He is a very caring individual, he and his staff were very helpful and informative. I like that I have persons in the US to call and ask questions (His PA Eric) that answer the phone 24 hours a day and get back to you in a short while. I like that the web site "belighter.com" was "right on" what I could expect and receive. I felt at ease with the surgery and pleased with outcome. I do have to comment on one thing-- because he is very busy you only talk face to face with him very little. I met him for the first time in the OR! However, All staff took excellent care in asnwereing all questions and Dr. Sanchez did call and talk to me several times on the phone. He did give me the opprotunity to see him sooner if I did not feel comfortable, wanted to see him or felt I needed to see him. I truly felt he cared for me as a person not just as patient. His staff included my driver, Alex who makes it known he will come if you need him (to check on you, translate, take you for tours of the City, ) He introduced me to the office staff, took me to the hospital and stayed with me through all of the admission process and made me feel "safe"- Dr. Elmo the nutrician specialist answered all my questions, went over my medical HX, and labs. Made sure I knew the purpose of my post op diet-medications etc. and rounded on me at the hospital several times.- I truly was pleased with the whole experience and am glad I did it!

Sweet and compassionate (and very affectionate).

Has not changed.

Very kind, but speak mostly Spanish

It was kind of hard getting used to the open affection he shows to all of his patients. I believe it to be a cultural thing.

He is very calm, cool, and collected.

His staff makes occassional calls to check up on his patients.

Regular visits to the US.

My surgery is the least risky of those listed here.

I had the Swedish Adjustable Gastric Band applied via Dr. Sanchez. I am extremely impressed with this Surgeon and his assistant, Alma. I was picked up at the airport (flew from NC) and handled with care and professionalism during the entire trip. Even though I didn't speak Spanish and the nursing staff didn't speak a lot of English - we managed to "talk" quite well. I highly recommend this surgeon.

It is scary going outside one's country for surgery and I want folks who are considering it to know that the associated feelings are very normal. I would do this all over again.
