I REALLY LIKED DR OLDHAM HE WAS THE BEST. HE WAS SO CARING AND UNDERSTANDING. I WOULD GO BACK TO HIM AGIN. HIS STAFF WAS SO KIND AND WONDERFUL AND THEY REALLY MADE SURE YOU KNOWED WHAT YOU WAS GETTING INTO. THEY WAS VERY HELPFUL. JUST LIKE NOW WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM YOU CAN CALL AND THEY WILL RETURN YOURE CALL IN A TIMLEY MANNER. I HAVE TO SAY I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED WITH SUCH GRACE AND RESPECT THEN WHAT I WAS WITH THE WHOLE GEORGETOWN HOSPITAL AND BARIATRIC TEAM.

Dr. Oldham is an excellent, caring surgeon. The entire staff at the Bluegrass Bariatric Center is very professional and extremely concerned about their pre- and post-op patients. Their aftercare program is outstanding. Post-op patients have 24/7 access to their help, which is very reassuring when you're embarking on this life-changing journey. Their program also has social aspects to it that most others probably don't enjoy. This may be due to the high level of satisfaction of their patients, but it is a wonderful part of my experience with their program.I would recommend this program to anyone.

I chose Dr Oldham because he performed lap roux-n-y. He also operates along with Dr Weiss. (The fact that they are both younger and cute didn't hurt)And the hospital was very well rated. I was well informed before even being asked if I had made a final decision. The entire Georgetown Bariatic team gives you plenty of information so you can feel comfortable with your final decision. They let you know the good, the bad and the ugly from the get go. There is a full aftercare program as well as a full support group and message boards. Several of their nurses have had the procedures as well. The only drawback that I can see is that once surgery is over and you are doing okay after your first post-op visit, you don't get a chance to see the surgeons. The nurses see you at your checkups. This is fine with me. However, the surgeons are available if you do need to see them for anything.

And yes, I would do it all over again if I had to. It's the best thing I have ever done for myself. Life is so much easier.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Oldham and the staff at the Bariatric Center. Dr. Oldham is very personable. He genuinely cares about his patients. During my pre-op visit he answered all of my questions before I even had a chance to ask. The before care, hospital stay, and after care are phenominal. The entire staff is very dedicated. They really want you to succeed. If there is ever a question or concern they are just a phone call away. The aftercare program doesn't just include routine follow-up appointments. They also offer weekly and monthly support group meetings as well as a newly created emotional support group meeting. I couldn't ask for a more caring group of individuals.

Dr. Oldham has been fantastic, talented, caring and easy on the eyes too. I appreciate the dedication and professionalism he has shown. My surgery could not have gone better.

The staff at Bluegrass Bariatric is the best! They respond in a timely manner and care about my concerns. The online support and support groups at Georgetown have been great in helping me learn and deal with all of the changes in my life.

What did I like least about him? Hmmm.... the fact that when he walked into the room all of my women friends attention went from me and my surgery to what a HOTTIE I had for a DR.

The aftercare program is great. Support groups and staff to help with anything that comes up. He emphasizes that education and support before and after are vital to success.

The surgeon and staff were clear about the risks of surgery and I felt they did everything they could to minimize such risks.

Both his surgical expertise and beside manner were nothing short of great.

I found Dr Oldham to be a very gentle man. My personal opinion is he has a wonderful bedside manner and genuine concern for his patients..He had a calming affect which put myself and husband at ease.
I found him to be very thorugh going over every detail including after care and support groups. Though I felt his bedside manner to be great, his skill as a surgeon was most important to me.
The Bariatric staff is wonderful. They were quick on getting me answers and letting me know what was going on..Catherine the insurance specialist kept a constant vigil and assurd everything was right on target and not to worry..She handled everything for us. I can only speak for myself.
I am thankful I was allowed to have the Adjustable Lab Band and that Dr Oldham was my doctor.

My first impression of Dr. Oldham was that he is very intelligent when it comes to bariatric surgery. When I first met him, I didn't feel ashamed of my weight. With a lot of other doctors, I always worried when the subject of my obesity was going to come up, and what other ailment they were going to contribute to my obesity; however, Dr. Oldham wasn't like that. Although he is a very healthy man, he understands what his patients are going through, and he truly wants to help them. I felt at ease with Dr. Oldham, as well. Talking to him was like talking to a friend. He makes you feel comfortable. Although he was very adamant about the risks, he wants to do everything within his power to keep you safe in order for you to have a good result from this surgery. In regard to the office staff, you could not ask for a nicer group of ladies! Everyone smiles at you, and you truly feel like everyone really cares about you, which I know they do. The programs that the Georgetown Bariatric Center offer are unbelievable. Through all my research, I could not find one program in my area that offered the support that this program does. I feel that I have made the best choice for my surgery and for the care and support I will need after my surgery. On a 1-10 scale, I would rate this program a 20!!!

Dr. Oldham is very personal in his approach. He treats you as if you were a member of his own family - helping you decide what approach is best for you. His staff is very much the same way - they don't treat you like a number. They care how you are doing, addressing your concerns and questions in a very timely manner. Before surgery, at the hospital, and after I went home, I have been confident in their integrity - doctor and staff as well.

Now that I am in the aftercare portion of the program, my personal needs and concerns still seem to be a priority with Dr. Oldham and his staff. He has a nurse practioner who takes the first line for evaluating potential problems, which leaves him more time to devote to providing services where they are truly needed. His nursing staff is very perceptive in detecting problems and in answering everyday questions. They work well as a team.

I haven't been to a support group meeting yet but they are strongly recommended as a portion of aftercare. The clinic also has an internet message board where we can discuss a whole array of topics that relate to WLS surgery aftercare. The nurses monitor this site and almost immediately address more specific questions. When they see something that may be of more medical concern, they let the writer know he/she should call the doctor immediately. This is a tremendous source of comfort to me when I have a specific question but don't want to bother the doctor.

Dr. Oldham is a very competent surgeon. I like the fact that he only operates laparoscopically. He's well trained in that surgical method and it pays off in shortening the healing process. I have spoken to several physicians locally and brought the Georgetown Bariatric Clinic to their attention. Hopefully more local people will be referred to the Georgetown clinic in the future. It is definitely a great place to go for excellent care and successful weight loss.

The first time I met Dr. Oldham I was impressed with his knowledge of the RNY as well as his personable acceptance of obesity. He went over all the risks with me and made certain that I understood how important aftercare and support meetings were. I would definitely rate Dr. O with a perfect "10" in all areas, surgical competence and bedside manner. He answered all my questions professionally and precisely to the point.
The staff at Georgetown Bariatrics couldn't be more helpful, kind or knowledgeable. One reason I chose this staff is the fact that 3 of the nurses have had the RNY themselves and 2 of them wrote, "The Owners Manual for Gastric Bypass Patients". They also attend the support group meetings and teach the pre and post-op classes.
I am 8 weeks post-op and couldn't be more happy that I had the surgery. I have had no complications and have lost 48 pounds. If you have decided to no longer let obesity control your life, then I would highly recommend that you attend a seminar with Georgetown Bariatrics and begin your life again!

My first impression of Dr. Oldham was that he seemed very relaxed and knowledgable, a "laid back" kind of man. Very casual, really put me at ease. His office staff was excellent too. I never encountered anyone that wasn't friendly. There was nothing that I didn't like about Dr Oldham or the office staff. Future patients should know that there are no "stupid" questions. He answers them all, don't be afraid to ask them! He encourages you to take the time you need with him to make sure you know exactly what you're getting into. I didn't feel "rushed" when I met with him. Dr. Oldham emphasizes the aftercare program, and encourages attendance at support group meetings. He was very thorough covering all risks associated with surgery. I am a LapBand patient, he showed me an actual Band and described (with diagrams) exactly where it would be placed and how it worked. Overall, I rate Dr. Oldham as an excellent surgeon. My surgery was a success, and I knew exactly what to expect on the day of surgery. Of course, surgical competence is very important, but I feel that bedside manner is too. Dr. Oldham exhibited both, and I would highly recommend him to anyone considering WLS.
