John D. Nye Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I had my appt. with Dr. Nye on Nov.14, 06. I felt a sense of calmness as I enter his office. He and his staff were great. He was very informative and straight to the point. He answered all questions. He even complimented my fiance for being there with me and being so supportive. I am happy I chose Dr. Nye. He and his staff were very nice.

So far my first impression of my surgeon is that he makes me feel extremly comfortable. Plus I love the fact that he told me that he thinks I will weigh 140 within a year to a year and a half. And he said that I should not need plastic since I am so athletic and my skin is in excelent condition!

very down to earth, self assured, and told me exactly what to expect. His office staff are helpful and dont make you wait too long, they speak very highly of Dr. Nye. Everyone I met at the hospital told me I had the best doctor. After care lasts 5 yrs. I would rate Dr. Nye excellent sofar so good! They went over the risks several times, but they assured me I would be fine and I am.

I was really impressed with Dr. Nye. After having met my previous surgeon, being denies and then moving, he and his staff were excellent. I couldn't be happier.

Dr. Nye was very cool and he know his work and knows with your help what works for you he's straight to the point and makes you feel very comfortable, he emphasizes his aftercare 5 years out or even longer if your still living in the area.He's great!

Dr. Nye is a great surgeon. I am so grateful to be his patient. He addressed all of my concerns, sparing no time, and made an effort to explain every facet of the procedure and following events thoroughly. Thank you Dr. Nye!!

The first appointment with Dr. Nye went very well considering I was very nervous!!His nurse interviewed me and then asked if I had anyone with me that day...I had brought my daughter to help me since at that time my husband was not too happy about my disicion to have the bypass.She said Dr. Nye would like to meet her.When Dr. Nye came in he smiled and began to tell me all the positive things that I was about to imbark on, then he told me all the bad things that could happen...I was determined to have this surgery !!!I wanted to be healthy again,and be with my family for as long as I could.I felt he was very qualified, experenced, and very caring.I was very honest in all my answers to his questions.I had some problems in the hospital, but Dr. Nye was right there...My husband came around and has been very supportive after he met and talked with Dr. Nye.I drive round trip six hours to see Dr. Nye.He is very concerned about the aftercare you recieve, his staff has always answered any questions I have ...I love them all!!!they have made me a very happy and healthy lady!!!God Bless Dr. Nye and his staff!!!!!!!!!!! kathie

My first impression of Dr. Nye and his staff was a very positive one. They are all very busy but when its your turn its YOUR turn. They are all so friendly and have a smile ready for you and plenty of support. I can't really think of anything I disliked about Dr. Nye or his staff. I felt like I was in very capable hands. They helped me all the way through. Dr. Nye doesn't let you get by with anything. He has certain information he requests from you and he expects to have it. If you are just interested in this surgery for the cosmetic benefits then you are at the wrong place. Dr. Nye is about health and need. He's very direct and when the man smiles.. he lights up the room so you know you made him proud. This surgery is definitely no cake walk. It's very dangerous and very painful. You Have to take control of yourself and walk through the pain. No matter what the end result is, it's up to you. It's not comfortable and its not pretty. I walked every day quite a few times. Did it hurt? YES!!! This surgery was my last resort to save my life. Dr. Nye is right there with you. Day or night. If you have something stupid or something important to ask him just do it. He cant help you if he doesnt know whats going on. He always had an answer for me. I will never need this surgery again because I was so well informed but to those of you seriously considering this life change, Dr. Nye is the best.

I had my surgery almost over a year ago and I am so happy. Last year at this time I was absolutely miserable weighing my heavist at 230 lbs. I was terrified of the thought of WLS to be honest but a friend of mine had it done with Dr. Nye and she said it was great and she was so happy and loved Dr. Nye. I decided to give him a try. After an initial rough start with my PCM I finally got the referral approval to see Dr. Nye and let me tell you from the very moment I met him and his staff I felt safe. I knew that I could entrust my health to this man and his skill. I can not explain why maybe it's the way he caries himself I'm not sure but you can tell that he honestly loves what he does and he likes giving people back their lives. Which is exactly what he did for me. Still after he and his staff assured me they would do everything they could to get me approved I was scared I would get denied and have to fight with TRICARE to get the surgery done. Well much to my suprise about a week after I saw him his office called to say they had my approval in had and they wanted to know if April 5th was a good surgery date for me. The whole process took less than three weeks. I have never had any problems and Dr. Nye and his staff have always been there whenever I have needed them. And to be completely honest I do not think that I would have let anyone else do this surgery on me. I love Dr. Nye so much and I can not thank him enough for giving me my life back and helping me become the person I always knew I was.
