My first impression of Dr. Quilici was that he was very succinct. He was very brief, and since I didn't have questions - he didn't offer additional information. My impression never really changed - because I only saw him twice for about 5-10 minutes each time. His office staff appears to have more work than they can handle - it takes forever to get updates on your paperwork, and I had to pull teeth to get my surgery scheduled at all. In the hospital, I was reassured by everyone I met that he could do the surgery with one hand tied behind his back (I hope he didn't try that on me), but I have full confidence that he's a wonderful surgeon. He did a great job on me, and I'd recommend him to anyone. I would say that his surgical competence far exceeds his bedside manner, but hey - I had my Mom to hold my hand, no need for the Dr. to also!!

I've met with Dr. Quilici once thus far. My first impression of him was positive and upbeat. He's a very nice man. He listens and communicates well with me. I've had two other friends that have had him as a surgeon and they all concur - he's a great surgeon. I will have more to say after surgery and after my 2nd visit with him on Monday 2/12/07.rnrnDr. Quilici's office staff is amazing! Maureen the Coordinator is super nice, informative and on-top of her game. I did have to micro-manage some reports from my medical group to Dr. Quilici's office, but once in their hands, everything ran smoothly.rnrnJulie the dietitian is the best. She is patient, understanding and has all of the answers. And if on the off chance she doesn't - she will find it out. She's been great to me and to my few calls prior to surgery about some issues I was having with the pre-op diet.rnrnDr. Summer Perry did my pshyco-social and she was super nice and fun to talk to. I appreicated her openness and assurance.rnrnFrom the front office receptionist to everyone I've encountered, everyone is nice, upbeat and accomodating. It's been an amazing experience thus far.

Dr. Quilici comes highly recommended. I was referred to him by Aetna who managed to mess around with my request for almost 60 days before denying me surgery. By the time I received approval it was too late to schedule surgery for 2006 and my insurance changed 1/1/2007. During this frustrating process Dr. Quilici's office did not return my phone calls and did not assist me with my appeal. So in 2007 everything needed to be resubmitted to United HealthCare. After it was submitted to the wrong department and after I e-mailed and called Dr. Quilici's office, I was approved, now I am awaiting an upper edoscopy and cardiac clearence before they will schedule me. Frankly, the office staff has done little to assist me and if Dr. Quilici was not an excellent surgeon, I would have gone elsewhere. Furthermore, I'm scared to death of this procedure and if I had doubt, this whole experience would have made me change my mind. I see that other patients have had great experiences, I'm hoping that mine are more positive in the future.

Ok, my first trip to the surgeon's office...I met with Julie, she is the nutrionist. I spent most of my time with her, which was roughly about 45 minutes. She spoke to me about the procedure and gave me a \"binder\" of everthing I should expect. We did a little Q&A and then I was off to see the surgeon. I was escorted to a waiting room where I was weighed and then sat patiently for the surgeon. He came in, shook my hand and seemed nice enough. He asked if I had any questions, which I didn't at the time. He then reviewed my paper work and told me I was all set. So with that, I was done. Left the office and was just waiting for my authorization for the surgery. That came in about a week or so later. So I called the surgery scheduler Maureen who set me up with a date. She mailed out some paperwork with everything I needed to do. I then waited for Julie to call me to schedule a final meeting for a nutrition class. The scheduling of the surgery was pretty quick, it was about a month away from the time of my authorization. The class with Julie was set up the week prior to my surgery date. Friday, December 15th was my surgery date. From the Dr himself, I would not say that there was much emphasis on aftercare or a structured aftercare program. He did not discuss the risks of the surgery or what was to be expected. One thing I hoped for was to see the surgeon sometime later in the day after the operation. I was admitted into the hospital on a friday and released on sunday. The only time I saw one of the Dr's was on sunday when they took out my drain tube.

I had my consultation visit with Dr. Quilici on 12/18/06. He explained to me my options pertaining to surgery and I chose GBS. His office staff was very informative. My surgery was approved by my insurance. Now I'm waiting for my surgery date which is what I've been working towards for about 1 year now.

As a professional, I found Dr. Quilicci to be very professional, amiable and kind. He was willing to answer all my questions and very personable. I only saw him briefly since I didn't have very many questions as I had researched the procedure very well and had had a previous surgeon set up for this surgery before I had to change mid stream due to Blue Cross changing my hospital and denying at the very last minute, causing me to have to change surgeons and hospitals( long story). Anyway. Dr Quilicci was wonderful, they accepted my tests and records from the other MD without hestiation and made my trransition very smooth for which I was very grateful. The office staff was very knowledgable and supportive. The support group was excellent, The dietician and handouts were excellent and the follow-up so far has been great. In the hospital they also had set up a bariatric support lady who has had the surgery who is there for you, to help you through. I saw mostly his associate in the hospital, Dr McVay and Dr Tovar but they were wonderful too , so I didn't mind that.

Great first impression, gentle, caring.rnIt did not change over time.rnOffice staff is very professional and corteous.rnThe only area I would like for him to improve, is the communication with the patient's family waiting to find out news of their loved one, right after surgery. rnFuture patients should know they are in the hands of a very good and experienced surgeon.rnIn the initial consultation you are given extensive literature to inform you about the procedure, the risks and benefits and the nutritionist is readily available to answer any concerns you may have.rnBoth surgical competence and bedside manners are great. I felt completely at ease with the surgical team, as well as the office staff.rn

Dr. Quilici was very pleasant and very straightforward. He told me what his recommendation would be for me, the steps I had to complete before surgery would be scheduled, and I felt very comfortable with him. The most informative part of my first visit was the time spent with the nutritionist, Julie. She was very helpful, explained about the surgery and what to expect post op. Very knowledgeable and nice. There were 3 of us \"first timers\" and we sat in a group for the nutrition part, then we all had one-on-one time with Dr. Quilici. They have support groups twice a week, and a good follow up program (from what I've read so far)

Dr. Quilici is a great doctor! I am doing great and has/had very lil pain.. Unfortunatly the i will say i did not see him at all befor or after my surgery? wich i thought was wierd , And he dident go out to tell my parents i was fine. Wich the nurse says he never does. he is very quick with his office visits as well but i think he just wants you to be prepared for what your getting your self into.. I am very happy i chose Dr. Quilici .Him and his staff were wonderfull.Vanessa
