Absolutly terrible,it was the scariest experience of my life,,,I almost died due to what I feel to be lack of post surgery care,,,dr billings was more interested in going out to eat with another doctor than making sure I was doing ok But hey maybe he was really hungry,,he even admitted he was worried I was bleeding and he still chose to wait untill he had to be called in to do emergency surgery .I was on deaths door from septic shock because his stitches came apart then I was infected by some bug because of the dirty hospital ,,,STEVENS,,,,,Then he had the nerve to tell my mom I might not make it because im not very healthy,,,I think most people going in for weight loss surgery are not in the best shape of there lives. Then they wouldnt right off payment after all other hospitals gave me assistance since I was off work for a extended period of time,,On the last time I went in he said he didnt want to see mee again,,meaning he wanted to get better but it offended me.but to his credit I didnt die so hes did in the end save my life and I am now down to my regular weight with a loss of 100 pounds,,Im sure this doesnt happen to everyone and I was just one of the lucky few who almost die

I had my first visit with Dr. Billings on Jan 13/10 and was very impressed with him. I felt very comfortable with him and all the staff were more than helpful with anything you need. It was at this visit that |i was given all the paperwork for the blood test etc that had to be doon before the visit that was 2 weeks before surgery. You can contact them any time 24/7 which is something you don't find. During that visit I was told that i would be abl to have my surgery in March. If it wasn't for my husband and |i going away for 2 weeks the surgery date probable would have been sooner than what it is. Date of surgery is March 24/10.
I have since the Jan visit had an appt with the nutritionist.
I have now had my 2nd Dr visit but this visit was with Dr Billings associate Dr Landerholm. I found out on the second visit that there would be both surgeons at the surgery which made me feel more a ease. In all the years since a child that I have been seeing doctors I have never come away from a visit feeling so relaxed and confident. Both of the men are so down to earth and very easy to speak with. They care about you and only you. They want to make sure you are going to be as comfortable as possible.
If any one in Canada is having problems with the long wait list and can possily afford to pay for the surgery I highly recommend them. I also believe that they have a payment plan.
The after care plan with then is over the next two years. You will being seeing the Dr, nutritionist, and someone to help you with an excerise program. You either drive down to see them or you can have telephone call sessions.
During both my Dr visits they both went over the risks of the surgery, what to expect and how your life wil change majorly over the next month with what you can eat from clear on up to puree.
I found the nutritionist was helpful in giving you info on what your new portion sizes will look like and also the different vitiams you will be taking. Also showing the different protein drinks you can get and what you can do with them to make your new life as easy as possible for you.
First impression was he is kind. He is confident in what he does. The office is new and clean. The staff is very professional and persistent with follow through. Dr. Billing and his other partner Dr. Landerhom seem to have a great working team together. For me personally after care will benefit me in the big picture considering my Obesity issues. The Dr. really is focus on the surgery itself. The team in his office and the Pacific Nutrition Wellness Clinic really handle the after care. I've gotten well informed before the surgery itself. Dr. Billings makes me comfortable and secure that I am doing the best thing for my health. I was impressed by the way he was able to sort out all the stuff I had to talk about on in my last visit. Answer my questions and ensure confidence. All when I was a complete neurotic mess. We all have good and bad days and just say it wasn't one of my better ones. He was fully present to my needs during my last visit. I trust my life in his care.
Kind rnNot at allrnSo supportive, engaged, and wonderful.rnI really like my surgeionrnThat he's kind of like papa bear, he wants to help you be healthy and happy. So nice, caring, he listens, and he's laid back. rnSUPER EMPHASIS! He cares about your long term health not just a successful surgery. He's joined with Melanie Machado of Pacific Nutrition and Wellness so that our entire person is cared for. rnHe was honest and let you know that he would spend as much time as you needed to understand the pros and cons of the surgery. rn100%rnBoth are great!
Dr. Billing is WONDERFUL! He is extremely compassionate and respectful, as well as very knowledgeable, competent and thorough. From my first visit to over a year later, I am still impressed with the professionalism of the office. All questions and requests are answered and accomodated. Puget Sound Surgery Center has the best plan for post-op care and accountability, which has been a HUGE part of my success. Your concerns and goals are their priority - they coach you and encourage with honesty. I've received great care and support!
I met Dr Billing at an informational seminar and was imediately impressed at how excited he was to be able to offer real hope at improving people's life. He had so much joy in the job he had choosen. rn He and his partner Dr Landerholm have always to treated me with more honor and resect than anyone I have ever met.rn They have always taken whatever time they needed to to answer any questions I had and some I had not thought of.rn Their program includes a full year of monthly nutritional checks and checks w/ th dr as needed.rn I had a kind of rocky start (in my eyes at least) as I had to delay the first fill because of swelling then my port was tipped and we had trouble finding it and it required another delay.rn Through this they were kind, patient and reassuring.rn Melanie, the nutritionalist is great and has taught me so much about eating and what is real. I am losing weight slowly but steadily, I have learned how much of my eating is emotional and physical. I am near the \"sweet spot\" and so happy I made these choices.rn I found everyone very competent and a blessing.
Dr. Billing was extremely friendly. He was ready to take time to answer any questions I had.
The office staff is great too. They were all prepared to answer questions and make each visit to the clinic a comfortable one. The day of surgery each staff member I saw was wonderful. I loved my pre-op nurse. She was extremely kind. The surgery is done in the clinic and you go home just hours after surgery, which concerned me some, but I was happy to go home and sleep in my own bed. The next day I went in for a checkup to make sure I was staying hydrated and not having any problems. My pre-op nurse was there again making me feeling cared for.
As for dislikes, the only thing I can come up with is that each time I went to see the Dr. I had quite a bit of a wait.
The program is set up great for after care. I have a nutritionist that I will see for the next two years and will have continued contact with the Dr. for a year.
Dr. Billing was very open about the risks of surgery. He made sure I understood everything that could go wrong. That was a little freaky.
Over all, I really like having Dr. Billing as my surgeon.
The only thing I could see them doing better is to give their patients a call a couple days after surgery just to check in on them since we don't have a hospital stay.
My first impression of my surgeon was -this doctor really knows his stuff! He was very detailed on every question I asked him about the surgery. I initially went in wanting the lap band however, after talking to him and going over the options of the different surgeries that were available, we both agreed that gastric bypass was a better choice for me. I am so glad I chose the bypass because I really think it was the right choice for me and my health issues. The office staff immediatley maked you feel like part of the family. I am can't say enough about the surgeons, Dr. Peter Billing and his colleage, Dr. Landerholm, they are both very good at what they do and have an excellent bedside manner and the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel like part of their family. I highly recommend Puget Sound Surgical Center for WLS.
Dr. Billing is very patient and empathetic. He's always been available to us anytime. Everyone at Puget Sound Surgical Center is very kind and encouraging. Dr. Billing will answer any questions you have and will make sure you totally understand the procedure. We know he does this because he wants to help people. It doesn't feel like a conveyer belt there, we felt special and pampered. The aftercare includes follow ups with the clinical staff as well as 2 years support by the nutrition staff. We've also been very pleased with pacific nutrition and wellness. Dr. Billing is a highly competent surgeon and we would highly recommend him or Dr. Landerholm. One other thing to note, they both assist each others surgeries. It feels really good to know that two surgeons are there working on us!!
