Michel Gagner Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Michel Gagner will be my surgeon and he will operate here in Doha, Qatar where he is setting up a center of excellence at Hamad General Hospital.

I met him on one of his previous visits here and he is very straightforward. I like him already!

I'll see him in about two weeks to get my surgery date. I am so excited!

Dr. Michel Gagner was wonderful. I believe I made the best decision in having my surgery done by him. I'm not sure what my outcome would have been if I had stuck with the other surgeon. My only regret I have, is I should have gone to him when he was in Miami Florida. I believe insurance wise, things would have gone smoother. Other than that, he is straight forward, compassionate, and soft spoken. I will be going back to him on December 13th for the 2nd part of my surgery. So for right now, I look forward to dropping some weight and start my road to a healthier new me. I will probably be going to the Rockland MD Clinic in Mont Royal when I come back. I had my follow up visit there. Brand new facility, and Dr. Gagner said by then there will be beds for surgeries that require more than a day.

I would rate Dr. Gagner as a 10. His surgical competence.... he's a wizard with abdominal lap surgeries (that's my opinion). He truely cares for the well being and safety of his patients. He has followed up with me right after I left Canada to travel back to New Jersey, and again about a month later. Can't say enough about him. I would recommend him to anyone for bariatric surgery, especially if you come with complications. No other surgeon would do this for me, yet he did.

Dr. Gagner is an excellent surgeon. He does most corresponding himself, such as emails and phone calls. I wouldn't call him a charismatic man, but he is professional and gets right to the point when you speak with him. I have emailed him several times since my surgery, and he has always answered me quite quickly with a helpful response. He also called me personally to check how I was doing and has given me an emergency # where I can reach him. I would highly recommend Dr. Gagner. And if you need a revision, he is one of the best revision surgeons in the world.

Dr. Gagner is soft spoken and serious. I found him to be kind and to the point. He is a talented surgeon. He also has one of the best self pay rates in the U.S. (19k). Thank you for that, Dr. Gagner! His office staff is very kind. Iliana especially is hard working (give her a raise!) and seems to care about you as a person. Genevieve, his assistant, also responded quickly to my emails and concerns. Overall I give Gagner and his staff in Miami an A.

I called my insurance company to find a surgeon here in miami. The first name they gave me was dr. gagner. I had a hernia. 10 days after my only vist, i went to surgery with him. he fixed my hernia and found a 2nd one, which he fixed as well. Surgery was only about 1 hour, went home 3 hours later. Everything went perfectly. His staff is great and highly reccomend dr. gagner!

One thing that I would like to mention, is that when I first decided to switch from a RNY to a DS, I e-mailed Dr. Gagner on a Saturday evening. I did not expect to get a follow-up e-mail from him until the week, and was happily surprised when I found his response Sunday morning. He told me to call the office and speak with Genevieve first thing Monday morning. When I called to speak to her, she was already up to date on my situation of wanting to switch from a RNY to a DS. rnrnMy first impression of Dr. Gagner was typical of meeting any physican. He had a thoughtful and calm demeanor. Being termed a \"lightweight,\" I thought that I would have to convince Dr. Gagner to do the DS surgery on me. My biggest concern was the diabetes cure, which I am watching (in my father) first hand what the terrible disease can do to you.rnrnHe went over all of the risks and benefits and asked me if this was the right choice for me at which time I affirmed. He had me schedule the date with Iliana, the office coordinator.rnrn I have had nothing but exceeded expecations of Dr. Gagner, Iliana and Genevieve and also Julie his patient coordinator.rnrnThey are exceptional, to date!

Dr. Gagner will be my surgeon. I was very pleased to meet him. He was everything I expected and more. Sooooo wise!
