Really happy so far! Very compassionate and confident in what he does. Office staff is wonderful!

When I first entered Terry Simpson's office, I felt welcome and supported. The patients in the waiting room were very encouraging and the staff was unbelievably nice. Now that I am gearing up for my surgery in a few days, I have grown to really appreciate them. The doc is really laid back and makes you feel comfortable. He REALLY knows his stuff and helps calm you down. His staff knows all of the ins and outs of the insurance game and coached me through each step of the way. Dr. Simpson's aftercare program is second to none. He has podcasts available, he answers his own emails via Blackberry and is extremely concerned about the successes of his patients. He doesn't sugar-coat a thing, but he is in it to win it right beside you! I can't think of another surgeon in the world that I would rather have than Terry Simpson. :) He's my Band-Man! Now that I had my surgery, I can honestly say that he (and his staff and surgical team) are absolutely the best! I have no regrets and highly recommend his practice.

Dr. Simpson is the bomb.

Dr Simpson is a straight talker and I love that. He is very funny and easy to talk to. His office staff is amazing. Greg, and Jamie and Darcy really make you feel at easy. The aftercare seems to be the biggest part of the program. I feel like the surgery is just the beginning! I will update more after my surgery.

I was very impressed during the seminar. He is a bit sarcastic, but honest and straightforward, which I appreciate. Dr. Simpson came across as knowledgable and I feel comfortable with trusting him with the surgery. During my consultation I continued to have the same positive reaction. His coordinator was fabulous. She spent lots of time with me, answered my questions and was very pleasant. They made me aware of what the surgery will and will not do.rnBoth Dr. Simpson and his staff emphasized the aftercare program, which I think will be key to my success. It is structured and they meet twice a month. rnSo far, my overall rating would be excellent.rnI think Dr. Simpson's bedside manner and experience make him the best choice.rn

First Experience:rnWOW! What an awesome guy. I sent an e-mail asking for a meeting and had e-mails back from the surgeon himself. After my previous experience with another surgical office which never responded, Dr. Simpson is a God-send. rnrnHow did your impression change over time?rnNo. I am so very happy I chose Southwest Weight Loss (www.southwestweightloss.com) as they are the best in follow up care.rnrnHow would you describe his/her office staff?rnVery welcoming. He has a cute dog, Diego, who is also a member of the staff rnrnWhat did you like least about him/her?rnThere is nothing I liked least.rnrnWhat should future patients know about him/her?rnIf you want the best bariatric surgeon in Phoenix, you would choose Dr. Terry Simpson.rnrnHow much does he/she emphasize aftercare?rnCompared to the other clinic I was at, this is of paramount importance. rnrnDoes he/she have a structured aftercare program?rnAfter care is available twice a month at the clinic and cover a multitude of topics and special guests.rnrnHow did he/she address the risks of surgery?rnAll known risks were discussed including death and options. There is an online presentation (EMMI) which is e-mailed to all clients to watch.rnrnHow would you rate him/her overall?rnOn a scale of 1-10, he would be a 10.rnrnWhich is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both greatrnWith Dr. Simpson, you get both. I have a co-worker who had surgery done from him and she ran a 5K with Dr. Simpson. He shows great follow up care with all his patients.

Thank you Dr. Simpson...I've had a great experience going thru my Lap Band surgery. Dr. Simpson is probably the most personable Dr. I've ever dealt with. He puts your fears and concerns to rest in a very reassuring manner. I never felt like I was being stupid to ask a question. I wrote an e-mail to him the day after surgery and to my surprise he CALLED me on the phone. rnrnThe office staff are all wonderful. They are always willing to answer a question and reassure you when you need it.rnrnI haven't found anything I don't like about Dr. Simpson or his staff. If I had to find one thing that was negative it would be that at one of my appointments he was SO busy with so many patients waiting to be seen that his temperment was a little short. He more than made up for it on my next visit. We all have those kind of days sometimes, especially when there are so many things to do and not enough hours in a day to do them.rnrnHe is very dedicated to the care of his patients and he is passionate about helping people to achieve their goals. rnrnAftercare is probably the most important to Dr S. Our twice monthly support group meetings are great. I can't imagine a physician who cares more than him. rnrnDr. S was up front and told me that as with any surgery there are always risks. I had NO problems to speak of and found the surgery to be alot easier than I had anticipated.rnrnBoth are great!!! If you want to have the Lap band surgery I highly recommend you engage Dr Simpson as your Dr. You won't be sorry.rn

Doctor Simpson is AWESOME!rnI know people say that they have a great doctor but he's one that you can see daily that he cares about his patients. He'll email you personally with any questions you have. He's the type of doctor that looks you in the eyes and you know he's listening. I thank God everyday that I found someone like that. I've seen many doctors and it's hard now days to find one that you know understands and wants to help. rnrnHis staff is the best around! They treat you like family and make it a point to know you on a personal level. Many of them have had the same struggles with weight and also have had weightloss surgeries.

I first thought about surgery a couple of years ago and after much research chose to visit one of Dr. Simpson's meetings for potential patients. I went and was very pleased with Dr. Simpson. Unfortunately due to things beyond my control I haven't been able to pursue surgery. I just found out my insurance will cover it and have decided to go back to Dr. Simpson. I have decided to do self-pay because the requirements from my insurance company are rediculous. It's pricey but worth every penny.
