Dr. Sherrod is the BEST! He did my lap band in 2009 and I lost 70 lbs. Due to complications and weight regain, I had a revision to a Gastric Sleeve on 1/16/17. I have had no issues at all! Dr. Sherrod is so caring and takes his time with his patients. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Sherrod to anyone who is considering weight loss Surgery!

My first impression of Dr. Sherrod was and still is, he is ALWAYS late, but well worth the wait. I LOVE Dr. Sherrod. I had the lap band in December of 2006 and at my lowest weight I had lost almost 190 pounds. I have gained 30 of it back and now I am trying to get approved for the gastric sleeve. Sherrod has always been up front and honest with me, and open to any questions I have. He is so loving and I always look forward to seeing him. He truly cares about his patients. I cannot thank him enough for all him and his staff have done for me.

He's very quick in his visits, but I immediately found him to be warm and welcoming. I've seen him twice so far and each time I was pleased. The last time I had my 17mos old and he came right in and took her and played with her. She doesn't go to anybody and she went to him. That said something to me. He's very reassuring and the staff has been great.
I saw Dr. Sherrod a bit before my surgery and he made me feel right at home. We even joked around a bit. After the surgery, he went into the waiting room to notify my mom and he even took the time to draw her a diagram and explain everything that he did. That was a nice personal touch that meant a lot to her and me. I saw him yesterday and this morning before I left the hospital. He took interest and time to meet my visitors and he always had a smile on his face. I have really enjoyed being his patient.

i liked dr. sherrod right away, he made me feel comfortable about all that was to happen. what impressed me the most besides answering all of my questions was that he wouldn't do my surgery on a thursday or friday because unless he was on call that weekend he wouldn't be there to take care of me. he wanted to take care of his own patients. his staff and colleges at southwest bariatric center are awsome. i can't say enough good things about them. as far as aftercare i'm still working on that but i expect the same as before. as to how i would rate him out of 1 - 10 i'd give him a 10. as far as beside manner and surgical competence i'd say both. i'm seeing him next week and will give you an update

I was referred to Dr. Sherrod by my own General Practioner, who is a personal friend of his. I figured if my GP would have him operate on him, then that was a good enough recommendation for me (I really trust my GP). I found Dr. Sherrod to be confident in his ability to do the operation and to have a positive outcome. The aftercare program is still \"iffy\" in my mind -- what I'm getting is that the practice is good up front in preparing you, but I'm not convinced that the aftercare has that much involvement from the group. My concern is that there's no real studies done on folks with my age/BMI range and he couldn't assure me of what could or couldn't happen. While I totally understand each case is an individual situation, it would be nice to know what the 'possible' results could be. The staff seems helpful enough -- just that the workload seems to be pretty hefty.

He seem really busy but was ready to assist me in anything I needed especialy when he found out this was the third go round with trying to have the surgery. Over time I really did not see him but 2 times before surgery. His staff seemed to care, but alittle over whelmed. I felt like i was just another person he was going to get money for operating on. He really emphasize anything for after care he left that up to the others I had to see, I recieved more information from Linda Martin @ Seton Hospital than any where else. The only stuctured for aftercare was to read what had been given to me and he would see me in 2 weeks. I think he is an great suregon, but as far as coming across as caring just seemed to me that i was just another notch in his belt, of success. Both surgical comptence and bedside manner are a must, just everthing went so quickly, what i had learned 3 years prior was total different that what i was learning this time around and most of the information came from others that work with Dr Sherrod. I am still unsure what is to come and scared.
