I have recently switched to Dr. Weaver. She has a great center set up with so much support available. I should meet with Dr. Weaver next week since my approval has now been switched to her office. Hopefully I will have surgery the week of Feb 9th!!

Went to a seminar held by the doctor and was able to meet with the doctor and her staff. My impression is a wonderful, caring individual and staff that is concerned about the patient and wants to aid in this life changing procedure.

Have my first meeting with the educational Dietitian this afternoon. WIll have to attend (Doctor requirement) 4 educational classes held each wednesday prior to scheduling the visit with the doctor to arrange surgery. Office staff is filing the insurance request and I have not heard anything regarding this yet.

I am quite excited about this and can't wait to get the process moving! WIll keep this updated as things progress.

Dr. McGrath-Weaver is an excellent physician. I cannot say enough about the caring way that she treats patients but yet is agressive if there is any type of problem. She is very structured in this program but yet is flexible to meet a patient's individual needs in any way she possibly can. I feel very blessed to be under the care of such a wonderful doctor!

You can not ask for a better person than Dr. McGrath. She really cares about her patients as a person and not just another case. I would reccommend her to anyone looking for a surgeon around the Memphis area.

I am awaiting a new approval letter from BCBS due to me changing doctors. The staff has been wonderful and are very knowledgable regarding surgery procedures. Once paperwork comes back, I will meet with Dr. McGrath. Met with Dr. McGrath on Sept 26th and already have a surgery date. She was very thorough in explaining the risks and what to expect afterwards. She also answered very specific questions I had in regards to her credentials, how many she had done, follow-up care, etc.

I first attended a seminar conducted by
Dr. McGarth before she moved her practice to
Memphis back in April 2003. I was very impressed
becaused she friendly, patient and very confident.
She talked like she knew what she was talking
about. I knew I could put my trust in her
abilities. She is a fellow from Ohio State
University Medical Center where she specialized
in bariatric surgery.
I had personal consultation with her prior
to my insurance approval and she made me feel
very comfortable as she discussed the procedure
with me as well as the risk involved.
I had already attended four (4) nutritonal classes
where I was taught what to expect as well as
the foods that should be consumed and how
to prepare them. We even had a "tasting session on
our last class so we would know in advance of what
we liked and disliked. It was great and a time
saver.
So far my interaction with Dr. McGrath has been
simply great. I don't expect anything less in the
future. I highly reccommend her!

Dr McGrath and her staff, Leslie and Ginger and Kara are so very kind and helpful.
Without their optimism and support, I would not be able to endure this waiting game.
