Laura Machado Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

7/14/06 - I met with Dr. Machado yesterday for my consultation. She was very kind and answered all of my questions. She is extremely knowledgeable about Gastric Bypass and the Lapband. Her staff was also very helpful.

Dr. Machado and her staff have been wonderful and helpful. The entire experience had been positive. The way life should be!

Dr Machado is wonderful! She really spent time to explain the procedure and talk to me about all the risks. She was supportive and funny! (That is important to me too)

I first saw Dr Machado at a seminar she gave in December 2004 for weight loss surgery. My co-worker and I decided to venture into this together. She was up-beat and very informative. Nothing was sugar-coated. We knew the risks and ventured on. She explained the risks in detail during the seminar and then again during a pre-op visit. She is very open to questions and takes the time to make sure you understand everything thoroughly before proceeding with surgery.

She has a partner in crime named Sande Rowlee, NP who assists her during surgery. Both of them are great together and keep me smiling even when the chips are down.

Her office staff is great. The inside of the office is well decorated, but the building is old.

Overall she is fabulous. I felt very comfortable with her pre-op, intra-op, and post-op. I felt like I was in good hands even with my co-morbities I felt confident that everything would be successful. Except for the fact that I had to have an open RNY, instead of laparoscopic, I would do it all over again.

I meet with either Dr Machado or Sande on a regular basis after surgery and I am also attending the monthly support group meetings.

Dr Machado is planning on moving her office and increasing her space to include a work-out gym for her patients to come and get a great work-out. I am excited for this.

She has a nutritionist on staff as well as a physical trainer.

Love her and all that she has done for me.

She is awesome. Helpful and friendly. Answered my millions of questions and the staff was wonderful. I would recommend her to anyone.

This has been one of the better experiences of my life to date. Dr. Machado, RN Sandee Rowlee, and the entire office staff are supportive, friendly, and concerned.

There is a structured after care program that includes no-charge office visits and a monthly support group.

The risks of the surgery were well and thoroughly addressed.

I had wanted the lap band procedure, but my insurance would only cover the more invasive gastric bypass (RNY).

Dr.Machado is a very warm and caring woman. I felf comfortable from the first moment I walked into her office, it is clean and well decorated. The office staff is exceptional, and I would recommend them to anyone.

There is a very structured pre and post op program. She requires an aftercare support program that she provides from her office.

I felt that the risks were covered, and explained to the point that I had no questions, She spent a signifigant amount of time answereing my questions, and the questions of my partner.

I would give her a 4 star rating.

Surgical competece is the utmost important, and bedside manner is a close second, but both make a great Dr.

I had started out with another surgeon, but was having difficulty getting everything lined up. I'd also begun to hear some things about his terrible bedside manner. I ended up changing PCP's and medical groups and ended up with the BEST surgeon ever. Dr. Machado is awesome. She is honest and caring and genuine. Her NP is awesome too!

Dr. Machado is who I am working with. She is really supportive, and easy to work with. Her office staff is just as supportive, and they can answer every question thrown at them. Dr. Machado is very strict on aftercare from what I understand, but we will soon find out we hope.
