Dr. Quilici runs a great office. It's clean & the staff all behave very professionally. The wait can be tremedous (bring a laptop or a movie). Dr. Quilici has developed hie own version of the bypass & he strongly recomneds the bypass. He does NOT like the lap-band. He filled the band only once for us. He had a very, very difficult time accessing the port. He did not wear any type of gloves, the site was bloody. A few days later my daughter deveoled an infection, that she battled for several months. Eventually the band had to come out, however the infection remained, & it almost cost her her life. After our muliptle hospitaliztions including the ICU stay she still had sings of infection & a wound that went from her breast ot her pelvis. The last time we saw Dr. Quilici I had taken her to infecitous disease & they had incerted a lPICC line & we were giving IV antibiotics atr home. Dr. Quilici looked at the PICC line & said \"what infection?\" I believe he is an excellent surgeon, however he does NOT like the Lap-band. I would not ask him to help us with another Lap-band.
Dr Phillippe Quilici is an excellent surgeon! He is very kind and caring. He doesn't have the \"lovey dovey bedside manner\" which does not bother me as he is very skilled at what he does!!! He has other highly qualified doctors that do check-ups after post op unless there is a major problem. I have heard that bothers some patients but he is so busy, I have heard that he does about 40 bariatric surgeries a month!!! Highly recommend him as a surgeon. In fact my primary physician that I have been seeing for 7 years, whom I trust with my life, said \"Dr. Quilici or no one!!\"
Dr. Quilici is awesome, best surgeon for this surgery.rnI had the surgery July 28th 2006. I am three weeks out and am doing good, healing very well and getting used to my new pouch. I would recommend him highly, he was very kind and very informative. Thank you Dr. Quilici for my new way of life and my new me to come. Your a miracle worker!!! Shirley Van Vliet, Glendale CA
Dr. Quilici and his staff are great! I have liked everyone I had contact with, and they all answered my questions fully. Dr. Quilici made it very clear what was expected of me in order to have the best success. Dr. Quilici is one of the best and I had full confidence in him. And yes, he's nice to look at too! Not to mention that nice French accent! I didn't see very much of him after surgery, which kind of bothered me, but I saw his associate, Dr. Tovar quite a few times. He's very friendly and really listens to you. He's also extremely good looking, which doesn't hurt and makes you want to go to your appointments so you can look at him! Aside from their good looks, they are both excellent doctors and I highly recommend them both.
He and his staff have have got the surgery and it's procedure down to a science. It's procedural and methodical. His office is ultra contemporary and plaque's of the surgeon of the year adorns the inside of his office.
I hold him in the highest regard to this day. He is caring and compassionate. I had a massive gout attack on my 2nd day thereby prolonging my stay to an additional 3 days and he was kind enough to visit me a couple of days to make certain that there was no blood clots. Although he and his staff could've warned me and /or his future patients about having a gout attack since it's triggered by any major surgery, if you're a chronic gout sufferer like myself. The professionalism of his staff is much to be desired. No return calls. It's pointless to even leave a message. Most notably is the nutritionist and this coordinator, as what she was referred to, who randomly returns phone calls. I feel she only returns her calls if she feels like it. She is a professional in person but her phone etiquette is much to be desired. I felt that she could've warned me about my gout attack since she is a nutritionist and should've been aware of any or all complications. I can't think of anything that is unpleasent about him and his demeanor. The best way for future patients to know him is to speak/contact former patients. Aftercare is emphatically emphasized repeatedly, exercising, vitamins, protein drinks, total lifestyle changes specifically eating habits, etc. and the nutritionist provides a binder in preparation for the before and after surgery. The risk of death is described in the binder and he mentions it on your initial meeting. I would rate him as excellent. I feel surgical competence is better than bedside manner. I couldn't care less about his after surgery manners. I'm more concerned of the fact that he re-arrnaged my digestive system and that what he did was correct.
My first immpression of Dr. Quilici was his deminor was glowing with calm, knowledge, and certainty. I immediatly felt he was very good and confident on what he does. And I then said to myself I will be ok during surgury. As I met with him again I was then sure I had one of the best, he spoke with complete sureness of how it will go. He asked me 3 questions. and said these 3 questions are very important. 1- has my staff informed you of the procedures of this surgury? 2- Has my staff completly made you aware of the risks of this surgury? 3- and are you committing to changing your life style forever. You know when you meet someone and you just know he is a very clever,Sincere, man Who you can just tell he loves what he does. And is passionate about it but at the same time a quiet man.and there's no acting or faking or allmightyness portraying. I truely felt all nervousness subside. I would have to say there really isn't anything negative and if I had to really find something I guess I would say to see him more during the whole process. But then again he is making many people dreams come true. and that takes alot of time.
Dr. Quilici's offices are beautiful and that style, organization and meticulous attention to detail transfers over to the way he runs his program. It is comprehensive, very well organized and his system is virtually flawless. Dr. Quilici has an outstanding reputation and all I heard from hospital/medical folks is that he is the one they would choose for any surgery - not just bariatric. Although he is pleasant and professional, I was not looking for gushy bedside manner. So, his demeanor works very well for me - what I really wanted is an excellent surgeon. My surgery date is March 24th.
