He was very caring and very understanding. He is easy to work with. His staff are also very caring and helpful. There have been a few times when I have had to wait for my appointment times, but not many. The staff want to see the patients succeed. Dr. Jones and his staff were instrumental in starting a gastric bypass support group which is helping even more individuals.
Dr. Jones makes it mandatory to attend an informational meeting before the first appointment with him; at which time, he outlines the positive and negative aspects about the surgery. At the first appointment then, he answers any personal question you might have about the surgery and "gets to know you better".
I would rate him very high on both surgical competence and bedside manner. I had no problems. I would do it again in an instant!

I feel Dr. Jones is a very caring individual and he is committed to helping obese patients in this area. The staff is helpful in getting the paperwork done.Dr. Jones requires that you attend an infomation meeting (held monthly) before he will see you individually, and requires you primary physician send a referral to him before the appointment can be made, as part of the screening process. If he thinks you are a candidate,he will tell you when the next available surgery date is. The staff will then work with your insurance company. This whole process can take 6 to 12 months before you actually have the surgery. His office will allow you to pay out your "patient portion" in monthly payments. Several of us in the area are forming a monthly support group, but at this point it does not have regular input from Dr.Jones.Overall, for his surgical expertise I rate him 10. And now he does laprascopic procedures (I had an open procedure).

Dr.Jones is a very professionl Physican. He takes it very serious. He is very concerned about obesity and how if affects his patients. My impression of him did not change other than,he expects you to do exactly as he tells you to do,pre-op and post-op wise.
His staff has always been helpful and they take every question or comment serious.Letha and Nita, are the nurse's and they are great and if something is wrong they will get ahold of Dr.Jones even if he is off and get the message to him.I think what I like least about Dr. Jones would not be a dislike but a pet peeve,ha! He is to the point and very much a surgeon,he seems to be rushed alot.I guess I just expected him to be more personal.Future patients should know that Dr.Jones is a wonderful surgeon,he is to the point and does his job very well.He was great with making sure I understood what the drain tubes were for and for making sure I was not in pain.I also take my Flinstone vitamins every day.HA!
He makes sure you have all of your follow up appointments and that if you have any problems in between to call the office and he will have you come in.There is a post-op patients named Brooke that does our WLS Support Groups and she is wonderful.Dr.Jones and Letha (his nurse) was very up front with the risk, nothing was sugar coated.I would rate Dr.Jones as one of the best surgeons that I have used.I guess because he is very educated and confident in what he does. His surgical competence was the best and his bedside manner was great, other than he seemed to be on the run all the time. But,you knew that you could always call Letha if you didn't get to get your question answered.
I guess the one thing that I could add that I would have like to see explained better would be that he would need to address the mental aspects of what the surgery could do to you, like Depression, fatigue, etc.I can assure you though that it does go away.

I have used Dr. Jones before for gallbladder surgery. You have to attend one of his seminars on WLS and then schedule an appointment for a one on one talk. He is a very nice gentleman, asked me questions, and assured me he would send the insurance company a letter that very afternoon. Right now the insurance company has my info, just waiting on the determination. The only problems I have had so far is just the wait to get an appointment and attend the seminar. I started in May of 2002, and its now the end of October, 2002. Hopefully everything will go smoothly with the insurance company.

Dr.Jones is a great doctor. He performed my moms surgery six years ago and she is doing great. I loved his one on one evaluation. He totally understands the needs very overweight people. He has a great staff working with him. Margrett is wonderful, she worked with me alot. I only wish that he would do more surgeries a week the demand is so high and 3 a week pushes your date out 4 to 5 months ahead. I have referred everbody i know that might be interested in this to see him. When I have my surgery I will complete my evaulation of Dr. Jones.

My first impression was that he was over worked. I could tell he was very tired. He was very informative. His office staff seemed nice. I can't really decribe much about him because I have only seen him twice, the 1st time I was attending his seminar and the 2nd time was in his office.

Dr Jones is very thorough in his class that he does for the general public. He answered all questions during the session and stayed after to talk with me. The office staff is well organized and I especially liked his physician's assistant who helped me with last minute planning. He has a comfortable bedside manner and I work in healthcare so he tends to give me a somewhat more detailed explanation if I ask.

Dr. Jones is one of my favorite people. He has a great bed side manner. Most of all he cares about his patients and their needs. I really like his office staff and nurses. They have been very helpful to me for the past three years. He made me very aware of the risks of surgery as well as the benefits. I am 25 years old and in great health. He emphasizes aftercare a great deal and that the surgery is not a cure all for obesity. I would rate him as a definite ten.

My first impression of Dr Jones was that he was a doctor that knew what I was feeling.

I only grew to like him more.

They are kind and caring people.

I can't think of anything I didn't like.

He is kind, caring, and knows his business.

Every visit pre-op and post-op.

No

In the initial pre-surgery class.

On a scale from 1 to 10 he is a 12!!

Both are great!
