Pre-Op Consult...Dr. Jones was very nice and understanding. The only thing I didn't like was that if you're not organized when she walks in for the one-on-one consultation, you may feel flustered or rushed. She has a lot of people to see in a limited amount of time. But I will say that she is very personable, honest and answers all of your questions thoroughly. She even agreed to let me listen to my calming tape on head phones while in surgery. ~~~~ I have a surgery date set up for June 7, 2002 for Laproscopic RNY. I'm curious to know if anyone else is researching this option (Lap) or if anyone has had laproscopic RNY with Dr. Jones. I'd love any and all feedback!

</font color-red>I had my lap RNY on June 6, 2002 and everything went great! I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon. I have had no physical complications since surgery and everything healed quickly. I even went back to work after only taking one week off for surgery and recouperation!!</B>
she is very informative and answered all my questions with the upmost concern. my impression has not changed but i am just beginning my journey. the office staff is very helpful and professional. i really cant say that i was displeased with anything about dr jones. she is very straight forward and to the point. very honest. she strongly emphasizes aftercare and lets u know that this is not going to be a piece of cake. she talked only briefly about the aftercare during the consultation. yes she did address the risks of surgery she also gave us a sheet of paper with all the risks wrote out for us so we could read them at a later date as well.i would rate dr jones a 10 overall
Dr. Rosemarie Jones is a very personable lady. She makes you feel comfortable and is professional in every aspect. She keeps you informed with each step of the journey and asks questions pertaining to your health and progress. Her office staff is very helpful and knowledgable. The only negative point I can make about Dr. Jones is the fact that she is so busy and sometimes the office visits are spent waiting on her than the actual check-up itself. So far, so good.
My first impression of Dr. Jones, in the group consultation, was of someone very quiet but also very sure of herself. I spent very little time with her individually--maybe 5 minutes--but I understand that the program is very busy. I actually find that very comforting; Dr. Jones has a LOT of surgical experience. And even though she was rushed, she seemed to be listening to my concerns about my surgery date. The aftercare program is definitely emphasized. As rushed as Dr. Jones was, she took me quite seriously and arranged for me to get a VERY early date so I could have it before school started again; for that, I'm more thankful than I could ever express.
My surgeon has been changed was changed back to Dr. Jones. She had an opening that worked well with my work situation. Both Dr. Jones and Dr. Cacucci assist one another, so we get the best of both.
A very personable lady. Made sure I did not have any questions. Informed me with my recent loss of weight that I could now have my surgery laproscopically. Cap high of the weight is 300.
Keep up with the office. The girls are not real good at calling people back. I just became a pain in the butt, calling everyday.
Surgery is over, and she is great. She was there everyday. Very sensitive and soft spoken lady. She is great, I would recommend to anyone.
My initial appointment with Doctor Jones on May 29, 2002, was to discuss abdominal adhesions. However, I had been thinking about bariatric surgery for quite some time and decided to discuss my options with her. I found her to be extremely professional as well as genuinely interested in my history, concerns, questions and feelings. I left her office feeling resolved and comfortable with my decision to have surgery. She will either fit me in if there is a cancellation or I will most likely be scheduled for mid-July. I will go through surgery preparation and have any other questions answered during a day-long session. Her office staff was friendly and accomodating. That is all I know thus far. I would recommend her.
May 21, 2002 -- I changed surgeons from Dr. Huse to Dr. Jones. When I finally received approval for surgery in March, Dr. Huse would not be able to schedule my surgery until October 1, 2002.
I was also concerned that Dr. Huse wasn't scheduled to learn about lap RNYs throughout the spring.
Dr. Jones was already performing laps and was one of my initial surgeon choices during my review of who's who.
Dr. Jones was wonderful and confident that she could perform a lap RNY on my by mid-summer.
True to her word, I am scheduled for surgery on June 24, 2002.
August 24, 2001 -- My father, husband and I went to the information session together.
My husband is supportive of me and the benefits of the surgery, my father went to the session to play "devil's advocate" and change my mind about the surgery with his "pointed questions".
After our meeting with Dr. Huse, my father was very positive about the surgery. Dr. Huse was straight to the point and wouldn't even discuss anything cosmetic regarding the surgery.
He was very upfront about all of the questions -- including "How many patients have you lost?" I blanched, but he remained calm and explained the individual circumstances on the 3 deaths out of 1,500 surgeries.
Dr. Huse answered my questions thoroughly; however, I have thought of several more questions since the session (i.e. recovery time) and hope I have the opportunity to cover all of the bases soon.
His staff was very nice and told me to check with insurance in two weeks regarding coverage.
August 30, 2001 -- Called to confirm my information was sent out to insurance and they are behind. It doesn't look like my information will even reach insurance for another two weeks. This is very disappointing.
Dr. Rosemary Jones was wonderful. She has a perfect attitude and did a good job. Never in a hurry and very helpful to explain anything. Would not send anyone elsewhere. Office staff was fine, and Hospital staff very good. The whole program is very structured, and has to be one of the best in the country. It was worth the wait. I attempted to get started in August of 2001, and finally waiting on approval from the insurance company, had surgery March 28, 2002. I have lost 30 pounds in four weeks. I would rate Dr. Rosmary Jones as AAAAA Plus, as a Surgeon and a Person. God Bless.
My first impression of Dr.Jones was confidence, she appeared to have alot of confidence and pride in what she does and I loved that. She was very friendly and informative also she was very small, which means she has small hands, which means small incision, which is always good when you are having open RNY.
