Dr Rantis is a WONDERFUL doctor. Very personable and really is there to help. He is very encouraging.I would NOT change my Dr for anything!!!!!!!!!!!

I had lap band surgery on 4/14/08. Dr. Rantis was my surgeon and he took excellent care of me. He was concerned about my post-op pain management because of being on pain meds for a herniated disc in my lower back and other related problems, and I appreciated that he was very detailed in my pre-op testing. On surgery day, he came into the prep room and met my husband, and after the surgery was over, came out into the waiting room and let my husband know exactly how it went. The offices of the Kane Center/Suburban Surgical tend to be very busy but I imagine that's a good thing. I ultimately ended up opting for self pay and had a surgery date within a couple of weeks. rnPost op, all my appointments have been pleasant and Dr. Rantis and I seem to have a good rapport. I would recommend him for his professionalism and attention to detail.

Dr Rantis was awesome and very supportive. That was my first impression and also the one I had over time. His office staff is very nice and the insurance girls work so hard to make sure that ppl get approved. The thing I like least is that I usually have to wait an hour or 2 to be seen. I am not sure if he is overbooked but now I make sure I bring a book and get some quality reading time in. He isn't real strong on aftercare so I am glad I am on the boards so I know what I need to do from other ppl. The surgery group has aftercare groupl but the times are hard for me to get to.I had researched a lot so we didn't spend a lot of time on the risks. He felt so bad about how my stomach was bruised. He was worried cuz I am a nurse that I would be a pain but he said I was a very good patient. I would rate him an 8 out 10 and both bedside manner and competence are great.

Dr.Rantis, was a good doctor. He had a good bed side manner.I have very little scarring and he has a lot of experience with lapband.I was in the surgery room and out in recovery in no time.I am very satisfied with Dr.Rantis and everything he has done for me because this was a long time coming.

My first impression of Dr. Rantis is that he was very knowledgeable regarding WLS. He is part of a group of surgeons dedicated to helping people regain their health and lives. I have grown to respect him even more as this year as gone by. He has a very good bedside manner and is very genuine in his feelings toward his patients. He addressed all the risks associated with the various WLS. I have recommended him to my sister-in-law, who has decided to have lap band, and I would recommend him to everyone!

DR.RANTIS IS KOOL DOWN TO EARTH DOCTOR,HE DON'T JUST LOOK AT YOU AS A OVERWEIGHT PERSON BUT AS A PERSON WHO HAS BEEN THROUGH WHERE WE ARE TRYING TO GET.HE LETS YOU TALK TO HIM ABOUT ANYTHING AND HE ASKS ABOUT YOUR CONCERNS AND HE REALLY UNDERSTANDS EVERY ASPECT OF BEING OVER WEIGHT NOT JUST DOING HIS JOB BUT SHOWS CONCERN.DR.RANTIS BEDSIDE MANNER IS EXCELLENT AND I COULDN'T ASK FOR A BETTER DOCTOR OR HOSPITAL.

I loved Dr. R. from the minute I met him and my opinion is still the same. He and his staff are all super and SO helpful. He had a very hard time w/my surgery and he treated me like a porcelain doll. He sees me regularly and emphasizes the importance of after care.rnHe was very straight forward as to risks and complications, both to me and my family. He is just super in every way.

I do not think that it was Dr. Rantis alone that made the surgery such a success. Dr. Rantis is a part of a group of surgeons from the Suburban Surgical Care Specialists, S.C. I worked with many of the wonderful staff at the Kane Center who walked me through the entire process from start to finish. Before you are even seen for a consultation you must first go to a seminar explaining bariatric surgery. You are given so much info at the meeting it is amazing. They cover all the bases, you even get to hear stories from people who have had the surgery. Surgeons come and talk to the group and give you power points. They give you all the information so you can make a informative descion to what surgery is best for you. After the seminar, the Kane Center was ther for everything. Questions, concerns, insurance problems. They really made me feel at ease with the whol proccess (like I was not forgetting to do anything). They have been through it so many times yet they made me feel like my sitution and I mattered to them. I would recommend the Kane Center to anyone looking into Bariatric Surgery.

When I first met Dr. Rantis, I was a little unsure, because he was very, very serious and I tend to joke around a lot. Now that I have been through surgery, I think he is one of the kindest people I have ever met. He was so nice to me during my surgery and held my hand and told me to think of nice things until they put me to sleep. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is considering bariatric surgery. I had tried the bariatric program and the University of IL first, but they were very cold and impersonal. The group at New Self Bariatrics in Elk Grove are very kind, and easy to work with, and my stay at St. Alexius Hospital was excellent.
