my first impression of Dr. Boyce was Great he is a very caring and very informing about the wls. The office staff is great also they help out in anyway they can. Dr.Boyce is an excellent surgeon he cares about the patients. Dr. Boyce is very strong on the after care he makes sure you know how important aftercare is like he said this is a lifetime commitment and this includes the after care. He has a great aftercare program.Dr Boyce stressed very clearly of the risks of the surgery.I would rate Dr.Boyce between 1 and 10 I would give him a 9.both surgical competence and bedside manner are very important. Also a Dr who care about his patients and getting them on the right track of becoming a healthy weight.

WHEN I WENT TO MY FIRST CONSULT WITH DR. BOYCE HE SEEMED TO BE SO CARING AND SEEMED TO VERY DEDICATED TO THIS SURGERY. HE HAS MADE A LIFE TIME COMMITMENT TO THIS, SO THAT SAYS ALOT. HE REALLY HAS A WONDERFUL BEDSIDE MANNER AND HE EXPLAINED THE PROCEDURE TO ME VER WELL. HIS OFFICE STAFF ARE A WONDERFUL GROUP. HE HAS 2 BARIACTRIC CORDINATORS WHICH ARE RN'S AS WELL. ONE OF THEM ARE ON CALL 24 HRS. A DAY FOR ANY QUESTIONS ARE PROBLEMS YOU MAY HAVE, AND WHEN YOU CALL YOU GET A LIVE VOICE NOT A ANWERING MACHINE. IF YOUR NOT READY TO COMMIT YOURSELF TO THIS LIFE STYLE CHANGE THAN THIS SURGERY IS NOT FOR YOU, CAUSE THERE ARE GUIDELINES THAT YOU MUST FOLLOW. THEY HAVE A WONDERFUL PROGRAM FOR YOU BEFORE SURGERY AND AFTER SURGERY THAT YOU MUST FOLLOW. ALOT OF SURGEONS DON'T HAVE THIS PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM FEE IS USUALLY NOT COVERED BY YOUR INSURANCE CO., BUT THERE ARE SOME THAT WILL PAY FOR IT AND IT IS $3000.00. IT'S SEEMS LIKE A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY, BUT WHEN YOU JOIN THE PROGRAM YOU WILL SEE THAT YOU WOULD'NT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITHOUT IT. BELIVE ME, I KNOW. DR. I went to an informational seminar hosted by Premier Surgical in June 2003. Dr. Boyce and his staff were very friendly and almost too patient. I was frustrated by the prevalence of the victim mentality among the attendees and their apparent need to express that attitude. Dr. Boyce and his staff very patiently listened and addressed each and every one (in spite of the growing frustration among the other attendees). I am absolutely 100% not a victim of anything or anyone except my own overindulgences. I do not and will not accept a victim label.

In August of 2003 I made my decision to pursue WLS to help correct a lifetime of poor eating habits and made an appointment with Dr. Boyce. Jama was of invaluable assistance. The staff is very friendly and personable. Dr. Boyce seems very caring, is very organized and knowledgeable, and has a highly structured program designed to promote the patient's success. His whole program has a sense of excellence and integrity. I believe he is truly in this business to meet the patient's needs and not for the money.

Frist impression was great he was nice and very caring. His office staff is great and are very nice. He emphasizes aftercare very much he has a very good program set up. I would give him a overall 10. Both are great.

Dr. Boyce is a really nice person. He seems to care about you and really listened to what I had to say. I also think he has a great staff. Jama is wonderful and so is Johnnie. He has a special program set up just for WLS patients. Before and After the surgery. The best thing about this whole experiance so far is Dr. Boyce's office and how they have treated me like I am a top priority to them.

Dr. Boyce seems to be a very careful doctor. I was very impressed with him more importantly my husband David was impressed and he is a hard sell. He explained the surgery and answered questions. Doctor Boyce's staff has been terrific. He also has a program set up for aftercare and he makes it clear that this is a whole program. The aftercare is as important as the surgery. Doctor Boyce seems to be a very caring man. I have some heart and lung problems so as soon as I get through the test I am hoping to have surgery. I will update as I go along.

Dr. Boyce and his staf is great.
He is down to earth and easy to talk to.
His staf is always there for anything you need.

I was very impressed with Dr Boyce himself. He was very knowledgeable and very concerned about his patients. His office staff (office manager) seems to know little about what insurance will and won't pay for and put together a package program along with the surgeon's fees that includes psych eval, diet education, a personal trainer, and 90 of excercise equipment. (membership at a local health club for 90 days). The fee for that is exorbitant and she claims these items are never paid by insurance, when in many cases, most of it is.
Update: I've had my consult with Dr Boyce. He is a very nice person. His staff has gone above and beyond the call of duty help me out. His program fee has been reduced from $5000 to $3000 and they are currently setting up a sliding scale fee for those who are income eligible. I've spoken with 2 hospital nurses who state that Dr BOyce is an excellent surgeon and he did know his stuff when we spoke. I believe I've made the right decision by sticking with him, in spite of initial reservation.
6/1/03-Dr Boyce was excellent with me. My surgery went off without a hitch and with no complications. He and his staff are by far the best office I have ever been to.

He was pleasant and professional. He answered all of my questions thoroughly. Dr. Boyce's insurance clerk, Karen was a big help. I appreciate all she has done with calling the insurance companies frequently in order to obtain a pre cert for me.
