I initially met Dr. Bell at his office with a small group of others who are planning their surgeries. His manner was vey confident as he explained the procedures he used during surgery and he was quite open when he explained the complications that could possibly arise post-op. Linda was also a great source of information and made no bones about the weight gain between that day and when you came back, that if you had gained too much, you would have to lose that weight plus 50 more pounds before Dr. Bell would procede with your surgery date. A great motivation to cancel the Chinese food on the weekend...I feel quite confident in having Dr. Bell and his staff on my side during this journey and wish you all the best in yours...God Bless

dr.bell was excellent surgeon he was very good and polite and knowledge i think great mangement of my aftercare.very concern about my pain mangement.

My first impression of Dr. Bell was good. He struck me as a doctor who knew his business and cared about the importance of his patients having all their questions answered. He didn't try to impress anyone with his knowledge, but talked to us in laymen's terms. He was thorough and kind. He never talked down to anyone, nor was any question unimportant to answer, whether it be about the risks, or what to expect at any time of the process. Straightforward. You kind of get the impression from him that if he didn't have a complete answer for you about something, he would admit it but would find out the answer for you. He didn't try to pretend that he was perfect in any way, but he seemed to be confident and human at the same time.

He explained things in detail, but not so that we couldn't understand him. His patients are important to him and I believe he truly feels that the surgery he does is of utmost importance. It was almost as if he had been there himself, his empathy to others was so profound. I truly believe that he is an excellent and skillful surgeon and doctor of bariatric surgery. This impression was from just one group appointment with him. My pre-op appt. is July 11, 2003, for surgery on July 23rd, 2003.

I don't know first hand yet, but I have read that Dr. Bell has a very thorough and important after-care program, as well as pre-surgery. It is important to him, that his patients commit to following them closely.

Dr. Bell's secretary, Liz, and his nurse, Linda, are a great asset to him, as they are very tuned in to how his patients feel. They both are informed and caring and take the time to help you when you need to call the office, no matter what the reason. They also care about each of us, and try to give encouragement when needed.

I think that surgical competence is most important, but when you have that and a caring bedside manner, it is the best.

very kind, has nice easygoing ways. He has a confidence in his ability that is very reassuring. He smiles alot and isn't all full of himself. He explains everything that he will do along the way... No surprises later on. His staff is first rate. They are all on the ball and extremely helpful and make you feel very comfortable as if you've known them a long time. The aftercare is very structured and you have a copy of it in writing before the surgery even happens. Dr Bell has always been straight forward in letting you know the risks that you are taking as well as the time frame with which you might experience them. He is a first class surgeon and there is nothing that I didn't like about him...

I have just changed to a new surgeon because the first one made mistakes. Had the gastric bypass twice. Now Dr.Bell is going to do something different. A Biopanceridic division. The first time I meet him I was totally impressed. He was kind and concerned about my previous surgerys.

Dr. Bell is a good doctor. He is very thorough and quite charming, plus he is good looking! He goes over everything and his staff is there for any questions. Also his nurse Linda will go over every detail of the after surgery, diet and life changes with you as often as needed! Dr. Bell went over all the details of the surgery including the risks. Dr, Bells' bedside manner is one of a caring person and his surgical competance was why I picked him to begin with!
I don't have any negative comments, everything went well and am on the track to a heathier me!

I finally got to meet Dr Bell on August 8, 2003. He was very nice and knows what he is doing. He seems very sincere. He answered everyone's questions, no matter how silly they might seem to someone else, like each question was just as important as the last one. If you go to support group meetings you can see him there also and with a more relaxed atmosphere, you can see just how much he really cares about his patients. Oh yeah and he is pretty good looking too lol Shhh, dont tell his wife I said that. --- Since the surgery I have nothing but more good things to say about Dr Bell. He was outstanding overall. I couldnt have found a better surgeon out there. Thanks Dr Bell, you have given me the key to the door to my new life!!

9/10/03 - I just met Dr. Bell last night at a support meeting. He seems young, but confident and very interested in his patients. I really liked his style, and I feel very comfortable in his ability. He had no problem answering lots of questions, and it was a very informative meeting.

10/4/03 - I went to the group meeting yesterday with Dr. Bell. My opinion has not changed - he cares about his patients, is very personable, does not mind answering lots of questions and is confident. He also trusts his patients, and doesn't impose any undue restrictions on us - I like that. The staff in his office are wonderful, personable and professional! What a great team!

He is very knowlegable, helpful and will answer all questions. He is an excellent doctor, I could not have asked for a better doctor.

I haven't met Dr.Robert Bell yet. But, I've emailed him several times and he's responsed to each and everyone of them in no time. But, I'm sure he's the right doctor for me. I've heard so many wonderful things about him.
