I have been really happy with the staff at Dr. Brown's office. They were very helpful and took time to answer any questions I had. I never felt like I was a bother to them. Then I met Dr. Brown, he was really nice. I felt totally comfortable with him.
He explained the procedure and answered all of my questions. After meeting with him, I met with the nutritionist, Kelly. She was as wonderful as the rest of the staff.

I was not sure what to expect before I went to see Dr. Brown, he and his staff (all of the staff) completely put my mind at ease.

Dr. Thomas Brown is very nice and has a sense of humour, which I like a lot. His staff is wonderful and I truely appreciate all they have done for me to date. I really like the fact that Dr. Brown's program is very thorough, for example I attended nutritional classes prior to surgery, as well as support groups, specialist, etc. He has also made the risk of the surgery very well known. His nutrutionist, Kelly is amazing and I have learned a lot from her. I have already recommended him to my friends.

I first met with Dr. Brown on April 24, 2002. He was working with an internist at the time and explaining things to both the intern and me. I did not feel I was getting the attention I should have but, it was pleasant. Dr. Brown presented himself and highly confident and knowledgeable with a good amount of skill in what he does. I am hoping he will be able to do the Laproscopy with my surgery. Over all, I would rate him as adequate and competent. He is pleasant looking and seems to have a lot of courage and passion with what he does.

I MET DR. BROWN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN JANUARY. HE SEEMS TO BE ALLRIGHT. HE IS NOT VERY TALKATIVE, BUT HE IS INFORMATIVE ABOUT WHAT HE IS GOING TO BE DOING, THE COMPLICATIONS INVOLVED AND THE OUTCOME. I FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH HIM. HIS STAFF WAS EXCELLENT. THEY GOT ME IN AND APPROVED RIGHT AWAY.

1/20/02--I've not yet met Dr. Brown, but I've talked several times to Melinda in his office. Melinda and Mary both seem great. They're very patient and take the time to answer all of your concerns. I will update about Dr. Brown himself once I've met him (initial consult is Feb. 13, 2002--the day before my 24th birthday!).

2/20/02--Well, my initial consult was today (they initially scheduled me for a day he was out of the office). After finally meeting Melinda and Mary face to face, I went in to speak to Dr. Brown. Let me first say that I really like everyone that I've met/talked to in their office. I was very nervous about this first appointment, and everyone put me right at ease. As far as personality and patience, everyone is terrific. Dr. Brown himself read through all of the paperwork I'd filled out, asked me a bunch of questions, and did all the standard blood pressure, heart, lungs, etc checking. He explained the procedure more thoroughly than I needed it explained (always better to have too much information than not enough). He answered every single one of my questions, without wanting to get rid of me, blow me off, or anything like that. I very much appreciate that he was giving me full, long answers to questions instead of one or two words. He also took the time to explain everything--if he used a medical term that isn't common knowledge, he explained it without me having to ask for clarification. Melinda took my blood, Kelly (the nutritionist) did my food diary, took measurements, and took pictures, and I made my appointment for the pulminologist. I don't know how he is as a surgeon, but bedside manner is great. I think I definitely made the right choice! The one thing that I would "warn" about (it's not that big of a deal to me, but I suspect it might bother some people) is that they seem just a little chaotic and disorganized. Not a lot, and not to the degree that it interferes if you're flexible, but it is something to consider. I'll post again after I have surgery!

I have an appointment for consultation on the 23rd of January. I can\'t wait. I am very excited and anxious. I will let everyone know how that goes.

DR. Brown and his office staff are so wonderful. I had started out with another office but switched to DR.Brown. I am very happy and pleased with every aspect of this long journey and would highly recomend using them if you want the best care !!!!

After some bad dealings with a different doctor's office, I switched to Dr Brown. I have not met him in person yet... and I will update this when I do. :) However, I just wanted to say how much his staff impressed me!! They're so nice, so sweet, so caring, and boy are they *quick!! LOL! I have seen nothing but good things from his office... and he does lap surgery... which is also a bonus for me!! With the staff that he has, I would be highly surprised if he was anything but the best! They are exactly the type of people that I would look forward to seeing for my follow up care!! I would highly recommend that you check out him and his office! This surgery requires a lifetime of care and you need people that are going to make you feel comfortable... and people that will work for you!! To his staff... if you're reading this... THANK YOU ALL SOOOOO MUCH!!!!

8/20/01 - I met Doctor Brown in person and he's an absolute doll. He's just old enough to have a lot of experence in surgery, without being old enough for me to think he's senile. He's been doing lap sugeries for years, though he's sort of new to WLS. He took time to answer all of my questions and he made me feel very at ease about the surgery.

Dr. Brown is very knowledgeable about WLS. He was primarily a general laparoscopic surgeon until recently when he started doing laparoscopic RNYs. He has a wonderful office staff who are very helpful and supportive. He has a psychologist and a nutritionist on staff, and they were extremely helpful. They will be available after surgery and have promised to monitor my progress very closely. I definitely feel part of a structured program.
Dr. Brown has an intense aftercare program. Aftercare will start with visits in hospital with the nutritionist and sessions as I need them with the psychologist. Followup appointments with the doctor are scheduled at intervals after surgery.
I was very impressed with Dr. Brown and his staff and rate him very highly.
