Pavlos Papasavas Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

I have had the pleasure of seeing DR. PAPASAVAS twice since December. The first time was at the introduction seminar to learn about lap band, Gastric Bypass and general information about insurance issues and HARTFORD HOSPITAL'S Bariatric program. I also heard DR. TISHLER.rnBoth doctors were extremely professional and personable. They answered our questions very directly.rnThe second time I saw DR. PAPASAVAS, was for my first one to one appointment. Once again he was professional, personable, and answered all my questions. He wasn't \"pushy\" at all. He suggested that I revisit the introduction seminar and then make my decision.rnThe staff is pleasant. They return my calls in a prompt manner.rnAnother nice thing is their organization. I was given a complete list of who I needed to see. (i.e. the nutritionists, psychiatrists,rncardiologists, GI doctors, etc.) along with each doctor's telephone numbers.rnThe list is in a format to check off each of the following:rnday of appointment rntest completed and rnan area to check off when Dr. Papasavas' staff received each result). Yes, it is up to me to make sure that they have all of the results they need.rnThus far, I am impressed.

My first impression of Dr. Papasavas was very good . He was invinting, professional, and talked to me not at me. The office astaff is also very proffesinal and prompt. The office its self is clean and bright. iI had no problems at all during my work up or the insurance approval process. Every thing went smooth. Him and his staff are really on top of things.

Great Doctor

I really liked dr papasavas, he worked at the west penn bariatric surgery center, unfortunatly he is no longer with that practice, so now I see Dr. Gagne, he is absolutely amazing, I couldnt ask for a better surgeon!

I am so excited! I have a new surgeon. I met with him today for the first time and he spent more time with me along with his staff in one appointment than my old surgeon, Dr. Joseph Colella, did the entire time I was with him, since July 26th. The truth is, I have never even met Dr. Colella yet. So anyway, Dr. Papasavas is great. He's nice, thorough and makes sure you understand all that you are getting into. The fact that I was coming to him from another surgeon was not a problem, he took me right in. He didn't have openings until October but since I had all my work done and just waiting on the surgery, he was able to get me in this morning, talk about grateful. I love this man and can't say enough good about him!

My first impression was that he was very nice and informative.

My first impression of Dr. Papasavas was a bit distant. He was very nice, professional, polite etc. But I did not feel immediately at ease. However my opinion did change over time. I just put it to first meetings, shyness, mine and perhaps his. But I do respect his opinion and know that he means what he says and if he asks you to do something it is because it is for your best. I've got to know him better and be much more comfortable with him over the past 8 months. He is quite friendly and seems like a fun guy. His office staff for me has always been on top of things. In my 6 months preparation for surgery during my office visits I have always been waited on in a very short time. I've had only one time after surgery that my wait was a bit long. One can't complain about that. Calls have always been returned in an appropriate time frame. The support staff is great. There is so much information and knowledge from the PA, nutritionist and they have the greatest psychologist. I have found his surgical competence and beside manner both to be great. I would recommend him to others.

The doctor and his staff are excellent! The staff is very effecient and makes the whole process very easy, including meeting the RD and the psychologist right there in the office. You see a PA every visit also the MD. By the time your surgery is here, they know you and you know them. I had a post op complication and they were there for me. They would see me several times a day in the hospital, call me at home.

I would higly recommend Dr. Papasavas and his staff. They were absolutely wonderful. They helped so much with insurance approval. Dr. Papasavas is a very hinest man and answered all questions and concerns that i had. He stressed the importance of the aftercare. Once again, I would recommend Dr. Papa in a minute!
