Dr. Blaney is a very caring and competent surgeon. He is a Bliss surgeon which means he has a good track record. His caring is evident in his classes and his attitude towards you. He has a very structured aftercare program and there is not one thing that I did not like about him. On a scale of 1 to 10 I rate him an 11. He has a great surgical competence, and also makes you feel that the surgery will be successful and that you will be fine. Even being a nurse over 20 years, I needed that verbal resurrance and he gave it to me without asking. His bedside manner is also great. I am sorry to be so positive, but he is simply the BEST.

My first thought was how I can't believe how relaxed I feel about taliking about my weight and issues- he really cares about my feelings. His humbleness amazes me everything i see him. I think he has the best staff in the world they truly support ALL patients needs. i don't have any issues with him. That hs is honest and truly wants to know how you feel. Aftercare is very important - he says - "You need to make the 1st year after surgery about getting yourself healthy - what are you going to do with it"- we have accessed to a great support group - dietician and psychologist. He explained all the pros and cons "risks" about surgery to myself as well has my husband. I would rate him at 100% real - his has good manner all the way around

Now that I have had surgery with Dr. Blaney I have a new respect for him. He is the most relaxed and caring doctor I have ever met. Even when I posed a small issue in the hospital, he never waivered, so I did not get worried. He is a rock!! All of my after care has been superb, his staff is wonderful, and the support groups offered every month are just what I needed to get me through the first few months. I am sure I will continue to go even when I am years out. The networking of people who have had this surgery is great! You can make friends that know what you are talking about, and you can relate to. I am glad that I chose Dr. Blaney not only because he is the best, but because I have no stress when dealing with the staff, and that is usually what makes me change doctors!! God Bless,a nd I hope you make the decision to go with Dr. Blaney!!

My first impression of Dr. Blaney was that he seemed like a down to earth, laid back kind of guy but at the same time very professional. He had a very strong, firm handshake... the sign of a good man! I have high hopes! His staff is fabulous as well, super friendly and genuine. Exactly the sort of people you want in this type of Practice. I really can't think of anything that wasn't positive or pleasant about my first visit.

Met with him today and he was very informative and easy to talk to. It felt like we (husband and I) were talking to a family friend who had great advice. His staff is very personable and helpful and really seem to love their jobs.

My first impression of Dr.Blaney was good. The day after I went to the first seminar I was calling to get the ball going. MY impression of him has only gotten stronger. He is very personable. He not only remebers me at every visit he also knows my husband. If my husband does not go with me to my appointment he tells me to tell him hey and that he will see him next visit. Dr.Blaney also recognized that I had cut and colored my hair. Get real how many doctors recognize that kind of stuff.rnrnThe office staff has always been very nice to me. Every time I call with a problem or a question if they do not know the answer they find out and get back with me.rnrnDr.Blaney stresses the importance of after care from the beginning. Success comes when you trust in your doctor and do what he tells you to do.rnrnOverall I do not have a complaint about Dr.Blaney or any of his staff. I rate his performance a 10 out of 10.rnrnThanks to Dr.Blaney and his office staff for the tools to help me change my life forever. rnrnTwo months before I went to see Dr.Blaney I weighed 322. Preop I weighed 288. 7 monthes out thank the LORD I am down to 208.rnrnHaving the Lap band was the best decision I have ever made in my many years of trying to lose weight. If I had to recommend Dr.Blaney and his staff to any one interested in weight lose surgery I would in a heartbeat. I have nothing negitive to say at all except the gas was terrible. It has gotten some better but not completely.

My first impression was that he was a kind and sweet person and seemed to care so much and was very interested in putting me to ease and answering each of my questions as if there was no one else waiting on him. rnrnMy impression of him has not changed. He is so personable. I am so thankful everyday to have met him. rnrnHis office staff is great, especially Bryn (the nutritionalist). Amy, who works for the hospital, is especially wonderful also.rnrnI can't say that there is anything I dislike about Dr.Blaney. He is very down to earth and doesn't sugar coat anything. He is willing to give you his time and doesn't act like he has to run out of the room even though he is running behind.rnrnHe reminds me over and over again to attend the support group meetings. He emphasizes to never hesitate to call for any problem and that it's important that I keep my appointments.rnrnVery structured aftercare program. He, the office staff and hospital have worked very hard on their bariatric program and it shows.rnrnAs I said before, he is straightforward. There are risks with any surgery, even minor and he points out those that are specific to the surgery you are having. He requires that you buy the book \"Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies\". He can't make you read it, but you are only hurting yourself if you don't. It's very beneficial.rnrnOn a scale of 1-10, I would rate him a 10.rnrnI didn't watch him do the surgery (thank goodness), but from what I'm seeing in myself and his many other patients, he is highly competent. His bedside manner is the best of any physician I've dealt with and I've been working in healthcare with physicians for 28 years now.rnrnI can't say anything negative about Dr.Blaney or his staff because I have truly not experienced anything negative.rn

Since my surgeon moved in 2005 I found myself needing to find a new surgeon to do my follow-up care. After a year of not being able to find someone my wife met Dr. Blaney. Since that time he has been doing my bariatric follow-up care. In 2006 I developed bleeding, Dr. Blaney quickly got me into his office and then provided excellent care in determining the cause of the bleeding. He did an EGD which showed I had developed an ulcer. He has been my surgeon of choice since then following my labs, even doing some minor surgery on my hand. He is always available and makes time to talk with you. I feel confident knowing he is here if I ever run into problems from my weight loss surgery. He treats you like you are part of his family and there are not many doctors like him. rnrnrnrnrn<b>Dr. Martindale is a great guy, he knows what he is doing, he did my wife's surgery. The more that I got to know Dr. Martindale the more sense he makes, makes more sense than other surgeon's I've met with. The office staff was a little cold on the first visit and then the next time much warmer and they seem knowledgeable about the surgery. They are always supportive when they see my wife's weight loss. Dr. Martindale is one of the best in the nation and one of the few that will perform the surgery on high risk patients. He cares about his patients very much, he does overseas work with people also suffering from obesity. The dealings with my wife for aftercare is excellent. He can tell you about past patient and what complications they have had and any deaths he has had. To date he has not any deaths as a direct result of the surgery. He can tell you how they did die and what they died from. He is very open about the risk of surgery in fact in my wife's MTV story he even says \"Are you willing to risk your life to have surgery\". Dr. Martindale is one of the best. I know that most say that about their surgeon, but he genuninely cares about all his patients. Both bedside manner and surgical compentence is great. He does other surgeries other than gastric bypass not to meantion he also has a PHD in nutrition, which is a major plus for someone suffering from obesity. My only complaint is there is not a clone for Dr. Martindale. He needs about 10, because it's SO hard to get into see him for a consultation. He has a very long waiting list to get on the waiting list. The wait however is worth every minute.rnrnWhen I met with Dr. Martinedale he was wonderful as he always has been. I hope to be having surgery soon. I can't say enough about how great of a surgeon this man is.
