Michael H. Wood Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

Although, he was running behind about 45 minutes or so, when he whisked into the conference room with myself and about 12 other pre-op's, he more than made up for his lateness. Knowledgeable, understanding, witty, yet serious about his expectations once post-op, one of the creator's of the Sapala-Wood micro pouch had me sold. I definitely wanted him for my surgeon. There was nothing that I did not like about him. Dr Wood covered all bases and answered questions before we could ask them. He addressed the con's more so than the pro's, so this is not about money for him, but making sure that his patients understand fully the benefits and risks of this surgery. His aftercare program is very structured and on a scale of 1-10, 10 being highest, I'd rate him a twelve!! Very courteous, very knowledgeable, and with over twenty years of specialty in this field, he is definitely my choice!!

My 1st impression of him was good. He has a great bed side manner and took enough time to answer all your questions no matter how many other patients were waiting to be seen. The office staff was really friendly and caring. They spent alot of time working with me trying to get all the insurance info and required tests done so I could schedule my date. Dr Wood has set the gold standard for the RNY Micropouch. I would not trust anyone else to do this to me. Both his bed side manner and surgical competence surpass all my expectations. I would refer him to anyone who is seeking to do this. My only complaint is that when you call the office both pre and post op their staff is not real prompt in returning your calls. I wish this could be addressed.

My first impression of Dr Wood was great,he is a real sweet and smart man.My impression did not change,he is awesome!!!! First of all, i wanna say that I am not one to say negative things on a daily basis,BUT some of his office staff are terrible.Dr wood is GREATTTTTTT but SOME of his staff,i can not say that for.There was nothing, i did not like about the doctor.All patients should know he is gret and very good at what he does(surgery).He wants too have a good aftercare but his staff are not so good with scheduling.He has a great seminar that he outlines it all!!! on a scale 1-10,i would rate him AT LEAST a 10!!! His surgical competence is wonderful!!!

I am totally confident in Dr Wood! I knew he was the surgeon for me from the first time I met him at a seminar. He seems to really know what he is doing.

I am impressed with Dr Wood, I think he is a really committed to Bariatric Surgery. I like the idea that he has 25 years surgical experience overall. I did have the pleasure of working in one of the hospitals he has practiced in. That sort of give me an an advantage.. I know about his caring attitude toward his patients and how they all "brag" on his bedside manner. I used to see him come in every morning and see each patient , which seems normal but if you know about hospitals, you'll know that sometimes thats a big deal to see YOUR physician and not the surgical resident!!! My consult with him only made me feel more confident in my decision to choose him as a surgeon and to have the procedure overall. He emphasizes aftercare, DIETS and the importance of following "THE GUIDELINES". He went into detail on the procedures he offered and the pros and cons of all of them. He does hold the patent onthe WOOD-SAPALA micropouch but doesnt force any procedure on you either way. My concern is that there is a long office wait(from other posts/reviews I've read), so I'll have to see about that with future appts.

Dr Wood is such a careing man. I feel he has a love for his patients, as he has dedicated his life, in helping others.

Dr Wood was the one, who did the Consultation and if I had any questions, he has answered them.

I am looking forward to WLS and I believe I am in the best hands, as far as my care goes. Dr Wood will take good care of me.

Dr. Wood is AWESOME! Right from the first meeting he had a great bedside manner.. Very happy with him!

I met Dr. Wood April, 2005. He was a very informative man. He seem friendly but some what busy. He would have answered any questions I had but I didn't have any because he covered so much in his presentation. I am very confident that I chose the right doctor.
