He was personable and very approachable. Not the least bit intimadating. The office staff was wonderful. Seemed geniuinely interested in my success. rnWonderfully well structured program. Both before and after surgery. rnHe was very open about risks as was his PA. I look forward to having them @ the helm of my journey.
Did an excellent job.rnMy first impression was quietness, but I guess that is not so bad. His bedside manners is all that needs to be expected. He understand ths situation, so no real need for all happy happy joy joy, so all good. rnrnHis assistant, Dr. Keller was excellent. She was kind, talkative and very outgoing. They were a good combination.rnrnNothing negative to say.
He rocks... he's soft spoken but definately the best of the best in Charlotte, NC. I was told to expect to stay 2 nights at the hospital... I stayed 1! I was up walking with no drainage tubes and only a cath for 12 hours... not because my health was optimum but because my surgeon and his team were the BEST. No regrets in my decision on Drs.
I had heard about Dr. Gersin from a co-worker. She had given favorable information about him. I decided to go to the initial meeting. About five years ago, my primary care doctor told me that I was candidate for bariactric surgery, so I decided to research the surgery. It really scared me, so I concluded that this was not for me. My health continued to deteriorate and I was pretty much at death's doorstep. In October 2007, I had seen my co-worker who had the surgery. I asked many questions and I saw how happy she was. She had lost over 100 pounds and said she felt wonderful. I can't remember feeling such, so I decided I would once again research the bariatric surgery. I am very happy I did. I went to the initial meeting with Dr. Gerin and he was very informative, he addressed the risks which calmed my fears. My not having the surgery outweighed the risks. He said the surgery of past years had gotten better. My surgery was March 18, 2008 and I feel wonderful. My body doesn't have any of the aches or pains. The staff were wonderful, although the hospital nurse was horrid. The day after surgery the pain was unbearable, yet the evening nurser told me to bite my lip and get over it. No compassion what so ever.
Dr. Gersin did my RNY on Feb. 26th,2008. Not only is he and his staff caring, talented, and considerate he takes the time to answer any questions you may have and is a good listener. If it weren't for Dr. Gersin I wouldn't have this awesome second chance at life. I am doing and enjoying things I haven't done in years. I trust him completely and see that he truly has a God-given talent. Anyone who is lucky enough to be his patient can expect a high level of care.Thank you Dr. Gersin for the opportunity I have been given! Patricia Parker
Dr. Gersin was a good surgeon. His office staff leaves a lot to be desired though. They weren't very efficient and they lost my records TWICE!. He had an associate though, Dr. Villanueva that ROCKED. He called and checked on me, helped with all my questions, and was genuinely concerned with my well being. I didn't see Dr. Gersin until my 1 month post op check up and he's the one that operated on me. Oh well. Dr.V was better anyway.
My first impression of Dr. Gersin is that he is much like the OB who delivered my children. He is very cautious and informative. I didn't feel like he was trying to sell anytype of surgery to us at all. I thought he was very open and honest at the information seminar. Since then, I have met with him in the office and found him to be personable and interested in me as a person, not just as a client. We talked about my family and my job. I have not had surgery yet, but he is a doctor who beleives that patients should know everything that will affect their lives upfront. He also believes that aftercare IS the key to the most successfull surgery you can have. HIs office staff are nice and down to earth. They treat patients with dignity and respect. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Gersin and his staff. They were the right choice for me.
Very happy with my experience thus far. He is very professional and I feel quite confident in his abilities. I had interviewed several surgeons in and around Charlotte. When I heard him speak at a seminar at CMC I knew that he was my guy. Confident but not arrogant, caring but not fake. I can totally appreciate those qualities in a medical professional. I don't have a date yet (still going through all the pre-steps) but I am completely relaxed about the surgery itself as long as Dr. Gersin is performing it.
