K. Bruce Jones Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

I meet w/Dr. Jones last week and was very impressed. He discussed the pros and cons of WLS . He emphasized the importance of lifestyle changes for longterm success. The thing I liked most about him was his compassion for those suffering from obesity. His enitire staff seemed very professional yet personalable. I will post more after my surgery.

It has been since June of 2003 since I had surgery. I have gone from 329 pounds to 147! I am very grateful for all that Dr. Jones and his staff done to make my life complete. I have not had any problems what so ever. I am very strict and do as told, so I have had success with my sugery adventure. If you do your part and do as instructed by Dr. Jones and his wonderful staff you too will be fine and skinny in no time. I am living life to its fullest and enjoying every moment of it.

I just wanted to say a few things about Dr. Jones. First of all He nows his stuff. To me he did not come across as very personalble. He is not rude just not much of a talker. He is a get down to business doctor. Which is not bad. He is very good at what he does. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in what he does. That God for that. I had an open RNY and looking at my insition, I thought he had done a very neat job. He keeps himself very neat and crisp (I am talking about his cloths and appearance) and I feel that is how he is when doing surgerys also.
Dr. Jones emphasizes a great deal in aftercare and doing the proper things to insure you do not jepperdize your surgery or your life.
He is a tell it like it is doctor and makes sure you know all the risks before you have the surgery.
His office staff are wonderful people and they care.
These thoughts are just my oppinions and my thoughts about Dr. Jones and his staff.

At first I thought he was a lil bit on the dry side, because he cut right to the truth about things, laid all the pros and cons and risks right out in my face, and then as I got to spend more time with him, I found out that he was making sure I was informed. Of everything, good, bad, and the ugly. He will not lie to you. He also will not operate if you do not follow his orders.
He tells you up front he doesn't like taking chances, and if he thinks your health issues are too bad, he won't cut you open. He emphasizes support group meetings, and aftercare... I rate him a 10 because he has been open and honest about the surgery, and sees me through all aftercare, he does not leave you hanging once the staples are out.
He's there, and his staff is wonderful too. I am very glad I had this surgeon.

Dr. Jones was great! From the begining to the present(35 days post-op. He explained everything wonderfully, I was very well informed of everything. He is very knowledgable and able to explain everything easily.He was great while I was in the hospital, post-op visits and each time I saw him.Dr. jones staff was very helpful. I realy liked Letha Brown,APN;she was super! The aftercare program was excelent. An abundance of information was given pre and post-op. Additionally, the bariatric program coordinator at St. Benards hospital was wonderful. The classes that you attend during PAT realy helps alot. They explain everything from the time you enter the hospital until discharge. Overall, Icouldnt have asked for anything more, they were all great. I loved Dr. Jones bedside manner. He just comes in and sits down and talks to you, alot of surgeons talk down to you or talk to you at a distance.Dr. Jones has it all, supreme competence and great bedside manner.

Dr Jones is very profressional. His office staff does what is neccesary.

Dr. Jones is very articulate and throughly explained the risks that are associated with having WLS. I felt totally comfortable and at ease while talking to Dr. Jones and he answered all my questions without making me feel like he was pressed for time. D. Jones is a total professional, does not try to gloss over anything, covers everything there is to be covered in the initial meetings, reiterates in later meetings, is very open and responsive to questions. Dr. Jones is a wonderful surgeon and one that I would highly recommend to anyone.
Dr. Jones has a great staff of people working for him. However, there was one episode with his office manager where we got off on the wrong foot. But that is in the past and life is too short to hold grudges.
On a scale of 1 to 10 I give Dr. Jones 10+.

Very concerned about my health, very serious about how I do my part to make sure this is successful.

He is kind, caring and courteous, but firm.

I rate Dr. Jones and his methods and his straight-forward manner very high.

Dr. Jones is the best in his feild. He is a great person and he is serious about his work. His office staff is very freindly and take time with you.

He will make sure that you are healthly enough for the surgery and understand what a challenge it is.

Aftercare is very important to him. He insist that you go to support meetings and to take your vitamins as he instructs.

He is real upfront with you about the risks involved in this surgery.

I would say that is the best one in this area to do this type of surgery.

A very caring person and a great person all around.

Dr. Jones was really nice. He had a great bedside manner. He was really patient and informative. He seemed to really care about his patients. His staff were nice and helpful. His assistant, Leah, was great. She was alot of help before and after. I felt comfortable with Dr. Jones from the first seminar. He just seemed so friendly and comfortable and he was even more after I started seeing him. He just put me really at ease about the whole thing. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I think a great bedside manner is as important as his competence because this a very stressful and major operation.
