This man was AWESOME. From the first time I sent him an email at 6:30 pm (well after the office was closed) and he responded to it at 9:30 pm I was amazed. then once I got my approval from my insurance company and went for my first in person meeting he sat in the room with my wife and I for 2 full hours and thoroughly answered every single question to my complete satisfaction. Every one of the people in his office has been courteous and professional. They even have chairs desidned for big people, huge and no arms digging into my thighs. I can't think of anything I didn't like. He feels that aftercare is crucial to success with WLS and has the stats to back it up so I guess I'll follow his advice. His office has complete and scheduled aftercare including free monthly support groups. He comes highly respected by the nursing staff on the surgical floor at Yale New Haven where he works as I have a personal friend that is a nurse there and she asked around for me so I would have to give him a 10 in all areas.

My first impression of Dr. Bell was a good one, or I would have never gone through with the surgery. He was/is very willing to answer all questions you may throw his way and he seems to be a very compassionate, down to earth person. I would recommend him to anyone seeking to have this surgery. It may be a little challenging dealing with his office staff but luckily they're not performing the surgery!! lol

I liked Dr. Bell the moment he walked in the room and started talking to me. He was understanding and concerned about my health and getting to know me to do the best possible procedure. After talking with him I left his office very inform about a possible revision. I like his approach to the surgery. He ask alot of questions about my past health history and present. He emphasizes how important it was for me to comply to the directions given to have success of a revision. He explained and gave me litature on the risk of the surgery. I rate him a 10. Dr. Bell has both surgical competence & good bedside manners.

my 1 st impression was that i love eye contact and he looked at me . and he listened to me .., and i said somethings i havent told others about all the left over skin from surgery.
and he understood me and knows i want this surery not for vanity but mobilty... now its on t o plasitic syrgeon wish me luck will write soon

Dr. Bell and his staff is awesome!!! I felt completely comfortable from the moment I walked into the office.
All my tests and surgery went very smoothly and I would definately suggest him as a surgeon to anyone that asked. I had no complications at all and everything is working great.
Also he is out of Yale in New Haven and the Hospital is clean and the staff is very friendly. They took care of me and made me laugh. My husband said it was a great experience for him, in the surgery waiting room they have this board that tells the process of your loved ones and Dr. Bell came to talk to him as soon as the surgery was done!

I found him down to earth and he spoke clearly so you could understand the procedure. His staff was and is great. There is always a smile on their faces, which makes you feel welcomed and places you at ease.
My impressions about him have not changed; in fact his demenor has endeared him more to me. His attitude and personal concern over my well being was always first with him. There is not a thing that I find I could not like about Dr. Bell. I went into surgery with full confidence in him and his abilities.
Dr. Bell is easy to speak with and you can be very open with him. Dr. Bell stresses what you should do after the surgery and expects you to follow the rules in order for you to succeed in your weight loss. He tells you of the risks of this surgery and lets you make the final decision.
The only word which comes to mind about Dr. Bell is that he is an angel. At the risk of being repetitious, he smiles, is easy to talk with, will go over anything you are not sure of and most of all makes you feel at ease from start to finish. After he speaks with you, your fears are gone.
On a rating of 1 to 10 (1 being the lowest), he is a definite 10.
He is the apex of surgical competence and bedside manner.

Dr Bell impressed me from the beginning. His knowledge and over all compassion for his patients and his field was wonderful.
My impression of him has greatly improved. During every meeting and appoint he was very honest and answered all my questions. I felt very confident that i had the best surgeon and knew my outome would be terrific during and after my surgery.
The staff is wonderful and so helpful. Lynda is tough but not to tough just enough to share she cares. Maureen and Liz are always cheery and couteous on the phone. I have no complaints about anyone.
the only thing i disliked about Dr. Bell was his handwriting....but then they all write horrible...ha ha
To any future patients ...you will be in great hands!
Aftercare is very important to him and all of his staff. So far the program is very structured and easy to do. He was very thorough in explaining every detail of the surgery bad or good. I left without any more questions
Dr. Bell was great in his competence and bedside manner. Overall 100% satisfied
