K. Bruce Jones Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

He was great. Very supportive, very professional in evry way. I had utmost confidence in his knowledge skills and ability. My surgery went text book perfect. I had no complications following the surgery.
My impression did not change over time. If I needed any other surgery, or any of my family members I would highly recommend Dr. Jones.
His office staff were exceptionally helpfull, polite and encouraging.
Dr. Jones emphasizes aftercare. He leads a support group that meets regularly. I have moved away from the state where Dr. Jones has his practice and I still continue to receive invitations to his meetings. If I lived close enough I would be active in the group. I need to find a Dr. in my area that understands GBS and can monitor my health care needs. I would continue to see Dr. Jones if it was possible.
I would highly recommend Dr. Jones, and I have referred several friends to him.
His surgical competence and his bed side manner were both great.

What was your first impression of him/her?
He seems to be very caring.
How did your impression change over time? It has not changed. He cares about his patients and it is obvious!
How would you describe his/her office staff?
Probably normal.
How much does he/she emphasize aftercare? I don't think as much as it should be.
Does he/she have a structured aftercare program?
I may be confused on this, but although I suppose they do, it seemed a little inadequate. I may just be expecting to much.
How did he/she address the risks of surgery?
Very upfront with the risks and the benefits.
How would you rate him/her overall?
Very good!
Which is better, surgical competence, bedside
manner, or both great?
Both are very important. You want to know you will come out of surgery, but being cold and uncaring does not inspire confidence!

I met with Dr. Jones on April 18th, 2000.
Dr. Jones seems very knowledgeable. He does
an exstenive exam. He was very reassuring
about my insurance and said that he would
send a detailed letter to them. Dr. Jones
seemed to believe that the insurance company
would approve my surgery. Dr. Jones' diagnosis
of me was sleep apnea, esophageal reflux and
joint pain. Dr. Jones answered all of our
questions and stressed that if we had any
additional questions to please call his
office. A friend of mine had this surgery
performed by Dr. Jones has is very pleased
with him. Dr. Jones has scheduled a Lipid
Profile and a Stress Echo test. They are
scheduled for May 1st, 2000. The staff at
Dr. Jones' office (NEA Surgery Clinic) were
very professional and helpfull. They took
the time to go over all of Dr. Jones' charges
and how much my insurance would most likley
pay and how much I would have to pay. They
advised that if the insurance company did not
pay that I could pay Dr. Jones' fees and the
hospital would take payments. I was very
pleased with Dr. Jones. The only problem
that I have is the wait. Dr. Jones
is the only doctor in our area that does
this type of surgery and is highly spoke of,
therefore, he is booked solid. Dr. Jones
only does one to two of these surgeries
a week. It might be August or September
before I can get a date for surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Jones was very good. He is to the point, but very helpful also. I feel very comfortable with him. He definately seems to care. So far, his after care program is good. He expects you to follow through with his directions AND to follow through with your visits. Before surgery, he was very thorough with the risks AND the advantages of the surgery. I felt confident going into the surgery. Overall I would give him a very high rating. I would recommend him to anyone.
