Terry Simpson Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS

I first saw Dr. Simpson in August 2013 for a Lap Band. All of his staff was extremely friendly and very informative with any information (from appointment scheduling to insurance questions to questions about weight loss surgery) I was able to get my Lap Band placed in December 2013. The before and after care given from the staff was amazing. They called to check in on me a few times after my surgery (and before my appointment) and were very supportive with any post-op questions that I had. Another thing that was very important to me was that EVERY appointment I saw Doctor Simpson -Not a PA or another doctor - it was him every time. The appointments never felt rushed - i never left feeling like any questions were unanswered. Doctor Simpson also sends out e-mails to his patients that I feel have helped me be so successful with my Lap Band - My last appointment with Doctor Simpson before I had to move out of state I thanked him for changing my life - He smiled and said "I didn't change my life- I just gave you the tool" -- From the beginning with Doctor Simpson and his staff, this has been a very enjoyable experience !

I had surgery on 1/11/11 and as of 3/8/11 I've lost about 35 pounds!

I have been VERY happy with all of my interactions with Dr Simpson and his office staff. They made the 3 month pre-surgery program, insurance approval, surgery, and after-care SO EASY!! Dr Simpson and his staff are very kind and feel more like family or friends rather than a stuffy doctors office.

I had quite a bit of swelling and bloating after surgery which made me incredibly uncomfortable and a little freaked out for the first week or two post-op. I emailed Dr Simpson on a Sunday afternoon to inquire about this and he immediately called me back to talk to me directly. Dr Simpson even then drove to his closed office on a Sunday evening to meet me and do a slight "unfill" so that I could be more comfortable while I was healing during the next few weeks!!! I've NEVER met any other doctor that would take time out of his Sunday to call or see a patient on such short notice!! He genuinely cared enough to see me and make sure nothing was wrong (or at least to help calm my nerves).

I initially chose Dr Simpson because of his emphasis on after-care and support. He and his staff provide post-op nutrition classes and monthly support groups that are very helpfull.

I would recommend Dr Simpson and his office staff to ANYONE thinking ot LapBand surgery, I am extremely happy that I chose them.

Dr. S. and staff are fantastic. Every time I have ever gone iin, not only do they treat me like a patient who has gone there forever, they treat everyone with the same great deal of kindness and respect.
I had my surgery summer 2008, and ended up having to have a revision and then a gallbladder surgery. Dr. S was there every step of the way. I have done well, since the surgery but honestly, what won my heart over is when he was there for my gallbladder surgery. It was an emergency one xmas eve 2008, and in his words, "the worst one he had ever seen"..which is saying A LOT :), but he was there for me. Coming out of recovery and seeing his kind eyes and smile, made me realize that I was in great hands, and we all are. i have worked with a lot of physicians, and someone with his knowledge, skill, and genuine care of his patients dont come around often. I am glad I was lucky enough to have him take care of me.

Dr. Simpson has been amazing. I had surgery in May two years ago. The office staff have been wonderful to work with, always available to answer my questions, change appointments and handle any insurance needs for me. I see Dr. Simpson every couple of months, he is always professional, knowledgeable, and eager to work with me to achieve my weight loss goal. I have attended the monthly meetings, where I have met some wonderful patients and learned how to manage my life with a lap band. I would highly recommend Dr. Simpson and his medical staff....

Well, where do I begin. I have been a patient of Dr Simpson's since 2003. When no one else would see me, he said come on in. When all was thought to be lost for the insurance, his office fought the fight and got to call me and say, YOU ARE APPROVED. Right from the moment of signing up, the support started and to this date has never ceased to exist. I had my surgery on a Monday, went home on Friday and have been better for it ever since. Am I at goal, no I am not. Am I the perfect patient, no I am not, but I AM a lot healthier and smaller because of the knowledge and talent of this surgeon. He has always been a phone call or email away and continues to be that today. His office staff are like family to me and to all of the patients. Remember though, you get out what you are willing to put in. I have seen patients that come get what they want and then fade away, but believe me, if they needed this doctor or his staff, they would be there for them in an instant. He has the bedside manner of one who cares, but will also tell you what you need to hear. He pushes the aftercare because he is totally committed himself to YOUR aftercare. I would say with this doctor, you do not need to pick between competence, manner or anything, because with him, you get it all. I would totally recommend this surgeon even if my life depended on it, BECAUSE it did and now because of him, I do have a life. I know that some people might post something negative about this doctor or his staff, but those are usually the ones, who for some reason could not get approved and need to be made at someone and this is the easiest way to complain. If you want to know if he can give you the best care, look to those he has done, not the ones that can't get approved. Also remember that most people only have something to say if it is a negative thing to report, other than that, they keep quiet. I on the other hand, feel this doctor deserves the true recognition of what he has done for MANY people.

My experience is an amazing one! From the moment I looked into Dr. Simpson's compassionate eyes, as I tediously asked him a million questions, I knew that he was the doctor for me. His office staff is amazing, especially Jennifer. I had my surgery a year ago and would not change a thing. He has been there when I needed him from the pre-op care to the monthly support group meetings. He is available 24-hours a day via email whenever you need him and I know from personal experience he responds FAST! He is skilled with his hands and kind with his words.

I feel so thankful to have had Dr. Simpson as my surgeon.

I love my surgeon! He is kind, understanding, helpful and listens when I have a concern. He is always available by email through his Blackberry (or whatever he has now). I can get an answer back from him within hours and always on the same day - no going through staff members. He is very interested in \"after care\" and wants you to succeed. He is at almost all the Support group meetings (twice a month)and gets us involved with bringing in recipes, menus etc. He is very inspiring and I can't say enough nice things about his ability or bedside manner. His staff is also excellent and many have been through weight loss surgery themselves. Dr. Simpson is a model of what all doctors should be...friendly and caring!

Dr. Simpson only does Lap-Band and has performed the most in the state of Arizona. He now does Single Incision if he can on you, but I had to have four.

I was impressed with Dr Simpson. He is professional yet has a sense of humor. His staff is the greatest. Its like one big happy family there. They have a very good pre-op program and aftercare as well. He is there 24/7 either by phone or on the web. I feel confident in Dr Simpson and his staff to help me on my complete journey. Future patients should really be assured of his professionalism.
