Paul Kemmeter Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

My first meeting with Dr. Kemmeter I was nervous but with in 3 minutes of him walking in the room he made me laugh! He has a great personality and a good sense of humor. He is very professional but in a down to earth way.He is all about safety, He cares about his patients and it shows! The office staff is nice and helpful I haven't had any issues at all.

Surgical competence is very important to me, But bed side manner is important as well and Dr. K has them both! I give him an A+!

Dr. Kemmeter is a very kind and knowledgable Dr. He is a very Christian man and it shows in his care and concern for his patients and the time he takes to explain everything to you so you are on top of things. My surgery went very well and I was up walking just a short time after returning to my room. Yes, I was sore but that is to be expected but walking made me feel good and I am now up to 2 miles a day and am just in my the last day of my first week. I try to keep a positive attitude and keep in mind why I wanted this surgery in the first place. I would recommend Dr. Kemmeter for whatever kind of surgery you may want done. He is very qualified.

I only had one problem with one of his staff in that she was not on top of things and never called me or returned my calls. The rest of the staff was wonderful.

Dr. K was fantastic, very easy to talk to and I felt very comfortable.

Dr. K is at GHP (Grand Health Partners) he and his staff and everyone at Spectrum Hospital were just great. They explained everything, I felt very calm:) and my incisions are barley noticeable, they look like mosqitoe bites. I can't say enough good about all of them.

Dr. Kemmeter seems to be very friendly, knowledgeable and easy to talk with. I heard him speak at an orientation, then at a support group meeting, and finally at my one on one consult at the end of March 05. His office staff has been tremendous so far. They have been friendly and helpful. I have experienced some difficulty having phone calls returned on 2 or 3 occasions, where I called 2 or 3 times over a 2 week period, but these were more administrative-type calls. I have called about medical related items and have received prompt return calls. The entire practice (Michigan Medical, PC-Center for Health Excellence) ( http://www.mmpc.com/serv/cfhe ) has a very structured before AND aftercare program, with Nurses, Internists, Surgical PAs,Dietitians, Behaviorists, Exercise Physiologists, etc. They are all up front about the risks of the surgery. Dr. Kemmeter and his PA Todd Vroegop are amazing! I consider myself to be truly lucky that they were my medical team, not only lucky but a pretty smart cookie since I chose Dr. Kemmeter.
They are extremely kind, caring and compassionate. They are all about safety 1st! This is very comforting.
They have a very structured pre-surgical and post-surgical program.
Both Dr. Kemmeter and Todd are competent and have great bedside manner.
I highly recommend Dr. Kemmeter and all of his staff.

Dr. Kemmeter and everyone at the Grand Health Partners office is/are great. They are very thorough and helpful throughout the entire process.

Dr Kemmeter is absolutely amazing!!! He has a great sense of humor but also is very honest and real with his patients. He makes you understand that this is not a magic fix he is merely giving you a tool to conquer you weight demons!! He checks on you soon after surgery and makes sure you get the best care. I am so happy that he is my surgeon. He has truly changed my life for the better.
He does have a very structured after care program. You see him, the dietician and the exercise physiologist quite a bit after surgery and I love that you contact the dietician and the exercise physiologist through email with quick questions. He also has some one always on call to answer your questions when it comes to how you are doing after surgery.
He was very straight forward about the risks of surgery. On a scale of 1 to 10, he's an 11.
He has amazing Surgical Competence and Bedside Manner. He is fantastic with both!!!!
The only problem with Dr. Kemmeter was his pre-op coordinator. She wasn't mean but sometimes when I really needed answers about when my surgery would be she would seem to take days to get back to me where if she would have just called and said hey I don't have and answer but I didn't forget about you that would have been better.
Other than that he is the man who gave me a new lease on life and did it with a little bit of humor, a little bit of reality and a little bit of tough love but if you are looking for a fabulous surgeon he's your guy.

He not only is a great surgeon but a wonderful person. I have enjoyed both my personal and professional relationship with him. I work in the medical field and refer patients to him on a regular basis. I would highly recommend not only him but Grand Health Partners as a whole for someone seeking weight loss.

Dr. Kemmeter is great. He really makes you feel at ease. He just has a great bedside manner.

Can't say enough about Dr. Kemmeter and the staff at Grand Health Partners in Grand Rapids, MI. He is such a great person and an excellent surgeon and very thorough in everything. The Bariatric program at GHP is very structured and complete. All aspects of care are done there as well as all testing. They have their own nutritionists, exercise physiologist, psych evals, and all foods needed for pre- and post-op. They do all their own endoscopy, sleep studies, gall bladder scans, etc. They have a very strong emphasis on after-care and are not there just to do your surgery and then let you go. rnI would definitely rate Dr. K as a 10 out of 10!
