEEN SUFFERING WITH OBESITY FOR MANY YEARS. IT CAME TO A POINT WHERE MY HEALTH WAS COMPROMISED. I HAD DIABETES, HYPERTENSION, HIGH CHOLESTEROL AND ARTHRITIS WITH NO HELP I WOULD HAVE ENDED UP IN A WHEEL CHAIR OR WORSE DEAD. I HEARD ABOUT DR. MEHTA VIA TV AND RADIO. ALSO, HIS WEBSITE. I CALLED HIS OFFICE AND GOT AN APPOINTMENT WITHIN A FEW DAYS. THE STAFF IS GREAT AND ALWAYS WILLING TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS AS IS DR. MEHTA. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH MY CARE AND WOULD DEFINETELY REFER ANYONE TO HIM.

January 22, 2007 is the date of the beginning of a new lease on life. Weight Watchers, South Beach, LA Weight Loss and more couln't help me with my weight. Finally in the fall of 2006, my husband heard about Dr. Mehta on the radio. I had an appointment right away with Dr. Mehta. He explained the procedure and answerd all or questinos. Even before we met, Lulu took the time to ensure questions about fees and scheduling. It was her reassurances and informative answers that prompted me to make my first appointment. Thanks to the excellent care and help from Dr. Mehta and his staff, I've already lost almost 30 pounds in one month! I'm on my way to a new life of fun with my family - no more sitting around wishing!

My first impression of Dr. Vishal Mehta was that he was a caring, intellligent, honest and thorough surgeon. He answered all my questions no matter how many I had. His office staff is wonderful. They always respond to my questions/issues in a timely manner and are extremely pleasant and helpful. My surgeon strongly suggests his patients continue to attend support groups after surgery and he always makes himself available at these monthly meetings. My surgeon was extremely honest regarding the possible complications and he made sure I completely understood what that could entail. Overall, I would rate him as one of the best -- he is extremely compentent and has an awesome bedside manner, both important qualities I was looking for. After much research, I think I made the best decision and would recommend him to anyone!

When I first met Dr. Mehta I thought that he was just another doctor. He would treat me, do the surgery, follow up and that was it. Well, I was totally wrong. Dr. Mehta was terrfic with my care before and after the surgery. I met with Dr. Mehta in early May of 2006 regarding Gastric Bypass, he answered every question I had inside and out. He then scheduled my surgery for December 20th of 2006. Right before the surgery of course I got upset, but he assured me that everything would be fine and that I would be in great care. After the surgery he talked to my parents and told them that everything went fine and so on. The next day he came up to check up on me, and like most doctor's I thought that he would come in ask me how I was feeling and that's it. Well with Dr. Mehta he made sure I had everything I needed and actually helped out with some conflicts that I had with the nurses in the hospital. After performing my surgery and attending the meetings, he actually remembers who I am and has a good relationship with me. He's not just a doctor, but also a friend you can confide in that will help you out. I would recommend him very HIGHLY to anyone that is considering this type of surgery. He is an amazing doctor! =)

I DECIDED TO HAVE THE SURGERY DONE BECAUSE ALL THE OTHER WEIGHT LOSS PROCEDURES I TRIED DID NOT WORK. rnrnI TRIED WW, HYPNOSIS, DIET PILLS, TC. I FINALLY TURNED TO DR. MEHTA FOR HELP. I HEARD MANY GOOD THINGS ABOUT DR. MEHTA, SO I CALLED FOR A CONSULT. HIS STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL AND CARING. THEY ANSWERED EVERY QUESTION I HAD REGARDING THE SRUGERY. rnrnIT WAS VERY EASY TO GET AN APT AND THE WAIT TIME WAS AWESOME. I WAS IN AND OUT. I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND DR. MEHTA TO ANYONE. rnrnHE CAME THE DAY AFTER MY SURGERY TO CHECK ON ME, AND I REALLY DID NOT EXPECT HIM TOO. I WAS EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THE CARE I RECEIVED AND AS I SAID BEFORE, I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!

The first time I met Dr. Mehta was 8-20-2005 @ the Toms River Holiday Inn for an informative seminary. I found the seminar very informative with what the risks and benefits were. I was @ the end of my rope with yo yo dieting and decided Dr. Mehta was the doctor for me. Getting an appointment was easy. I had my appointment on october 13, 2005, by October 21, 2005 i was notified I was approved. rnrnMy surgery was scheduled for December 20, 2005. The journey thus far to the new & improved me has been great this far. Dr. Mehta gave me the tools to work with and for that I'm thankful. rnrnHis office staff is not only friendly but also helpful in answering quetions. I'm always telling people about Dr. Mehta and how he helped change my life.

I decided to have WLS because at 23 years old, I felt that obesity was robbing me of my quality of life and I hoped that surgery could be a tool to help me overcome my disordered relationship with food. I stumbled on the MBC webpage after a prominient New Jersey Bariatric Center refused to even meet with me because they believed that my insurance company (Aetna) was \"hopeless.\" Just looking at the web page I could tell that the MBC would be different. I could see through the programs they offered (support groups, referrals to therapists who specialize in obesity, an in-office MD to help get insurance approvals, etc.) that Dr. Mehta and his staff would be the people who would change my life.rnrnOn January 19, 2006 I had my first appointment at the MBC. I went in thinking that surgery might be impossible, but left with a whole new persepctive. I remember being so happy with how accommodating everyone in the office seemed to be. Lulu, the Office Mgr, was very optimistic, yet realistic, about getting my insurance to approve the surgery. She was honest in telling me that it would be a pain to do the six month medically supervised diet and exercise program (it was!), but that she was convinced I would get approved (I DID!!!). Lulu even let me schedule all six of my appointments with Dr. Patel in advance so that I could just pop in during my lunch break at work.rnrnSeven months later and after several of Kristin's tireless follow-ups with Aetna, my surgery was approved!!! I didn't wait another second to schedule my operation...October 25, 2006 became my re-birthday.rnrnIt's now been about 6 weeks since my WLS, and I feel great. I would highly recommend the MBC to anyone considering this surgery because they are thorough, realistic, and most importantly always optimistic. There is no talk of \"hopelessness\" at the MBC. In fact, Dr. Mehta, Dr. Patel, Lulu, Kristin and even Debra Vizzi (the therapist Dr. Mehta recommends for dealing with obesity realted issues) all work tirelessly to get their patients to where they need to be. As a revision patient, Dr. Mehta took a sincere interest in working with me to determine why my initial RNY (performed by another surgeon) was unsuccessful. rnrnAfter determining the stoma opening was too large, there by precluding any feeling of be in sateated, surgery was scheduled. The recooperation has been wonderful and I can only pray the results will be as well.rnrnSecond, only to Dr. Mehta's surgical abilities is his office staff. As a patient of Dr. Mehta, Lulu always seemed to know what to do. *As well as his \"right hand man\"*. She and Kristen were never more than a call away. Any and all problems with insurance or scheduling were resolved in a timely manner. A large part of Dr. Mehta's success should be attributed to his helpful, compassionate and accomodating back office team.
