First impression was , I did not like him he was to impersonal . My impression changed on our next visit, Date of surgery . January 10,2001 : this was the man that was going to help me change my life. Office staff was very helpful, really supportive. There is nothing that I do not like about him now, I have told everyone even my husband I am in love with him. He really does listen, to anything I say which is very nice. The first exam is a complete exam... Not like the one's where it is " ok hop up on the table, let me give you some pills." type of exam. Be prepared to have a complete exam. He would like to see you first 10-14 days after your surgery then one month then two months then three months. These are very important. Structured aftercare program, telling you to increase certian areas of your food intake and not drink sweet fruit drinks. He infomed me as to the side effects and to the other complications which could happen in and during surgery. How do I rate him ?? He is wonderful.... on a scale of 1-10 50,000.. both surgical competence and bedside manner are great. But I would prefer Surgical Competence any day... especially since they are cutting on you.

There is not enough I can say about Dr. Jett.
He is a caring and understanding individual.
He went to bat for me with the insurance co. and we won that first battle.I was amased at how fast they replied. His staff of nurses and all the others are supportive and caring. They exude this to all. He is a matter-of-fact kind of guy. At first I was a little put off by this until I came to know him better, then I understood where he was coming from. Shooting straight from the hip is what I needed. He really cares and wants to help us find our way back to a healthy life. As far as aftercare goes he is very intense about what you should be doing. He wants you to reach your goals as soon as you can. You will have many visits before he let's you go out and try it alone. As I said before he let's you know what you're in for from the very beginning. He is at the top of my list. Numero ONO! As I indicated before he is one to get to know, don't jump to conclusions He just doesn't beat around the bush. Thank you Dr. Mason Jett

I first met with Dr. Jett on January 16, 2001. My father went with me for my initial consultation. I found that Dr. Jett was very compassionate and thorough. He spent a good hour explaining the procedure to me from start to finish and what to expect. I would definitely recommend him, though I have not had my surgery yet. His nurse, Valerie is GREAT!! I have called her so many times and she is always ready to assist me in any way that she can. The only problem I had was with them sending my referral letter to the insurance as he was not currently credentialed with PPC.

Awesome.. honest open.. damn he is right on. He comes in with all the attitude that you dont ever find in Doctors..He's there to help not to make you feel belittled or that all the choices that you have made in your life were bad ones.. just that lets fix this now and make the life changes neccessary. Watch out he has a woop-ass attitude.
Staff was tremedous.. there is one chick that was upfront now she works in billing area.. dark hair and curly.. Great eyes.. and so polite.. everything was put on the table and asked for my imput. Jett makes A list on christmas card list. BTW had Vertical Banding.. felt like a truck hit my first couple days after surgery.. honestly I rocked afterwards.. did surgery at Baptist hospital..the Nurse Datia.. was so sweet.. I even go visit her when I get a chance.. I never had so many people help me. I got out early due to I worked hard at getting better. I am a fighter. and tons of confidence to do it right.

Dr. Jett was cool. Very matter of fact about the surgery and what can happen. All the do's and dont's. Office staff helpfull and friendly.

My first impression was that he was a little brusk, typical Surgeon. As the visit continued, he was became much warmer and personable. Very easy to talk to. Office staff is freindly (Valerie was very helpful). Difficult getting first appointment, was able to see him sooner (went with my friend for her follow up appointment, whined a little and he saw me that day!!!).

Dr. Jett is very blunt and to the point. he sat down with me and very openly explained the pros and cons of surgery. He drew me a example of what he would be doing and explained in the detail the procedure.
He is very in to aftercare he wants to make sure you will follow-up so he can check your status. His surgical competence is definitely better than his bedside manner. Of course I haven't had the surgery yet so may-be he will improve. Over all i would rate him an 8.

My first impression was very good, hes very professional, to the point, explained things in a way that was easy to understand, took time to answer questions. Office staff very nice and I had heard good things about him and his staff from others. He emphasizes follow-up care and you are expected to show up and continue check-ups. He addressed all the possible risks of surgery....I liked his bedside manner, I prefer someone who doesn't beat around the bush, who gets right to the point. I was in the office about 2 hrs., however some of that was wait time, he did a complete history and physical, also had a intern with him, and although I would have not preferred an audience, I understand the need to learn. Overall I rate him high....of course, I haven't had the surgery yet........

Dr. Jett was very informative. Seemed to "warm up" as the time passed (we may have overwhelmed him, my mom, sister and best friend went with me). I am concerned that I'm not going to have another appointment before my surgery.. The office staff was nice. I think Dr. Jett may have explained things too well. He did address the risks of the surgery and informed me of the precautions that are taken.
