Stanley Hahn Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

Dr Hahn is now located in my town here in Iowa. He performed my surgery in October 2012. Prior to surgery I attended one of his seminars which was extremely informative. I then utilized the clinics Weight Management services for 6 months prior to surgery in an attempt to lose weight with out a surgical procedure with some success...but reached a plateau that i was not able to break through with diet and exercise. Dr Hahn was very supportive and helped me make an informed decision to have Roux-en-Y surgery. I was in the hospital for one extra day because of a unexpected complication but after that my recovery was smooth sailing! The clinic staff has been wonderful throughout the entire process and I always look forward to my follow up appointments to see all of them. So far, I am down 68 pounds since I had my very first appointment a year ago; and I am looking forward to getting to my goal/healthy weight.

I really liked Dr Hahn, but the office staff left a bit to be desired. I got calls for lost paperwork or they did not get it. I would call and get different answers to the same questions when trying to follow up with insurance submissions. Once they got it together, I was approved in a few days. They did have someone quit the office suddenly in their defense and I did my best to understand the situation. Needless to say, I am glad this portion is out of the way for now. I just hope the my lab work paperwork does not have the same issues.

I had RNY with Dr. Stanley Hahn in August of 2002. My starting weight was 405 lbs. My goal was 175 lbs. I have lost 245 lbs. and now weight 160 pounds, exceeding my original goal of getting down to 175 pounds. rnrnMy experience with Dr. Hahn and his staff could not have been better! Dr. Hahn came highly recommended, and my surgery was letter-perfect. His surgical skills are excellent, and he always took the time to answer any question I might have. The fact that he is local to me is an added bonus! rnrnHis staff are so friendly and supportive. Visiting the office for aftercare and followup has always been something that I look forward to. Dr. Hahn also runs a support group that meets once a month, such an important aspect for weight loss surgery patients.

My first impression of Dr. Hahn was a pleasant one. He seem very nice and he didn't mind if I ask him hundreds of question which I did.We sat in his personal office and went over the procedure and it risks of the surgery in which I will be having.We talk about different WLS. I decided which would be the very best for me and He started the ball rolling. His office staff I wasn't so happy with.I have notice that there always new nurses on each visits. No one seems to stay very long. Overall so far so good.

Dr. Stan Hahn will be doing my surgery. From the first consultation I was very impressed by him. His staff will keep you updated with all the information you know. And so far everything is going very smoothly.rnrnWill update before/after surgery.

I was banded on 11/30/2007. I have done extensive research not only on the procedure, but also on the physician preforming the surgery. Dr. Stanley Hahn is the greatest! Having worked for over 8 years in the medical profession (as a radiology technologist) I have been around many physicians and everything that I have heard about Dr. Hahn has been extraordinary. He is a very kind and caring physician. He always took his time with any questions I might have. I was very comfortable with his knowlege and experience as my surgeon. He has a gently disposition, as well as an experienced and successful surgeon. I cannot say enought great things about his office staff! They are superb! One of the required criterias that I looked for was not only a great surgeon, but also a friendly, experience, AND AVAILABLE staff. I needed a office staff that, if I had any questions or problems, I would be able to talk to a PERSON and feel that they would be able help me. The office totally took care of any insurance requirements and everything went smoothly after having to resend some information that the insurance company needed. Kim is absolutely wonderful. She would go the extra mile for any of Dr. Hahn's patients IMO. Dr. Hahn's aftercare program is excellent. He follows up and cares for each of his patients. When I talked to Dr. Hahn about the LapBand, he was very thorough about what to expect for surgery and also life after surgery. Dr. Hahn went into detail about surgery risk, possible complications etc. His bedside manner is wonderful AND he is a very competent surgeon. I have the upmost respect and trust in Dr. Stanley Hahn and feel very blessed to have him as my surgeon. I also feel blessed to have an office staff that is available whenever I have a need or just need some encouragement. Thanks to Dr. Hahn and his staff for taking great care of your patient!!!!! The follwing statements are only my impressions from my experience with Dr. Hahn and his staff. I'm in no way making a statement about what other people may experience. rnrnThat said,rnI did do a lot of research while looking for a surgeon and saw a couple of them before deciding on Dr. Hahn. I talked to several of his patients online, and several nurses at the hospital where he operates, and always heard glowing testimonials. In person he impressed me with the way he listened closely to my concerns and questions, then addressed them one by one. I never felt rushed, and he took the time to explain the different options to me. He explained the risks involved and made sure that I fully understood them. rnHis staff has been amazing. They've handled the insurance company for me and kept me informed, pulled strings and jumped through hoops to get me scheduled before the end of the year and put up with my nervousness without complaint.rnrnI'll be sure to post a follow up after surgery.rnGod Bless.

My first impression with Dr. Hahn's was great. I went in with a list of question and the husband also had his concerns. But for every question both of us had we didn't have to ask him not of the questions. As he spoke I just checked of the answer to what I wanted to know. He's great, His talk give you all the information that you need. But If you have more question he give you time to voice your concerns and question. He let your know what to expect and what not to do. He's a very gentle spoken man but you know that he very concerned with his patients. He'll make several trips a day to see you in the hosiptal when you are there. And may sure that you are getting everything that you need. Yes Dr. Hahn's have a aftercare programs that meet and talk about weight ,proteins,getting in all the water you can,plus all the vitamin. He has a great staff, they are alway there when you need them all you have to do is call. Someone is always there to answer any questions. If they are not there they will get back to you as soon as possible.To rate him I'll rate him a 10 are above,both his surgical competence and bedside manner is great.

He was really great. He answered all of my questions and he was really nice. I was put at ease after speaking to him. Patients should know that he isn't as young as he looks. He does have an aftercare program and he will travel to Bmt. for appts. He made sure to emphasize all the risks of surgery and give all the stats of related deaths and possible problems after the surgery. Overall, I would rate him a 10 on scale of 1 to 10.

My first impression of Stan Hahn was very passive and very confident in his work. rnOver time I have become more motivated to learn about some of the surgeries he has preformed. The staff under Dr. Hahns is very helpful and will answer any questions that you may have. Kay works for him and has been my lifesavor, thanks girl for all your hard work and time!!! rn My surgery date is set for Feb. 26,2007 rnI am so ready for it.
