Dr. Nye is awesome! Baptist Bariatric Center is the best. They follow you for five years after your surgery.

I was comfortable with Dr. Nye right away. He was very comfortable in his abilities. He was actually a trauma surgeon for like 15 years. He was very upfront with what I could expect and what he could/would do. He does not sugarcoat things. Some dislike that about him. He makes sure his patients are healthy after surgery. He orders blood tests every so often to be sure everything is in order. Patients can call him at any time if there is any concern post-op. I would choose Dr. Nye again in a heartbeat. I trust him completely. Personally I find his bedside manner just as good as his surgical skills. I think most patients say his bedside manner is lacking, but I take comfort in the fact that he knows what he is doing and he know what you need to be doing.

my first impression of Dr Nye was that he is a Godsend to many, many people who love him dearly and thank God for him everyday. His staff is wonderful, and although not one of them is even slightly overweight they are very kind and gentle and have a sincere understanding for you and show true kindness.rnrnrnrnwell here we are 3 1/2 years after surgery and i must say its been a rough road to lead, i have had a change of heart with dr nye, he put my care into the hands of my gastro dr. who thank god had kept me alive all this time, dr nye when called, seemed to make light of my problems and dismissed me, making me feel it was all in my head, but common sense told me all the pain, vomiting, egd's (over 20), the ambulance rides, er visits, hospital admits, all told me something is deffinately wrong. dr nye was a good surgeon, that part he did well, but the after care was really bad and not what he promised it would be at all.rni must add that this is what i have found in my personal case and my experience with him, what others have said to me has nothing to do with what i feel i have personally experienced with him.

I thought both Dr. Nye and his staff were wonderful! From the first visit I knew I had found the right surgeon for me. I had been to the other seminars in our area and found them to be cold and insensitive. He was very open and easy to talk with. He answered all of my questions without any reservations. He is really big on followup. (5) years to be exact. My surgery went without a glitch. The office staff, hospital staff and Dr. Nye were a 10 out of 10. I would highly recommend him to anyone contemplating bariatric surgery. Years of experience really do count! All risks and complications were expalined to me and my family in detail on more than one occassion.The only negative part was having to wait to get in for an appointment and having to wait to see him once I came. Then I realized, the wait was because he gives you as much time as is needed!

My first impression has remained constant. Very down to earth and good listener. He makes you comfortable and trust him explicitely. He is progressive in his treatment and has great results. His entire staff is first class and so is the entire staff you will deal with at the Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.rnI recommend him and Baptist Bariatric program!

Dr.Nye and his staff are great. I felt comfortable from the first meeting. He is straight forward and clear about your personal need for surgery. During the surgery the anestheisa folks had trouble intubebating me. Dr. Nye then didnt want me to have anymore tries so he intubated me himself and then scrubed back in to do my surgery. I have nothing but praise for his staff. They greet you as you are family. No question never goes unanswered they find the answer. I have lost almost 100lbs since my Jan 8 2007 surgery. He follows you closely and I look forward to my follow up appointments. I am feeling great and I am so glad I had my surgery and Dr Nye was my doctor. I recomend him to anyone wanting this surgery. You will have the very best in experience and follow up care. Dont go to another doctor who doesnt have the experience you will be unhappy.

Dr Nye was great! When I went for my first consult and brought my mom I found him to be very professional. He wasn't overly talkative about anything other than my history and stuff related to surgery. Basically just offered the facts and answered my moms paranoid questions. He was all business and thats what I liked, he definatly came off like he had every confidence in his ability and made me feel that way too. His staff handled everything and a short time after the first consult I was in surgery. I can't say enough about his aftercare. I had a question about my JP drain a few days after surgery and I called the number at 11 pm thinking I'd get an answering service and they'd call me back the next day. They put me right through to him and he answered all my questions. 8 days after my surgery I developed gout in my feet and knees the worst I ever had it. Again Dr Nye and his staff were there for me after hours when I needed it most. Everytime I go in there the lovely women who work there remember my name, its just a great environment. Overall I would totally recommend him to anyone thinking about this surgery.

I had my surgery in August of 2005. Since then I have lost 121 pounds. Pretty Amazing!. He told me I would get to 125 easy. Needless to say I really didn't beleive him. Now I am 145 and wearing a size 8. I am starting to believe. After surgery he personally returned my calls when I had concerns. I would do it again in a heartbeat. It did hurt tremendously. But after a while I felt like a normal person again. I just have to say thank you to him and his staff.
