Vishal Mehta Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Mehta is a first-class professional and person. Dr. Mehta presented a group overview of his laproscopic RNY process, then he met indivially with each patient. Dr. Mehta was even more informative and helpful during the one-on-one interview. Dr. Mehta's office staff were the most helpful of the surgeon's that I have seen. Dr. Mehta basically performs the RNY proximal, rather than distal. Dr. Mehta emphasizes aftercare, and the importance of incorporating exercise in the aftercare program. Dr. Mehta has an established support group and he is seeking corporate memberships to commercial gyms for the exercise program. Dr. Mehta fully explained the risks and benefits of the RNY surgery. Overall, I would rate Dr. Mehta a "10" for having an interest in his patient's, caring, and placing their concerns as a priority to address. Surgical competence is far superior to bedside manner, but Dr. Mehta has both well under control. I only wish that I had called Dr. Mehta when I started this journey three months ago!

I saw Dr. Mehta for a consult last week. I found him to be very friendly and informative. He seems to genuinely care about his patients and the over all problems that they face due to obesity. He has a new practice but has very good plans for future after care programs. I think his bedside manner so far is excellent and although he does not have years and years of experience, he did train under Dr. Brolin of New Brunswick who personally performed two surgeries on my mother.

Dr. Mehta is a fine skilled surgeon. He is articulate, knowledgeable, compassionate and caring. Dr. Mehta keeps personal contact with his post op patients, which is reassuring during recovery. If I had to do this all over again, I would do so without any reservation or hesitation.

DR. MEHTA IS A NEW DR. WHO DID ONE YEAR POST RESIDENCY WITH DR. BROLIN THEY WILL NOW BE PARTNERS AFTER THE JAN. 1, 2003. WHEN I WENT TO HIS OFFICE ON A SUNDAY HE SHOWED AN EXCELLENT SLIDE SHOW AND ANSWERED ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. I INITIALLY HAD A CONSULTATION WITH DR. BROLIN IN SEPT. OF 2002 AND WAS AWAITING HIS OFFICE TO GET THE APPROVAL OF THE INSURANCE CO. FOR THE SURGERY AND IN NOV. 2002 DR. MEHTA'S OFFICE CALLED AND TOLD ME THAT THE TWO DR'S WERE JOINING TOGETHER AND I COULD CONTINUE TO WAIT BUT I PROBEBLY WOULDNT HAVE MY SURGERY WITH DR. BROLIN UNTIL MAY OF 2003 IF I WANTED I COULD COME IN FOR A CONSULTATION WITH DR. MEHTA AND GET A EARLIER DATE.
