I had a Rou-n-y in April 2000 at St. Vincent Carmel, Dr. Rosemarie Jones was the sergeon. I have had luck with the weight loss however 4 days after my initial surgery I had to have emergency surgey cause one of the staples came out. Since then I was off work for 3 months, in & out of the hospital on a weekly bases, dehydrated, bleeding, my incision would not heal from the inside, it was just a number of things for ever. In 2007 I had to have a pic line put in & had a tmp for 3 months, one year later in 2008 I was throwing up blood & blood in my stool. I was admitted to St. Vincent early Sunday morning, when Dr. Jones came in on Monday morning she just look at me & said well, the blood is coming from some where so when you get insurance come back & we will figure out where it is coming from. WOW was that a way for a Dr. to talk or treat a patient? I ended up have several blood transfusion from a different Dr. at a different hospital they actually saved my life & I did not even have insurance. I have been diag. with Chirrosis of the liver & every other thing that goes along with it & 3 liver specialist & 2 other hospitalists told me I should of never had the surgery that was the reason that I have ended up with so much bad health. So even though I lost 225lbs. my life, health mental & physically are so much worse than I would of ever imagined. Dr. Jones & I had talked before & discussed that no other surgeon would touch me due to the way my stomach was/is & the complications that I have had & still she told me to come back whenever I had insurance. Im not sure about anyone else but it is almost impossible to get insurance if you have had bypass surgery, In 2011 I finally got Medicaid & when I called Dr. Jones she had moved her practice to another hospital & when I called I was told she does not take Medicaid. IMAGINE that.

I am an RN so am very familiar with physicians and feel I can accurately provide a more informative review. I have also been very ill and had many patient opportunities with different Dr. I have never met any physician as caring and friendly as Dr Jones. Also very good at relating to her patients and explaining in a way that can be understood. She is experienced in this field also. My surgery went very well and I have attained my weight loss goal in short order with virtually no complications from the surgery. I believe in choosing a physician who is very experienced in her field cuts the chances of complications greatly. If complications do occur I am secure in the fact that she would be very helpful in resolving or coping with anything that would come up. Dr Jones is always smiling and always courtious and caring in her approach to her patients. She is very approachable and easy to talk to and listens to what you say to her. My experience with surgery has been a life saving event and a wonderful change in my life. It is the best thing I have ever done for myself and am so happy to have been able to have this experience. If I had know a long time ago how easy the process is I would have done it long ago. I am eternally greatful to Dr Jones for my new life.

I am a patient of Dr. RoseMarie Jones. 9 years ago she performed the Roux en Y Gastric Bypass on me. Unfortunately I've had ALOT of complications, still to this day, but she's NEVER given up on me and she's helped me to get through them. You'll NEVER find another doctor as loving and caring as RoseMarie Jones.
Had RNY gastric bypass 5/7/01 and Dr. Jones continues to steer me in the right direction over 11 years later. I was in Scottsdale, Arizona went to the ER because I thought I had a kidney stone. Well my lab results were abnormal, and the ER dr. decided he wanted to keep me for the night. I am a nurse and it was super hot in AZ so I knew I was more than likely just dehydrated as I had not pushed my fluids that day. The ER doc seemed to think I had an issue going on with one of my kidneys. I did have some back pain, and severe pain in my abdominal area--but not really knew, but the pain kept getting worse. After all sorts of testing over 5 days they diagnosed me with colon cancer, and told me I would need my entire colon removed. There was a colon/rectal surgeon consult done and I was not convinced that is what was going on and I was so uncomfortable having such a radical surgery being so far away from Indiana. I told them I wanted to leave and come to Indiana for any sort of surgery as such and I wasn't comfortable not knowing any of the doctors credentials. I was stabilized and discharged with instructions to immediately follow up with a surgeon once I got home. I left that hospital after being my own advocate as they told me it was against their advice to leave and I should remain their for the surgery. After discharge and before boarding my flight to come home I called Dr. Jones which was on a Friday afternoon there, but with the 3 hour time difference her office was closed. Luckily for me the answering service said Dr. Jones was on call and I got them to page her for me. I was so happy to hear her voice explained my crazy story with all the discrepancies they kept repeating during my care. She was amazed and told me to come to the hospital once I arrived. We decided after my labs were a bit stable that I would come to Community North on Monday for admission. She called in Dr. Shah as she knew this was a complicated case, which he did a repeat colonoscopy and ruled out colon cancer. She then took me to surgery to figure out where the pain was coming from. She found an internal hernia and made the repair. If it had not been for her knowing how to sort all the issues out I would be without a colon. So I most defiantly consider her my guardian angel. When I was faced with this massive issue she was the first person to come to my mind as I knew she would know where to proceed. I trusted her with my life, and would not hesitate to tell anyone that you will not go wrong by choosing her as a surgeon. She is the most loving, caring doctor, and being a nurse I have been around alot of them. I know this was a long story but just want to highlight how awesome, and caring Dr. Jones is. She is a 5 star in my eyes!!!!!!!

Dr. Jones did one terrific job with me and my beloved late wife, Francine. Sadly, however, she and her staff over the next fifteen months, as well as our family physician, Dr. Suzanne Montgomery of Morningstar Medical Group, managed to miss how my wonderful Fran's albumin level persistently remained dangerously low, even after no less than eight (8) separate blood draws, all of which stated said albumin deficiency. During the last three (3) weeks of her life, my special Fran was in the ICU of St. Vincent's Carmel hospital. Dr. Jones had no idea my Fran was dying until just about halfway through this last period, and even then, she looked shocked and perplexed. Had she or Dr. Montgomery ever taken a serious look at Fran's blood draw results, they would have seen the problem and could have reversed the procedure in an effort to help reverse it. Instead, the matter was ignored, and my Fran died, thanks to doctor and medical negligence.
It has been five years this Monday (3/12/07), and I have since forgiven both Drs. Jones and Montgomery. I can only hope that should the time they need such medical care, that the doctors treating them shall be far more attentive to their needs than they were not toward those of my most beautiful Francine.
In pace requiescat, my love.

Dr. Jones is extremely caring and professional. I was completely comfortable with her from the start. She answered all of my questions and was encouraging of my decision to have RNY. The only complaint that I have is that I didn't see her after the surgery and before I was released from the hospital. I was however given aftercare instructions and am healing great! I would recommend Dr. Jones to anyone!
My husband and I both absolutely adore Dr. Jones. She is one of the kindest people I have ever met and she is truly concerned about the welfare of her patients. I highly recommend her to anyone considering this surgery. I continue to follow up with her and she is still the same sweet, considerate, smart lady she was when I first met her. Her surgery stats are high and I found that on here, on OH and I found a good number of testimonials to the kind of person she is and they did not steer me wrong.

Dr. Jones is AWESOME! My first impression was that she was patient and glad to answer any questions to ensure your understanding of all of the options available. She made it very easy to choose which type of surgery to have. Her staff was also very knowledgeable and most easily available via email which worked well for me.
There was an 8 hour training class that was helpful in answering questions.
I had no issues at all with the surgery. It was very smooth and I spent only one night in the hospital.
I had heard that she was the best which is why I wanted to her to do my surgery and I definately agree!
I would rate her a perfect 10.

Dr Jones won me over the very first time I met her. A lady short in stature but very large in personality!! She is very sweet and very informative. Her bedside manner is awesome and she is an awesome surgeon!! During the seminar with her she had stated that she being of Mexican and Italian heritage, she knew what it was like to struggle with weight. And that she thinks she has been dieting her whole life. The office staff have mixed reviews from me. Some of them are really nice and some are really rude. Dr Jones really stresses after care and the eating program that the St Vincent Carmel Bariatric Center of Excellence gives you when you go for the day long Nutrition class.
