THE MAN IS AWESOME, AND KNOWS HIS STUFF. HE'S VERY STRAIGHT TO THE POINT,HE IS A SERIUOS MAN. I'AM A PEOPLE PERSON AND I WAS IMPRESSED FROM THE MOMENT I MEET HIM.THE STAFF I AWESOME AS WELL. HE MADE ME AWARE OF ALL THE RISK O F SURGERY, BOTH HIS BEDSIDE MANNER AND SURGICAL COMPETENCE WAS GREAT. I GIVE THE MAN A 10. HIS AFTER CARE IS GOOD SO FAR.HE ALSO GAVE ME HIS PERSONAL CELL PHONE NUMBER JUST INCASE I NEEDED TO CONTACT HIM , THAT I THOUGHT WAS GREAT. HE GET NOTHING BUT GOOD WORDS FROM ME.
My first impression was that he was a no-nonsense just-the-facts surgeon. He was very polite and informative. As we talked, I found that he has a great sense of humor and I became very comforatble with him. He advised me of the different risks associated with the RNY procedure as well as other procedures. I feel at ease knowing he has performed over 800 RNY procedures.
The only thing that could be considered negative would be that I would have liked to have seen a video of an actual RNY procedure.
I had to wait to see him as he got held up. But didn't mind waiting, i met w/ another staff member who had it done and got alot of my questions answered.
Dr. marymor can seem a bit offstandish but really knew what he was talking about and had the confidence to back up. After talking a bit he seemed to be not as stiff and I think people need to do thier research before hand so they know the questions to ask prior.
It can be intimidating if you have no idea and just go on a whim.
He very much emphazied on the aftercare which is very important and let me know that
the Barix center has support group that meets on a monthly basis and gives you a chance to meet others who had or will have surgery.
It was very important to me to go over any and all risk factors of this surgery and he was clear and concise.
The staff i met were wonderful and warm,
I tend to joke more when nervous and I actually felt at ease while there.
I think surgical competence along w/ a bedside manner is extremly important. You want to be comfortable w/ your dr and not
be afraid to ask questions that you may later reqret.
This dr prefers the open procedure rather than the laproscopic, but at first I was a bit disappointed but after asking him why, i felt more comfortable and would not be a big incision.
My first impression of Dr. Marymor, was that he was rushed. He had the speech down pat, and was going through the motions. After talking to him more he realized I knew about the surgery, and that he didn't have to educate me on every aspect. Also being a nurse I knew a few things. SO my questions to him were very specific and focused. He did seem to care about his pratice and providing this service to the over weight population. After the little speech he gives we were able to talk openly, and I realized he does care about patient safety and I was impressed with the measures they go to ensure that safety. HI did adress all the risks and explained everything that needed to be. The only complaint I have about the experience so far it how hard it is to get a hold of someone in that office to ask questions to. Its like a nightmare, I would rate my first impression of Dr. Marymor of an 8 out of 10.
I have met only once so far with Dr. Marymor and I was please with his professional demeanor. He was very matter of fact about the surgery but very thorough in his explanations. His staff is great and very supportive. It was so odd that for the first time ever, I did not have to wait in the waiting room before my consult! I had brought a book to read but was escorted into the consult room immediately. My initial impression of the clinic is extremely positive. (Barix) I like the idea that this is all they do and they are specialized. I know they know how to treat obese people and I never felt intimidated or embarrassed. Even their chairs were large enough! So far a very positive experience. I will post an update after my surgery.
I really liked Dr Marymor. He's not the funniest person and doesn't seem to joke around much but is very good at what he does. He made me feel at ease with my stupid questions and personally checked up on me twice a day. Very thorough in going through the risks and issues surrounding RNY and makes sure that you understand exactly what he is doing. Overall I am vey happy with him as my doctor.
most of his staff is really nice, and he is very nice, I cant rate him yet, because I havent had surgery yet LOL, but as far as his office doing everything at one place, makes it so much easier for a person, unlike going to a regular single practioners office, where you have to go to a place for tests, another for urine analysis, and another for blood work, and another for ultrasounds everything is done at one place which is really awesome I really loved that, also it is a little out of my way almost an hour, but the drive is sure worth it, so far I would rate them a 10
