My first impression of Dr. Blaney was awesome. Very laid back and very easy to talk to and went over everything in detail. We talked for over 40 minutes. I have never been to a doctor that was so easy to talk to and not in a hurry. I had filled out a medical overview with weight information before my visit. He went over that and figured out that I had portion control issues and drank alot of my calories and said he thought I would be great candidate for weightloss surgery since the majority of ot is portion control. My impression of him has gotten even better with every visit. He is real & down to earth. I can't think of one thing that I dislike about him at all. Future patients should be ready for a very laid back Dr. that wears blue jeans every chance he gets. He strongly emphasizes after care and stresses the importance of post surgery seminar attendance. I am just starting the aftercare program and have found it to be very well structured. Dr. B. went over in detail all of the surgical risks as well as gives you all the information to read. The offic estaff is very knowledgeable and very helpful. They are very busy but get back to quickly if you have to leave a voicemail. I would rate him as a 10 all the way. He is very knowledgeable with the surgery and his bedside manner rocks!
I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Blaney. He was informative, patient and understanding. He did not push one procedure over another, but gave you the plus and negatives of each and helped you decide which may be the most beneficial to you long term. His staff is excellent and supportive. And not once have I felt rushed to leave his office or did he ever blow off any questions I have had.
Alot of people treat those of us with weight problems like a burden. Even medical professionals. It seems like the bigger we got the less of a person we were. Not in his office. I have never felt patronized or insignificant there. Always treated with respect and dignity. And I trust Dr. Blaney and his staff. THAT'S saying alot.
Depending on what time of day I weigh in, I have lost nearly 100 pounds since my surgery in January.
Right on Dr. Blaney

Before my first visit several doctors recommended Dr. Blaney saying they knew many of his patients and that they were very pleased. On my first visit to meet with Dr. Blaney, he was in no rush telling my husband and I about my options, answering all questions. He was very concerned that I had all the information I needed to make an informed decision. My next step was the workshop where Dr. Blaney takes his entire Sat. and devotes it to his patients and in depth show & explains all surgeries possible. He goes over the Positive and the negitives of all the surgeries not pushing one or the other. Saying that different people having different needs will know which surgery they will want before it is time. His office is set up so that there is twice a month support groups, in house dietion to ask questions whenever we need. (She is on our Yahoo support group which is really nice) He also has an in house Therapist offering extra group help for those who would like to have it. So I would reccomend Dr. Blaney to anyone who ask.
How did my impression of him change over time? Love him more and more every day. I have never met a kinder, more supportive MD. He takes the time you need so you can succeed. His surgical competence and bedside manner are both great.
Six months post op he is just as caring and concerned about your issues. Always willing to listen. Like that he has the nutritionist at each visit now. That is a great addition. Now at 15 months post op and I love him more and more everyday. They don't get better than Dr. Blaney and Dr. Chasen.
New rating: 11 on a scale of 1-10.
First impressions: Wonderful, easygoing, believes he is making a difference
Office Staff: wonderful, receptive, caring, friendly
Did he emphasize aftercare: over and over again. I was quite impressed by the education I received prior to getting a surgery date. Met with him twice already for an individual session and then a group session. Group session was 4 hours on a saturday where he not only described the surgeries but showed video of each and explained each step and answered questions. Not one person can say they did not get informed consent. He also discussed risks of surgery to include death and his rates of these risks. 15 months after surgery attended a reeducation seminar called LEAP.
Like least: Nothing. I like everything about him and his staff.
Overall rating: Excellent, 11 on a scale of 1-10
I liked Dr. Blaney from the first time I met him. He is very honest and very thorough and he will sit and talk to you and answer all your questions. He made me feel confident about my surgery and explained things to me. He has a very good sense of humor to! His office staff are so awesome and so nice and willing to help you and answer your questions. If I left a message to be called back, you can bet that all my calls were returned to!I am still in my process of getting my revision so I will be back!rn06/30/2009rnI am so thankful for the education on WLS that Dr. Blaney and associates have made sure his patients have before performing surgeries, I am having a revision and I feel confident that this second chance will be successful because of being informed!rn10/14/2009rnI just wnated to take a moment to thank Dr. Blaney and Bryn for there concern for me at my last visit on 09/04/2009, my husband had just left me the day before and it was a shock but I went on to my appointments and of course was upset and Dr. Blaney was great, he talked to me and told me not to let this hinder my progress and he even hugged me and told me that it was going to be ok eventually, not many Pysicians who be so caring about your personal situations anyway. I just thought it was thoughtful and I am thankful to have him as my Surgeon, because he DOES care about his patients! He wants us to succeed!
Dr. Blaney and his staff are all wonderful. I was really impressed with his bedside manner. He has taken very good care of me through everything. He takes time to listen and I never feel rushed even though he is a very, very busy man. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give him and his staff a well deserved 10!!!
My first impression of Dr.Blaney was that he is very comfortable with what he does. He is kinda soft-spoken, but i have never doubted that he knows what he's doing. The staff at Trinity bariatric is EXCELLENT! I am glad that Dr. Blaney has a structured program in place for after surgery. Overall, I have been very pleased with my experience with Dr. Blaney and his staff so far.
I had heard nothing but good things about Dr Blaney and from finally meeting him and speaking to him he is so aware of everything. Was always ready to answer all questions and has a very organized practice. He is so laid back and has a great smile that puts you at ease. He is very confident with himself and that makes me feel comfortable.
