Laura Machado Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.

I first went to Dr. Machado's seminar & was very pleased with all the information that was available...& talking with Ruth in regards to insurance coverages, etc.rnrnI have since been referred over & had my first appointment with Dr. Machado & she is very nice, easy to talk to & overall the entire staff at her office is wonderful.

My first impression of Dr. Machado was that she seemed very knowlegable and competent. She has a great sense of humor and seems very personable. The office staff has been very friendly and helpful.

Dr. Machado is very warm and friendly and puts you at ease immediately. Her office staff is very professional and have the same warm and caring spirit that she has. Dr. Machado answered all my questions. and was very encouraging without pushing me into anything. Her seminars are great and she always has guests with success stories to share. At the end, she gives each of us a purple ping pong ball to take home and think about what our new stomach's will be like.

The first time I met her it was for my gallbladder removal. She was a general surgeon. I thought she looked young for being a surgeon and I even said -\"Your parents must be very proud of you.\" rnShe was nice and she talks to you one on one-not as a case study but like a friend. rn Then I developed hypertension and I asked about this lapband I had just heard about and that it was something that could be removed and wa--laa Dr Laura Machado had just started doing all those surgeries now..Gastric lapband and bypass..well that was reassuring since she had already performed a couple of surgeries on me prior.rn She is very involved before, after and wants you to call her immediately if something changes or not sure about something. She tells you about what to expect before and after the surgery.She explains if there were any problems or not. rn They do give you a structured format to follow of pre op and post op. It also has a list of different websites to get even more information. rn Her staff is like a family. They are all very nice and understanding, but still very professional. rn Obviously I believe she is one of the best surgeons and its all done laproscopically and she is not just my Doctor/ Surgeon but a friend. I would and have recommended her to all thinking about having WL surgery.rn I know they say that there should be some negative in some area but I really don't have any.rn Well maybe only that she is so busy now the schedule is fuller.. Ürn And as they say, this has been my own personal experience with my doctor and I cannot speak for all her clients or their experiences. rnrn rnrnrn

Dr. Machado is truly understanding of the obese persons emotional and physical state and is a wonderful surgeon.

My first impression of her was that she is very confident, empathetic and competent. She is very well spoken, very well educated and and I am sure she will do a great job.rnrnI am so looking forward to my surgery and very happy that I will be in Dr. Machado's hands. She certainly inspires confidence.

Dr. Laura Machado is a warm and caring woman. We have only met briefly during a seminar, but she took the time to speak to me completely, avoiding all other distractions (there were at least 50 other people there). She also held my hand like a dear friend would! These actions made me feel important and special. I'm grateful Dr. Machado will be my bariatric surgeon.

I have just gone to the new patient seminar and so far I think she is fabulous. I had started with another doctor who is also fabulous but for insurance reasons I had to change...I was very reluctant and expected not to like her...however, she was able to put my mind at ease in a way that the other doc couldn't. She has a very structured very strict aftercare program which means that she means business! I will let you know more later...but so far I would rate her and her staff a 10+!

Dr. Machado was very nice, and made me feel very comfortable. Which as we all know is tough to do with over weight people..lol All of the office staff that I have either talked to or met have been very nice. There is nothing so far that I dont like about Dr. Machado and her staff. She has very strict after care rules which works ver well for me. She explained all the risks to me, we even discussed the different risks with the lap band and gastric bypass, since I was a little undecided when I went to see her.So far I would rate her a 10 out of 10. She has been wonderful and so has her staff. Surgical competence is great, but it would still suck if the bedside manner wasnt good and so far I am thinking Dr. Machados bedside manner will be great!

They are professional, friendly and they made me feel very comfortable and at ease. rnrnDr. Machado is a very easy person to talk to and answered any question I asked. We spoke about the risks of surgery, types of bariatric surgeries, what I can expect after surgery and many other subjects relating to aftercare. rnrnShe has a very pleasing bedside manner and my husband and I both feel she's extremely competent.
