My first impression of Dr. Nye was he really cares and wants you to fully understand the whole process of WLS and he explains the pros and cons of all of the ones he provides and gives his reccomendation on the one he thinks you do or which one you stand to benefit more from. My impression of Dr. Nye with every visit is that i feel more and more comfortable with him and i am glad i have chosen him to perform my WLS. When you are at his office it's like one big happy family the office staff makes you fel at home and everyone there is so personable, thereis nothing to not like about Dr. Nye and his Staff, you can't help but to like them. One visit to Dr Nye's office and i am pretty sure you will not have to think long an who will be performing your WLS. well these are my thoughts on Dr Nye before surgery and i guarantee you that after my surgery my thoughts will be the same, today is may 28 and i am 3 weeks post op and my feelings are still the same. Dr Nye is the best.
I liked Dr. Nye right away. He takes his time with his patients and goes over everything!! His staff is wonderful and they all make you feel at ease. I was completely comfortable with Dr. Nye doing my surgery and he was right on with about my progress and what kind of goal I would attain. My impression has not changed at all, I would recommend him to anyone! There is nothing that I don't like about him or his staff. Aftercare is very important to Dr. Nye and his staff, in every way from nutrition, exercise to even mental well being. You are in great hands with Dr. Nye and his staff!!! I have heard some people say that his bedside manner is not the best, but I have not found that to be true. He puts me at ease and even jokes with me.
When I met Dr Nye @ the Meet the DR meeting, I knew he was the one I wanted my initial appointment with. He was very honest and up front on information regarding all WLS, so I felt comfortable putting myself into his hands. My view never changed on Dr Nye, he has stayed professional but human in the long time it has taken to get this surgery done. His staff was the best. I have read on this site how so many people had to jump through hoops to get their surgery and to me I feel like Dr nye's nurses did all the hoop jumping, just to get little ole me approved. I was asked a thousand times why i chose him, I woudl do it again in a heartbeat. I am not one to follow a crowd and I want someone to schedule me in around my time not their golf schedule. Between him and the bariatric center and his nurses I know I can call anytime to ask a question, aftercare, i am confident will be well maintained. I received all kinds of information regarding the surgery, in fact the day before mine, I will have 1 more appointment to go over it all over again. The whole staff at baptist baraitrics was awesome, I give them a 10 as a team. I am going to have to go with surgical competence as a better characteristic for my surgeon, but his bedside manner has been great too.
My first impression of Dr. Nye and his staff was that they seemed very casual. I felt at ease instantly. The staff acts as if they have known you forever. His wife is a delight and was very iformative. I also feel that he is a straight shooter. He get's down to business, but doesn't make you feel rushed. It is a good balance.rnrnI think it is important to realize how much experience he has in both WLS as well as surgery in general. I knew I was in good hands. rnrnThe pre and post op care are excellent. With me being a self pay, it would have been easy for them to just schedule me without the normal nutrition and psych evals that insurance requires, but he did not. i still had to do all of that and am glad I did.rnrnHe was very honest and thorough in his explanations of the risks and possible complications. My husband and I appreciated that greatly. My surgery went like clockwork and I am having no problems and I feel great. rnrnHe made it very clear that my success was going to depend on me. He explained that this wasn't a magic cure, but a tool and if I didn't do my part and drink all my fluids, take my vitamins EVERY DAY, and exercise, than this would not work. I went in knowing I had to do my part and as long as I did I would be a success.rnrnI would reccomend Dr. Nye to anyone 100%. He is both competant as well as thoughtful and for someone who had not ever been in a hospital except to have kids, that made me feel very at ease. rnrnI truly cannot think of anything negative to say, even something small. In fact, while he was doing my surgery, he even took care of some adhesions I had from my past c-section.rn
Dr. Nye is great! He made me feel right at home from the first visit. He was willing to spend as much time with me as I needed and answered all my questions to my satisfaction. His staff is also great. I have called the office on several different occasions and left messages to be called back but never got the calls returned. A hint: don't tell him you forgot to take your Nexium for a few days or he will read you the riot act! He also got on to me for not calling his office with what I thought was a small problem that I could talk to him about on my next visit. He is very serious that you follow the aftercare plan and wants you to get better and realize your goals. These are my personal impressions of my experience but I would recommend him to anyone!
My first impression of Dr. Nye was not great. He seemed to rush through our appointments and didn't make me feel like my questions/concerns were valid. But I knew his reputation as a great surgeon and that was what was important to me. Later on though post op I was having some personal problems that were affecting my weight loss and he was wonderful about it. I gained alot of respect for him then.rnrnOverall, a great surgeon... and that is the number 1 thing to me. I wanted to know that I would make it through the surgery, bottom line. Dr. Nye did a great job on my surgery and that made up for everything else.
Wow good looking fella ...his wife is nice as well..very nice polite informative.. I couldnt have asked for a better surgen or team that he has there..when there was a a snag in the road they pulled me through ..Alice is wonderful she is a great asset to there team. and as far as being turned lose to go to the bariatric center well i was happy and sad.. you had to be doing good to get to be released to them I just loved seeign them up in the office you know you get use to seeing a certian person .. but I am so glad that thigns went the way that they have KAREN Bonnie and all of them there are awsoem ppl I can be feelign down and they are there I can be wantign to jump and shout I have made it and poof they will celebrate too.. but rest assure they will keep you on track and on your toes.. you can be like me and run into pitfalls with a divorce and everythign and not be able to get in to them for a long time and they will take you back in like it was yesterday .. they never give up on a person they are all AWSOME I would recommend them to anyone. I LOVE YOU ALL!
Dr. Nye is a fantastic doctor! He saved my life and restored my spirit in the process. My first time walking into the doctors office was scary for me. But he and his staff quickly comforted me and my decision to have the surgery. Dr. Nye was extremely honest with his expectations for me and so far all his beliefs have been true. He explained that there are risks to every surgery and that this one was no different. No sugar coatings with him. My overall experience and opinion is this, i was dying in my own body and struggling to maintain normality in my life. Dr. Nye stepped in and helped me regain control. He is a true angel.
