Dr.Virginia McGrath-Weaver is a very sweet person with good beside manners and her offic staff is the same. Dr. McGrath-Weaver talked about the risks of the surgery I would rate her a 10.

Was transferred to Dr. McGrath when My surgeon Dr. Alston retired.
I can say nothing other than that she was absolutely fantastic. She was such a pleasure to be around and so competant in her abilities. The fact that I have had no complications or problems from day one is a testiment to her skill and understanding of bariatric problems. Keep up the Good work Dr. McGrath! And a big shout out to yuor staff and clinic workers. even the Protein Nazi Ginger(wink).

My first impression of Dr. Weaver was that she is very young; however, after speaking with her and others, she seemed very knowledgeable of her field of work and extremely competent. Dr. Weaver's office is professional and friendly. Everyone seemed to care about my situation and seemed to want the best for me. The staff at the bariatric center are top notch!

Dr. Weaver, along with the staff at the bariatric center, explained the surgery in detail and what was expected of me before, during and after my surgery. The dietition on staff (Ginger) made sure that I knew exactly what foods I should eat to get all of my nutrients and protein needed to stay healthy. The follow-up has been wonderful. Dr. Weaver also explained the risks involved in having this surgery.

I would rate Dr. Weaver as an excellent surgeon. She is very competent and she has a great bedside manner.

My first impression of Dr. Weaver is that she was very confident. Being unsure of things myself, her confidence made me feel more confident in the decision I had to make about whether or not to have the surgery. At first she seemed kind of abrupt but when you are at an orientation of over 100 people, I guess you wouldn't get a warm fuzzy feeling for anyone. After that I was very impressed with her. Her staff is wonderful, they are with you 100 percent, day or night. I have never had a problem with anyone there. After care is a MUST with her, which I am so thankful for, I read about so many people who have the surgery and then just go on with their life. There is such a major before program and after program that there is no way you can mess up unless you choose not to follow the rules and if you are not totally dedicated I don't think she would do the surgery (not sure but I don't think she would). She was very point blank about the risks of surgery and that is good and bad. I was scared to death but it prepared me for the worst and things only get better from there. I rate her A+++. She is very competent and has a great bedside manner.

I first saw Dr. McGrath-Weaver at a seminar at the Center for Surgical Weight Loss at St. Francis Hospital. I was impressed by her enthusiasm for her work and her concern for patients. Her surgical office staff were very professional but friendly, really put me at ease. As for aftercare, there is the Center at St. Francis Hosp. Ginger will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know about nutrition and your role after surgery, there is also a support group and they have a deal with the YMCA close by. Dr. McGrath-Weaver went over all risks in great detail with me and encouraged me to ask questions and to call back with the inevitable questions that don't pop into your head until you are driving home! I think both surgical competence and bedside manner are important. I already KNOW Dr. McG-W has the bedside manner and I BELIEVE she also has the surgical competence. I would rate Dr. McGrath-Weaver very high overall, 4 and a half stars out of 5. Now if she could guarantee no scars, no pain and no recovery time...she'd get 5 out of 5! hee hee hee ;o)

Don't know much about Dr. McGrath-Weaver, except that her credentials are extremely high and she has a very pleasant manner.

I had my surgery on the 19th and I'm doing fine, so I guess she's AOK!

Dr. McGrath was very informative and answered all 55 questions that I had for her without seeming upset about it. Her office staff is very nice also. I think it is imperative that all patients go through the nutrition class with a nutritionalist. Dr. McGrath requires you to attend these classes. Ginger Armistead was the nutirtionalist. Her classes were very informative. I would rate Dr. McGrath an easy 10 out of a scale from 1 to 10!

Dr. McGrath-Weaver and her staff at Saint Francis were great. They are all sincere and caring. I really have nothing but good things to say about them and my experience. They did require prospective patients to attend a seminar and four classes that addressed the surgery and nutrition. Aftercare is stressed and the patients do go into the Bariatric Center once a month for a weigh in and counseling. The risks were addressed and although it has not been easy I do not regret the surgery in any way. I have lost approximately 180 pounds in less than a year. I would rate Dr. McGrath-Weaver as excellent. Her bedside manner is great and I feel very confident about her surgical competence.
