I liked this Dr. right from the first visit
my impression about him has not changed so far.
The staff is pretty good , kinda hard to talk with a certain person but if you give them a email address they get right back with you to address anything.
first visit was ok but he made me feel kinda rushed maybe because waiting room was packed.
He is very willing to give you the info you need and willing to help with the process.. making sure you connect with the right people.
very much and they are very high about you keeping every appointment and follow all orders.
From the time i shook his hand he stated the risk.
at this time 8 and after my surgery then we shall see.
Will have to inform everyone later about this..
Dr. Gersin was very down to earth, told me about the risks of surgery and answered all of my questions. I really liked him! Also Jo, the nurse practitioner, is excellent! What a lady that has her act together!Jessica Toliver, the Bariatric Coordinator is just awesome!! She answered all of my questions at the orientation I went to and has answered any emails I have sent her quickly! Thank you Jessica!! You are the best!! I had my initial consult with Dr. Gersin on 2/13/03!! I received insurance approval on 2/28/03 and have a tentative date scheduled on 3/31/03 for RNY lap surgery!!!! Gettin' closer!! ;-)
My first appointment with Dr Gersin was 6/02 for a pre-op visit, I found Dr Gersin to be professional, very intelligent, and very caring and understanding of the obesity problems. After my interview of Dr Gersin and his surgical history I felt I had found the "perfect" Doctor. He explained the procedure well along with complications and how they would pertain to me. I personally liked since I am a RN in a GI department the fact that he does a EGD at he end of surgery to check for pouch leaks. I have had 2 follow up visits since my August 2002 surgery all has gone well with no complications and have found Dr Gersin to be supportive, and very postive.
Jessica Toliver, Coordinator, is a wonderful, caring and very supportive person, Jessica works very hard to met all the demands of a very busy and popular surgery. I could not be any happier with all my encounters with Dr Gersin and the office and again I would entrust my life with Dr Gersin.
I meet Dr.Gersin for the first time on Jan 2.He was very nice and informative about the surgey. He is very straight forward but that is what me and my husbod like in a Doctor. He has a wonderful staff, they are very polite and take the time to talk to you and help you in anyway the can.Jessica is the Bariatric Coordinator she has helped me a lot.She will talk to you abuot all the steps and makes you feel very comfortable.I can"t what for my surgey and I know that they will suport in every way.I would recamend Dr.Gersin and his office personal to anyone who asks.
I was very impressed with Dr. Gersin and his friendliness and I can't wait to be able to speak with him more. He liked the fact that I had written down a list of questions to ask and answered everyone of them and told me to feel free to write down anything else that I may think of between now and the next time that I see him. The office staff was just as nice as the doctor and made me feel really comfortable. At this point I would recommend this doctor to anyone in the Cincinnati, OH area.
I met Dr. Gersin right before surgery! (My surgeon was not able to do the surgery that day, but Dr. Gersin could still be there, so I said, "Go ahead!") Dr. Gersin was very nice, and I instantly trusted him. I still think he is the best, and I am really glad it turned out that he could do my surgery. (Lap RNY on 102902.)
Office staff: great! Jessica Toliver has gone out of her way to be helpful and just a gem. Everyone else I have come in contact with is also the nicest.
What did I like least - Not a thing.
What should future patients know - there is no getting around the things you have to do before he will do surgery. That includes the psych eval, diet classes, support group meeting and anything else he thinks is necessary.
Aftercare is great. The diet classes really prepared me to take care of myself at home after surgery, questions were always answered. Support group meetings are very good.
Risks of surgery - went over all that early on.
I wuld rate Dr. Gersin very highly. I don't know how he does everything he does. He is super busy and he is an excellent surgeon and it pleases him to see his patients do well. I really think he feels this surgery helps people and it's not just the $$$$$ he makes doing it. Great surgeon, very good bedside manner.
I havent got the pleasure to meet dr gersin yet i met dr alexander and he was great. but do to the fact he was behind they asked me if i would mind seeing one of the other dr's i got some information on him and i felt good enough about him. so i decided to see dr gersin. jessica his clinical cordinator is out of this world she has been my angel through it all. I have called her so much she probley hates me now.I can say they do send you to a dietician, pshy eveluation, and also to support groups.and they are big on after care.
